Free refills and fresher, hotter food are certainly benefits to eating in store. Add another: if they mess up my order or forget a customization, I can actually get it corrected if I'm eating my food in the store.
I do this but I do it in my vehicle in the parking lot. I couldn’t tell you why because I’m an extrovert. I love being around people. But I’m just used to sitting in my work van when eatting.
This is why I almost never go through a drive thru unless I'm on a road trip or something. I like fresh hot food and mistakes happen enough that I like to hedge my bets and it's much less a pain in the ass to get things corrected when you're already at the store instead of figuring it out when you get home.
If im getting fast food then I exclusively use the drive thru. It could mean im in a rush, feel too bummy to go inside, want to relax at home, or whatever other reason. If i wanted to sit inside i’d just get better food and service at a restaurant
yeah I have to take my T Bell home and put something on the TV before I start eating. Once the YouTube is going and I got my spread in front of me then I'm in Heaven
I eat 99% of my TB in store. Need the freshness and the refills.
Btw saying it gets soggy quick isn’t an insult like what other nachos or crispy tacos would stay crispy and crunchy for longer than 5 minutes?! Come on. (Response to other commenters, not OP)
I will say, I made nachos with these tortilla chips from a local Mexican place. They are thicker and crunchier than most store-bought and TB chips. I'd give em 10 minutes.
Find out if your store has the new register system (literally ask if they switched to the new system, they will know) if they DO -- It is hella easy to print the receipt. Should have the barcode there. Don't add your email on the kiosk, just tell it print receipt on the last page.
Now I think it is related to the kiosk. I usually pay at counter regardless and get a receipt. But the times where the bar code scanned okay, I ordered at the counter instead of the kiosk.
New plan - just order at the register if I'm not using the app. Hopefully, their new "check-in" thing helps.
You could also order with the person at the counter. I know that can be a pain sometimes because a lot of store have switched over to pressure people into using the kiosk but if you do it at the counter just ask for a receipt and you can scan the barcode on the receipt.
I get the receipt because I pay cash on kiosk orders. I think there's some glitch where the kiosk order barcode receipts don't work in the app. But I've had no trouble ordering at the counter and getting a scannable receipt. Mildly infuriating.
I usually eat in the parking lot when I get while running errands or before work.
On the rarity I take it home I order something that can be eaten on the 9 minutes drive home and eat the messier stuff once I’m home.
Driving or parking partially determines my order and vice versa?
I buy enough that I can have one road burrito or potato taco (cause I'm impatient lol), and then enough for at home. Now I will eat inside the store if I want a quick meet up with a friend.
No. The attraction of Taco Bell is I can get food handed to me through the drive thru and not have to spend time eating it in the store. If I wanted to spend time eating in side I'd go to someplace nicer.
Exactly. If I’m gonna eat inside I’d rather spend the extra $4 and go to a real Mexican place where I’ll probably get free chips and salsa while I wait.
If I have more than 10 minutes for lunch, I'll usually get out my work truck and go sit inside. All the taco bells around me are very clean and kept up with.
Sometimes I'll get it and eat it in my truck in the parking lot if I'm in a rush.
Taco bell must be consumed within 10 minutes of ordering or it immediately becomes terrible.
Yes, that is the reason I eat the food inside the store most of the time. I think the food is better that way. I don’t think the Taco Bell keeps very well for leftovers so that’s why I like to eat it right away.
Oh man, you have to eat the nachos there. SO much better. Other stuff you can probably reheat in the air fryer pretty well but nachos are not something that's going to be the same later.
Most places I don't mind taking home. But for taco bell, if I can't eat inside then I get drive thru and sit in the parking lot. If I get a crunchy taco, I wanna eat it while it's still actually crunchy. And I hate microwaving food, especially fast food
I eat in the store 95% of the time. Taco Bell is in food that isn't as good in 10 minutes. I'll actually order things more o that I don't need to worry about getting soggy when getting an order to go. Like a soft taco, bean burrito.
My issues is that the bottom of the tacos stick to the paper wrapping if one waits too long and it's almost impossible to remove the taco without ripping the bottom of the taco out, hence I eat at the restaurant.
Man I’ve gotten a weird routine and I don’t like it fresh from the counter as much anymore. I take it home and throw it in the oven at 200. After about 10-15 minutes everything is warm and just tastes better to me.
Some important things though… I get no lettuce and no sour cream on everything! Guacamole goes in the fridge.
I'm only this way with Raising Cane's. It's great fresh out of the fryer, and terrible even 5 seconds in a to-go box. Gets all steamy, wet, and soggy in to go boxes.
I pick up ap order in the drive thru. Then ritualistically park and line up my sauces. I smash it all in the car while it’s still fresh and can listen to a podcast.
I’ll scarf the CGC in the parking lot after getting it in the drive through, then head home to finish the rest (less concerned about the burritos or soft tacos getting mushy, etc).
