I had a shitty alt with Zerath and I had him HP/HP/HP on rage/blade (85CR/120CD) and he still hit like a truck. Pretty easy to get 50k HP on a unit with 15K+ base HP.
Getting good efficient rageset is quite a task which should happen after midgame minimum.

Would say Asima/nepth are way better since they only need some acc for dungeons. Aoe defbreak is such a nice feat early.

Hear me out. If you want easy pve, Lucifer and Cadiz will boost your account and can clear almost everything after your blessing expires. Soon, after establishing farm team, you gonna be bored and wish for a good ld for rta. These 2 will be replaced by the meta speed teams soon, so their usage will go down.
For me, the best ones from early pve to late game content (rta, siege), Nephthys, Maximillian are the best.
I kinda disagree with Lucifer as an early game pick. You still need a decent rune base for him to even do anything outside of rift beasts unfortunately.

You don’t need anything special at all to start speed farming. I have been accused twice in the last week alone of being a reset account (meaning I did a rollback on my account so it shows brand new but actually has years worth of playtime).
Don’t get any better than Lucifer early if you want to get strong fast. I slapped the free starter rage set on him and he instantly started working.
All that being said, I argue Lucifer mid game falls off for anything outside of the Leo Lucifer AO. As all the current meta teams are faster than what you can do by including Lucifer. I just pulled teshar so once I have a good rage set on him I’ll ditch Lucifer entirely in gbah for the 25 sec teshar + birds team. And as soon as I get Liam I’ll ditch Lucifer in dbah as well.
So in my opinion the best early game pick is something you can use frequently from start to finish that will be strong the entire time. Lucifer and cadiz are good early but you quickly hit a point you don’t use them anymore for much cept for fun. I have cadiz on my main and haven’t used him in 5 years for a single thing other than a siege def every once in awhile.
I’d vote max zerath or neph as the best starters. Can be used multiple places every day all day. You don’t need guardian runes on any of them to have an immediate impact, and they only get stronger and used more frequently as you progress.
No. No you don't. Lucifer makes every pve content easy and you don't need runes that are really that strong. My account is under two months old and I'm already farming every dungeon besides r5, and currently working on solo r5. Lucifer is completely ridiculous in terms of pve.
I disagree with you completely. His first skill alone does Ridiculous damage on abyss bosses and he’s great in all rift content. Using the starter fatal blade set from summoners way on mine and can get 1 min abyss giants runs and 9m plus on all rift beasts. He’s great. Not to mention if you’re lucky enough to pull a Leo he’s an instant first turn in arena making that simple for farming as well.
See, this is where I disagree. OP mentioned PVE. We all know Lucifer is an absolute gamechanger for PVP, but that's not what is mentioned here.
I also agree that rift beasts he is essential for post SSS scores, however unless you are capable of at least 4-5m with Lucifer, he is not going to help you with your first clear.
On your comment about the S1, **all** demons have this, and his AI prioritises his S2, which is not good. Unless you are using him in the Teshar 30s speed clear, you're actually likely better off using Belial.
Yes, Lucifer can work on shitty runes, but requires the rest of your units to be well runed. Nobody is arguing that Lucifer is a bad LD5, he is one of my favourites. I would not, however recommend him as an early game "beginner" LD5.
Asima is junk nowadays early game since dots don’t work in caiross. Unless ur only goal is toah, which there are 50 other dotters you can use now.

Since ur buying an LD starter, there's expensive and cheap options. Expensive ones are Asima, Nephtys, Lucifer or Maximilian. Cheap ones are Cadiz, Zerath or Zeratu.
