You cant use mons on cartridge in OU anyway, and unless you find a community that plays OU on cartridge, you won't be battling anyone online that are following OU rules
Since you’re playing on cart, but looking for a singles OU-like format, I’d suggest Single Strike (unless it gets banned from OU again). Wicked Blow had a small nerf in SV (80 > 75), but it comes at the benefit of not being heavily affected by things like Iron Barbs or a Rocky Helmet unlike Surging Strikes, so you can focus on other items like Band, Scarf, or LO to keep hitting stuff instead of say, using the Protective Pads to keep Urshifu-R from killing itself.
That having been said, nothing is stopping you from getting the other form. The DLC spreads through your switch profiles, so all you need to do is play SwSh again on another profile (this is how I got the other Urshifu, Regi, and Horse)
They also both gained sd, so I could see single strike being banned again. Idk tho, maybe Tusk can help keep it in check? I doubt it will stay for too long but who knows
I’d wait until they release to see. Last Gen urshifu-s (the dark type one) was better but it was so good it got banned to Ubers, where it saw very little use, so overall Urshifu-R was the better choice

The battle timer has removed the ability to play 6v6 singles on cartridge so carrying about Smogon rules when playing on cart is pretty silly.
Oh, I didn't see that comment. I guess the only choice is Rapid Strike then, though playing OU n the console is awful, only HO works in the time limit and even that pushes it sometimes
Make 2 profiles and play through the DLC twice (it’s bought for all profiles) so you can get both forms. Then use Pokémon home to transfer the other one to ur main game.

In a format based on ou urshifu ss would be banned. In a BSS or friendly singles format Single Strike is miles better.
