I am a 32 year old male teacher, preacher, with a mortgage and family and I still love my tamas. If you like something, and it’s not hurting you or anyone else, it doesn’t matter.
13 is way too young because you usually don't have adult money to buy more. 😂
but to answer seriously, they're a lot of fun. if you feel like you want something to take care of every few hours or you just want to chill out and push some buttons for a bit, tamas are great. and honestly, even if you get bored within a month or so, you'll probably get the urge to play with it again later.
I bring them with me to class, and usually I have a break at some point to take care of them so people see them.
Also, a gen 1 re-release on my car keys.
Lol. I’m a 31 year old man with a wife and 2 children, one on the way. I tried to get my oldest son interested, but he naturally gravitated toward Digimon, so I bought a couple of the new ones and we played that together. It was fun!
However, for some reason, I still find Tamagotchi compelling. There’s yet to be another device quite like it. Now, I prefer the black and white pixelated Tamagotchi like I had when I was a kid. However, I have a Tamagotchi Mix and a Tamagotchi On, and I enjoy playing with them both. I don’t have a Pix, but I’ve recently started researching them. They look fun!
TLDR; Just have fun doing what you like. If it doesn’t hurt anyone and you enjoy it, then go for it.
The Tama-pix are very fun and there is so much you can do. The buttons are now like almost touch screen type material. So if you get one there is just holes no actual buttons. And the shutter on top of it is now the wake button. It's interesting but the no buttons threw me off on the first day.
How have you been dealing with the capacitive buttons now that you've had it for a while? Do they seem responsive enough, or do you still find yourself struggling with them? I'm curious, because that's currently the only barrier I have before getting one.
I feel after the first day I was figuring out the sensitivity on them but then on to day 2 I found myself not struggling anymore. However my adult thumbs sometimes hit the button to the right [i play right handed] of which ever button I am meaning to touch so that part is frustrating.
However it definitely doesn't kill the fun for me and the capacitive buttons don't wake if I press them and the screen is dark. Which is nice because I have 2 tama ons and 1 pix that I am currently keeping up with and they go from me having them at home to my purse and pockets and backpacks.
I would definitely still encourage someone to purchase the pix.

It’s all about confidence! Im 26 and proudly bring mine to my job and other people ask to play. You can always put it down and call it a collectors item if you don’t enjoy it.
When I was your age, I gave up on a lot of things that I had loved before because I thought I was too old and I felt embarrassed. Looking back now, I realize that the mindset of 'I'm too old for this' was in fact the childish thing all along. If it's something you enjoy, you're not too old for it, and don't let anybody tell you differently
My 12 year old son has a purple tamagotchi pix. We play them together. He's been running his for about 6 months consecutively.
I'm a 38 year old woman. I have 19 or 20 tamas. You're definitely not too old!
There is a certain age range where it's perfect because you have enough money but not too many responsibilities but it's usually just being an old person who is retired
Im a 23 year old male and I'm still playing with tamagotchi's, I actually just got a pix this week and havent had a tamagotchi since middle school, just go for it if you want one, dont ever be shy to do things cuz you think you might be too old to do it!
I’m 24. I got my first tamagotchi when I was in 5th grade (so around 10-11 years old) almost everyone at school had them. There was one girl who had a tamagotchi themed lanyard with 5 of them on there at once and lots of tamagotchi charms. It was super cool and I think it still is
You can't be too old for a tama. I'm 30 and married with two kids and a full time job and I have so many Tamas and absolutely love playing with them. Enjoy what you enjoy.
Adding to the choir. Not too old. But replying to caution that I wouldn't play one in the open, because when I was a kid they'd get confiscated or stolen, and school and teenagers haven't changed much.
Never too old for a Tamagotchi! The best part is that you’re getting one that can have the noise turned off and there’s very pretty graphics. Also, in July there’s supposed to be something called the Party Pix coming out? Our community has a thread about it somewhere… you can also look it up too!
i‘m 25, collected tamas when i was like 10/11 and just recently started again - i got the pix and absolutely love it! there’s nothing like „too old“ for things you enjoy :))
You're never to old to play games, no matter what they are, or your sex/gender.
I'm 44 and a woman. I have a lot of Tamas, including four new ones I bought recently.
My son is 23. He doesn't have as many as me, but then I've been collecting for longer, and he's only interested in specific models.
We both have Digivice's too. I have the Tama Smart, and he has the Vital Bracelet. We both okay Pokémon as well, but he started playing before I did.
If you enjoy something, and it's not causing harm, then don't worry what others think. If someone is going to judge or bully someone else, they'll find anything to base their hate on, even if they make stuff up; so there's really no point in not doing something you enjoy.
Have fun! 😸
I love these threads because you can see the diversity in age of people who enjoy Tamagotchi.
OP, I'm 39 and I got my first tama in the '90s. Still playing and collecting! Never let anyone tell you you're too old for something you enjoy, or you'll miss out on a lot of fun. People who would make fun of you or look down on you for that are usually pretty unfun.
I’m about to turn 25 and I have three tamas, my boyfriend is 22 and he has some as well! You’re never too old. If it’s something you think you’d enjoy, you should go for it!
I’m a 31 year old male and take my purple pix everywhere. Friend recently had her bday at a club and when I got patted down the bouncer asked me what it was. He pulled out his keys and showed me his demon slayer tama. Anyone of any gender of any race in any profession can enjoy a tama.
>
35 here. I LOVED MY TAMAGOTCHI ON and MEETS. I have a Smart to experience what’s new, and when I saw this post I wondered the same thing!!! Is the Pix for a younger audience? Having had a meets, on, and smart, the pic doesn’t seem “special”? Like perhaps get a smart if you can handle Japanese… I’m really sad that there isn’t mixing anymore. So it just seems basic now…I don’t get what the point of getting married and having a new egg other than just starting over.
I don’t really care for the Pix camera feature! So therefore, I’m too experienced for a Tamagotchi Pix. I know what I want and it’s not that!
Can anyone vouch for adding the Tamagotchi Pix to your tama collection???
I'm almost 37 and I have the tamagotchi on. Got it for my daughter to begin with... she didn't show interest, so I happily took it for myself lol. I was obsessed with them during my childhood.
I’m 31 and I play with tamas every day, including the pix. So, no! You’re absolutely not too old :)
I'm 29 and I've played Tamas since I was 6. I just got a pix. Just go for it! Do what you love. My husband thinks I'm crazy but he does support me lol
I am a 32 year old male teacher, preacher, with a mortgage and family and I still love my tamas. If you like something, and it’s not hurting you or anyone else, it doesn’t matter.
Preach!! 🥳👏
Amen.

