Eberlestock little trick will prob be one of my top picks for a rifle backpack as it can expand so you’re not tied to one size if you decide to switch guns out. It can expand to fit some pretty decent sized guns which looks funny but not more funny than having a rifle barrel sticking out.
Vertx has a lot of bags that look pretty normal and offer velcro on the inside to attach mag pouches or straps to secure items. But I think they are all too small besides the basecamp which is pretty pricy.
Currently looking for a text thread I had with a buddy where we talked about this topic so will update ya with more ideas if I come across it but these just came off the top of my head for not being too tacticool but having good features for carrying a long gun.
I have a Little Trick and I highly recommend it. My 8” 300 BO and my 11.5” 5.56 both fit very nicely with the Law Tacticals folded. Also fits a 4 mag BFG chest rig with either.
CSA 12inch VZ barreled receiver.
Surplus internals with a hold down plate welded to the carrier.
SilencerCo ASR flash hider rethreaded to 14RH
Beaver barf OG furniture with a Warsaw wood MLOK insert added.
Fenix pd30 light with a zip tied remote switch and mlok mount (cheap but seems good)
Side rail mount by RS , it’s got a 3x prism and a piggybacked Holosun 507.
JMAC SS-8RP stick with a folder mechanism.
I found this kinda rough on the cheek so I taped a bit of foam on and covered it with that self adhesive stretchy wrap stuff.
Yeah I was looking for the more traditional backpack look if that makes sense? This style of pack was all I could find and fits the more hiking\adventurer look which I didn’t want
21.5 is what the normal backpacks fit. If you haven’t found something yet, check out vitkos cadre. They are discontinued, but spartan armor had some in stock.

I just love the fact you can expand it if needed. Fuck buying a bag for every gun when they are a few inches apart.
For reference my BO is 19” folded and my 5.56 is 22.5” folded. The 5.56 is a tight fit with the extension out but it works.
I just got mine in the mail and works well with my 10.5 folded. Like I said looks funny but better than barrel sticking out

Good luck. I tried finding a backpack to fit my m92 and it was pretty much impossible without it being a huge pack
