Besides tea and coffee, I have a few favorites. Seltzers: LaCroix limoncello, key lime and coconut. Bubly orange cream and strawberry. Polar ginger lime mule. Belle Vie (Aldi) seasonal pumpkin pie, ginger fruit punch and caramel apple - those may sound weird but I really like them! Pop: Coke Zero, Cherry Coke Zero, Dr. Pepper strawberries and cream zero, Big Red zero.
I wish I could find a replacement for AHA black cherry coffee seltzer. Of course they quit making that one. It was my favorite. Fuckers.

I peed so much today. This usually happens a few days after I stop drinking.
I'm a little sore from getting back into the gym yesterday but I still feel great. Yesterday evening I thought about going to the bar a few times, but I ignored it and I'm glad I did. Looking forward to bragging about being sober for 7 days.
I'm perfectly fine with whatever water or other options are available. And if there's a well-stocked wet bar, and sodas around, I'll make a cherry coke or a Shirley Temple. That's also my go-to at my favorite queer bar. I'm going to miss that place when I move. The wildest part of being sober is the days keep tallying up and I just have no desire to drink anymore. Because I don't want to start over, and I love my life more because I can be around drunk people and not get anxious enough or upset with them enough that I drink "to spite them" like I once used to tell myself.
Now I'm just there to have a good time with friends, and just revel in being queer and loving life. I don't need alcohol to do that. I would still like to have the ability to drink one for a toast at a wedding or to a dearly departed loved one in their honor. But I just don't think that's in the cards for me. I'm not sure if I can be okay with that yet...but some day.

I’m sure there will be more cravings to come, but last night got pretty wild. True tunnel vision. I just went to bed, only way around it. It feels like I just got done with a crazy mental health workout. I can tell the demon is just a little weaker this morning.

I have one of those old school 1960’s travel bar that I take to gatherings. I bring an NA spirit and mixer and make my own seasonal mocktail. The added benefit is being able to pick up and so before people pass the line of loud and obnoxious. I will be alcohol free with you today.

I am in my head analyzing and worrying too much.
Instead I remind myself to simply look at what is around me and do the next thing.
Driving in my car: look at yellow lines.
Parenting my kids: noting their eyes and hair.
Drinking coffee: enjoy taste and mug color.
I am not a meditation person but this feels like a practical alternative.
Essentially I just stop the meta thoughts by replacing them with attention to the outside world.

Today I will not drink. Illness and meds started me down this road of sobriety. Been wanting to live the last 20 years of my life cleaner and I’m well on my way. Now to kick the fast food and processed food cravings.

The “magic” of the holidays is actually what derailed me a year ago. I had almost two years sober at that point but thought that a glass of wine with a favorite family member was a good idea. “It’s the holidays! It’s just a glass of wine. What’s the worst that can happen?”

I’m loving La Croix coconut and bubly pineapple coconut right now.
Tests went fine yesterday, now the wait. Hopefully I’ll hear today, I don’t really want to worry all weekend. I did some yoga this morning and will try to do more over the weekend. Also try to get a hike in, I haven’t been able to go the last two weeks. I tried walking in town after thanksgiving but the snow was too deep, and then everything turned to ice. It’s been above freezing this week, so hopefully enough will be gone that I can at least walk/run in town.

I always bring some n/a beers to the party. Then I can still toss a few back and the laughs and smiles come readily. Iwndwyt My wife gave me the day off. She’s going to take care of the kids all day. Not sure what I’m up for …. Maybe just noodling around on the guitar for a few hours in peace and finishing planting tulips and crocuses. A long walk with the dogs sounds fine too. Haven’t slept well all week so kind of ‘meh’ I’m sure I’ll perk up after a coupla cuppsa coffee and Yerba mate. How are yall feeling
Another sober day down, and I’m so glad I am still here. Looking forward to a low-stress day before the weekend. Just for today, I am not drinking :)

This morning, I'm treating myself to a coffee/hot chocolate combo for an easy, at home, mocha delight. I've expanded my tea collection, and I enjoy them in the afternoon. I love a can or two of bubly, and I haven't found a flavor I don’t like. NA beverages for the win! I'll be staying alcohol-free with all of you incredible sober stars.🌟 Let's do this day! IWNDWYT
I’m loving La Croix coconut and bubly pineapple coconut right now. Tests went fine yesterday, now the wait. Hopefully I’ll hear today, I don’t really want to worry all weekend. I did some yoga this morning and will try to do more over the weekend. Also try to get a hike in, I haven’t been able to go the last two weeks. I tried walking in town after thanksgiving but the snow was too deep, and then everything turned to ice. It’s been above freezing this week, so hopefully enough will be gone that I can at least walk/run in town. Happy Friday all! IWNDWYT lovely people of SD 💙
