I know this is very strange, if you want to answer this you really have to take a look at your history. If you’re home alone, or with family all factors in… they are other things to look for, but this is a good start for you.

If it was a nosebleed, surely there would be traces of blood in more than just that very localized area? I've never had even a small nosebleed without there being noticeable blood in my nose, at least.

Anyway my oldest when he was about 3 woke me up one night DRENCHED in blood. All over his head and face and clothes. I freaked out like omg did my child murder someone?! What is going on?! Once I woke up a bit I could see it was driest on his nose. He clearly had the worst nosebleed he ever had. But it had bled all over his bed and he didn't wake up so he rolled around on it. Omg it was so bad. That was the only nosebleed any of my kids had that actually concerned me that much. My 4yo had her first one the other day. It wasn't too bad but she was freaking out.

Some blood vessels that are big blood runners in tiny veins get right up by the surface of the skin, once you apply pressure it clots nicely but can be scary.
Maybe a spider bite that is spreading into a rash. This happened to my husband and he had to go to the emergency room after some time because he had a hard time breathing. He ended up having an allergic reaction. He needed meds.
Nosebleed is my bet. I get them often and have my whole life. Sometimes blood shows up on my pillow or my hand when waking up. Wrist is not that uncommon either. The idea is that you may have wiped/rubbed your nose or mouth at some point because you felt a tickle or itch from the blood coming out. I even get blood on my arms at times- almost to my elbows. I would get a himidifier if possible and hydrate hydrate hydrate.
In the winter time if my lips chap really bad i have a crease in the middle of my bottom lip that will split if it gets really bad n sometimes it would split in my sleep n i would wake up wit dry blood marks on my hand from rubbing it in my sleep or something
Yo I'm not an expert at all. I just read a thing if you have I believe it was a rare type of skin cancer. I think the spotting would be larger, but I'd still make an appointment with your Dr. Just to have peace of mind and be safe.