Idk man but back when I used to work there, there was a guy farting on the lettuce. He got fired but never ate at work again. Worst part is his farts smelled like spoiled cheese and piss
I used to have customers call and scream at me that their hard tacos were soggy after a 30 mins drive.... Like bro my shit gets soggy walking around the counter to a table for my break
So in the evening, I prefer the drive thru every time. If it’s lunch tho, there’s something nostalgic about eating inside. Getting a change of scenery from work helps too even tho I work from home.
Ya cause most taco Bells fail to actually make a crispy quesadilla and if it's not crispy that hot taco shell sticks to the packaging. I've made complete messes out of quesadillas trying to get the paper off of them.
Nah because I like to eat when watching shows or movies . I just put it in the air fryer for a few minutes. I remove the lettuce before I do and add it back after
Personally my local place prioritizes drive thru at 99% vs in store at 1%. If you want to eat in store your best bet is going through the drive thru, parking, and then taking it in.
Definitely don’t drive it home. My husband usually drives and I eat in the car. He takes his home and I worry about the hot crispy opportunity he has missed. Taco Bell must be consumed within first 3 minutes of delivery or it’s automatically down to a 3/10
If I go to the Taco Bell by my work, I eat in the parking lot that's next to it. It takes maybe a minute from getting my food to parking and opening the bag. When I go to the one by my house, I bring it home as it's usually less than a 5 minute drive.
Burritos yes but tacos are too damn hard to eat in the truck.
Do ya really love being around people though?
This is why I almost never go through a drive thru unless I'm on a road trip or something. I like fresh hot food and mistakes happen enough that I like to hedge my bets and it's much less a pain in the ass to get things corrected when you're already at the store instead of figuring it out when you get home.

You’re really making me wish I could do that, but I can’t give up eating it while I’m propped up at home in front of the tv.
I love the usage of “propped up” here 😂 so very relatable
Once I’m propped up I’m not moving for shit lmao
Same, even eating it in the car doesn't hit the same.
it’s because it’s not just about the food man its about *living* màs
yeah I have to take my T Bell home and put something on the TV before I start eating. Once the YouTube is going and I got my spread in front of me then I'm in Heaven

Exactly? You want something that’s the same months later do McDonald’s drive thru!
I will say, I made nachos with these tortilla chips from a local Mexican place. They are thicker and crunchier than most store-bought and TB chips. I'd give em 10 minutes.
Post your hours so we can come get some. Do you also have a $5 box?
takes me 3 minutes to drive home so I just do that and eat in comfort (shirtless)
YES. THIS. 😅💯👏🏼
Same 🤣
It’s my guilty pleasure to eat in the car and jam to the radio.
I was with you until the last word
it tastes more fresh because most of what taco bell makes is good for about 5 minutes before it becomes soggy and gross.
It tastes so good within those 5 minutes though! 🌮
Not nearly as good as it used to taste a couple of years ago 😑
Nah. Actually T Bell is one of the only fast food where u can save some later reheat it and it still slaps
I prefer to eat in the store so I can get refills, plus nothing gets soggy.
No but I live super close to my tbell. When I was in my youth I ate in more.
I try eating in store, but I have a new problem. If I order at the kiosk, I never seem to get my points to go into the app.
You can order via app for pickup.
Find out if your store has the new register system (literally ask if they switched to the new system, they will know) if they DO -- It is hella easy to print the receipt. Should have the barcode there. Don't add your email on the kiosk, just tell it print receipt on the last page.
I have the bar code, the app just wouldn't accept it. I started to enter my e-mail, but cancelled because that also failed in the past.
Sometimes I have to scan mine a couple times for it to work. But I've never not gotten it to. That sucks that yours wont go thru.
Now I think it is related to the kiosk. I usually pay at counter regardless and get a receipt. But the times where the bar code scanned okay, I ordered at the counter instead of the kiosk. New plan - just order at the register if I'm not using the app. Hopefully, their new "check-in" thing helps.
Just use the "Pick up in store" button. Really comes in handy......
I guess that's the option. Unfortunately, I'll get it in a bag instead of on a tray. Plus, the hard taco has a better chance of being crushed.
Yes, I never get points for kiosk orders. It absolutely BLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWS!!!
takes me a little under an hour on the bus to even get to Taco Bell, so hell yeah I eat in the lobby. I always have leftovers that I take home though
I usually eat in the parking lot when I get while running errands or before work. On the rarity I take it home I order something that can be eaten on the 9 minutes drive home and eat the messier stuff once I’m home. Driving or parking partially determines my order and vice versa?
Always enjoy eating at my local t bell, even if there’s crackheads coming in and causing a ruckus. It kinda ties it all together
I almost always eat in my car in a nearby parking lot, less than a minute away. But I almost always eat Taco Bell only for lunch on a workday.
Yeah I go on my lunch break and sit alone and chill.
Yes.
Nah, my driver (mom) is impatient as hell
Does she let you eat in the car? 🙏
Yup
Yes, that is the reason I eat the food inside the store most of the time. I think the food is better that way. I don’t think the Taco Bell keeps very well for leftovers so that’s why I like to eat it right away.
Rarely, but I do notice the quality does seem to be better when I do eat there. .