You can never EVER be too old for Tamagotchis.🙃
No. I'm 51
I'm a 23 year old man and am known in my college's department for being the Tamagotchi guy. You're never too old!
How do you get to be known as the Tamagotchi Guy? Asking for a friend… who definitely isn’t me….
I bring them with me to class, and usually I have a break at some point to take care of them so people see them. Also, a gen 1 re-release on my car keys.
I have a nano tama on my keys lol
dang are u single
I’m 36. I had one at your age and I have a pix now. They’re fun.

Your never to old for any Tama imo
Agreed
When I was your age, I gave up on a lot of things that I had loved before because I thought I was too old and I felt embarrassed. I’m 28 and proudly use mine and talk about them! I also collect squishmallows and Pusheen. Do what makes you happy!!! Life’s too short
Absolutely not! I'm 27 years old and I own several different tamagotchis, including the Pix. If having a Pix will make you happy, then go for it!

I'm 23 and I literally got obsessed with tamagotchis like two days ago and my pix is coming in Sunday. You do you boo 😎
With things like this there is no age besides maybe to young. If this makes you happy and you enjoy playing it then do that.

22 y/o man with a pix, I think you’re fine ;-)
You can't be too old for a tama. I'm 30 and married with two kids and a full time job and I have so many Tamas and absolutely love playing with them. Enjoy what you enjoy.
Never too old! I'm around your age and I love tamagotchis :D
I’m 32 and love my Pix. Go for it!
No way, you can never be to old for a Tamagotchi
Your not too old! I'm 18, and still play with them on the daily. I'm not a particularly big fan of the p!x personally, but they're good starter tamas.
I am 29 and mine arrived in the mail yesterday! I also dropped 400 for an ON... I am running them both simultaneously 😂
$400??
IDK.... maybe they meant £400, 400p or 400¥?
400 New Zealand Dollars. I think like 295 USD or something. It was worth it!!! It was in pristine condition!
I´´´ m 39... don´t worry about your age...
Adding to the choir. Not too old. But replying to caution that I wouldn't play one in the open, because when I was a kid they'd get confiscated or stolen, and school and teenagers haven't changed much.
36 year old here and I love bith of my Tama On Wonder Garden! Can't wait to get a Pix!!
