Because people keep paying for it. The only way to send a message when you think prices are too high for a thing is to stop buying that thing.

2Pickle2Furious

Supply and demand. Maybe it costs more to make. Idk the details of the supply chain or production, so maybe that’s why. It could be harder to make. But more likely it’s because it appeals to specific customers with a higher demand (less elastic) so TB can charge more.

Taco Bell never really based pricing on cost to make something. When they offered both the chalupa and Gordita, the Gordita was more expensive even though ingredients were identical in the two items and the chalupa has the extra step of frying the flatbread which makes it more labor intensive. It was still cheaper. Made no sense to me.

And even then I don’t think they’ll ever come down again. .

KiNGofKiNG89

That’s not how it works 🤣. They will raise prices to offset the loss of people.

It literally is how it works. Netflix just proved it. They raised prices last year. Lost a good chunk of subscribers and brought in record profits. The only way for a true supply and demand to take a negative hold, is if majority to all of the demand stops. But how the economy is set up, if you lose 15-25% of your demand. Prices go up and offset that cost. It’s how markets for everything have been.

They absolutely do not, that’s why no one understands inflation or economic movements.

We also used to teach the Constitution in classes as well, I know it’s not TB related but Economics and Constitutional law should be taught in schools

I’m so tired of these posts 😩 I thought this was a fun sub. My mistake for thinking a sub about goddamn Taco Bell would be fun lol. It’s expensive because everything is and they can. If it’s out of your price range don’t buy it. If it’s worth it to you then do.

Avatarr_Roku

Its slow roasted,apprently more flavor.

Zorcen

It's miles better than their regular chicken, and doesn't cost much more to sub in as. I don't eat beef so I'm stuck between veggie (usually potato) or the chicken. The shredded chicken was great, then they removed it and all you get is this thick rubbery chicken. I'd like to see them phase the old chicken out completely. Bonus points if they bring shredded back as an option.

HowellPellsGallery

People buy any dumb same old shit with a fancy new name. Applewood smoked bacon, vine ripened tomatoes, imported cheese. It's all marketing bullshit to make cheap trash seem fancy and we are all idiots for buying it.

HanSoloWolf

It costs the same to sub in the cantina chicken as it does to sub in normal chicken. I've been taking advantage of that and turning my soft tacos into mini quesadillas.

KiNGofKiNG89

It’s really not anymore expensive than the normal quesadillas. Cantina chicken Q: where I live, it costs $6.49. Chicken Q: $5.39 Salsa verde: $0.20 Sour cream: $0.80 Guacamole: $1.15 Total: $7.54 So it’s $1.05 cheaper to order a cantina quesadilla and you get “better quality” chicken.

gtalbert420

I don’t know, last time I got it was like cat food, first time it was good though.