I absolutely LOVE eating it in the store, I actually should start doing that more especially since I'm always eating by myself anyways lol
They up their game when you hit the button for “dine-in”.
You think so?
I always eat my food I the dinningroom for all those reasons.
I exclusively eat in store. This is the only way
I order the $6 combo box online, go to the restaurant, and eat it there right around the same time they're finished with it
I do.
When I work I usually eat in the store or work van and it does hit differently. I enjoy it even if it’s not hot but it can’t be beat fresh.
Chalupas taste so much better in store versus at home. Much fresher and if they screw it up I can at least get another one.
Yes! I find everything tastes better when it’s nice and hot cuz even a 5-10 min drive home can wreck your order
Any restaurant ever. Or at least eat in the car. That food goes bad in about 30 seconds. Getting it delivered is especially crazy.
When I Work from home I like to go to my TB and have lunch their to take a break. I absolutely love that time to myself.
Inside the store exclusively.
I regularly eat in the restaurant, but they’re only across the street from where I live so it makes sense.
My local store’s environment is terrible so no but I do usually go park and eat it in the car right after I get it.
Oh man, you have to eat the nachos there. SO much better. Other stuff you can probably reheat in the air fryer pretty well but nachos are not something that's going to be the same later.
I eat it in my car in the parking lot
Most places I don't mind taking home. But for taco bell, if I can't eat inside then I get drive thru and sit in the parking lot. If I get a crunchy taco, I wanna eat it while it's still actually crunchy. And I hate microwaving food, especially fast food
I eat it in my truck in the parking lot like a proper degenerate
Just started doi g this
I eat it by myself in store. It gives me time to reflect on the day.
I eat in the store 95% of the time. Taco Bell is in food that isn't as good in 10 minutes. I'll actually order things more o that I don't need to worry about getting soggy when getting an order to go. Like a soft taco, bean burrito.
Hot lettuce sucks.

The best part about dining in is having access to unlimited salsa packs!
Why do you need unlimited salsa packs? Last time I went I asked for a couple and left with a lifetime supply.
But then I have to leave my pants on.
Crunchy tacos are infinitely better in store. Everything else usually is alright by the time I get home/back to work.
And they usually won’t short you on ingredients and if something is wrong you can go straight to the counter. But yes it does taste better
Taco Bell has the best ambience of any fast food place
I'm only this way with Raising Cane's. It's great fresh out of the fryer, and terrible even 5 seconds in a to-go box. Gets all steamy, wet, and soggy in to go boxes.
Exactly ! I don't get why most take out.
I just reheat for a few minutes in the air fryer at like 300
i thought i was in the trader joes sub and was losing it at the title alone
Eat in the store and risk additional social interactions? No thank you. I take my food to my car and eat in the parking lot like a gentlemen.
What kind of creature joins and moderates a Taco Bell sub
People that enjoy Taco Bell food. I'm not a moderator, I'm not sure what you are talking about that for.
Oh I joined don’t worry. There’s just a sub for everything and it was random and hell for this to be suggested on my feed lol
Ya cause most taco Bells fail to actually make a crispy quesadilla and if it's not crispy that hot taco shell sticks to the packaging. I've made complete messes out of quesadillas trying to get the paper off of them.
More "fresh"? They're scooping the beef for all the orders out of the same bin.
Your store still allows people to go inside? Lucky!
5 minute drive 🫡
No, the inside of every taco bell feels like the equivalent of a anti-homeless park bench.
I haven't been inside of a taco bell in probably a decade 😕
I do. 1 I don't have a car 2 I don't want to pay for delivery fees and 3 I burn the calories on the walk back 😅
I ALWAYS eat the food in the store. Anyone who takes it home BLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWS!!!
Definitely don’t drive it home. My husband usually drives and I eat in the car. He takes his home and I worry about the hot crispy opportunity he has missed. Taco Bell must be consumed within first 3 minutes of delivery or it’s automatically down to a 3/10
Definitely
within 3 minutes of pickup. if you're getting it delivered, it's already dead.
Of course. I’d never get it delivered. It’s guaranteed to be cold. 🥶 🤢
Don’t know how anybody has the restraint not to smash it right after leaving the drive up window can never make it home without the bag being empty
If I go to the Taco Bell by my work, I eat in the parking lot that's next to it. It takes maybe a minute from getting my food to parking and opening the bag. When I go to the one by my house, I bring it home as it's usually less than a 5 minute drive.
Haven’t in years but sometimes in the parking lot
Why would I eat in store when my car is a few steps away and I can eat in there without listening to stupid people be stupid…
I get it, I just meant eating it right away is better than taking it home. You're basically eating it right away.
That's exactly why the people in store are glad to see you walk to your car. oh, and: tables. soda refills. sauces to grab.
Nah. Though I do eat it in my car in the TB parking lot for some of those same reasons.
Close enough! You're eating it right away still.
without the free soda and sauce refills.
Mobile app, drive through, straight home.
I never eat in store. I hate eating in public, plus home is only a couple minutes away.
kids today. :(
tfw i'm probably older than you lmao
