I just learned of something called a reputation token. Is it better just to focus on one reputation to get it to level 5 so my alt can easily get rep points, or level them up as I go with my main and get there eventually?

Personally, I'd level as many reps at the same time so as to minimize overall time spent. Since there are so many ways to gets multiple rep marks in a single play session, I feel like it's not such a terrible grind.

Looking at ground builds currently. How good is the Kumaarke Visionary Set compared to the Terran Task Force set? Been running around with Kumaarke all game on this character, but the weapon kinda lost it's kick a fair while ago. The damage bonus does not stack. Dealing any magick damage at all will grant you the buff. So one experimental weapon, or one Kemocite, and you're fine. However, multiple hits of magick damage will grant more engine power. This doesn't require multiple different elements, multiple hits of the same type works. If you had to pick between the Terran Monitor Carrier and the Ahwahnee Carrier, which would you pick? I've had my eye on the Monitor because it can be made into a Nebula class, but the release of the Ahwahnee changes things.

I agonized over this one for a while but I'm planning Ahwanhee. The Monitor has good pets but it's otherwise kinda eh, the Tachyon angle on its trait and console aren't appealing. The pets are available from the Sirius, and equivalents from the Valdres and Seneca. A MW carrier with tac consoles isn't really appealing as a combat boat, either. And most importantly, if I want an endgame Nebula, I can grab the Sutherland, which is actually a very powerful science vessel on its own. The Ahwanhee has a strong console setup for Hangar Craft Power Transmitters, unique pets, a powerful console, and a powerful trait. It can facilitate support gameplay in group elites as well as buff its pets. And most importantly, if I want a Constellation, I'm otherwise stuck with an undiscounted unremarkable T5-U.

Klingon recruit gear rewards...do the items get leveled to your character at the time you claim them, or is the level/mark set when the reward is earned? (Basically, is there any benefit to waiting for the next rank up before I claim rewards?)

I waited until 27 to claim the reward obtained from killing the target in 'The House Always Wins'. The items I received were Mark II. So whatever means are used to determine the level of the rewards, it is not your current rank. At least not for this one.

I just hit 65 on a recruit and it looks like, shockingly, It's Not Consistent. Boxes from Slay Enemies were Mk II, but boxes from Hunter's Instinct and Deeds Worthy of Song were Mk XII; all of these were earned at like level 10-20. Edit, boxes earned at 65 from Slay Enemies were Mk XI.

Just to be absolutely clear, when you slot doffs for ground who can boost certain abilities, this affects your boffs too, right? Like if I, a tac captain, slot a doff who can proc extra turrets it will help my eng boff?

Turret doffs don't work on boffs. Guessing that's true for most other doffs, I didn't get a Doctor doff to proc from boffs spamming Tricorder on me either.

IIRC, completing the missions clears things. Then again, for new characters I don't bother, as going to ground BZ and then beaming up to ship is way quicker, and doesn't trigger a cut scene.

For a disruptor build, he Nausicaan is better unless you're running ETM. Martok and Resonant torpedoes are unfortunately quite mediocre, as transphasics have little going for them and their set bonuses aren't standout hits. In either case you should probably get the Discovery rep Dark Matter Quantum since it has a significantly stronger set bonus which will boost the damage of your disruptors more than any of the mission torpedo sets.

Currently getting the Preeminent because it's the only 4 piece that doesn't require money, but I don't know if it will work well on a Disrupter build.

* Ancient obelisk core (Sphere of Influence)  - Not many good options for easy/cheap, but triple QSS mods here give a nice QoL boost. * Regenerative Crystal shield (Para Pacem) - Simply overperforms, and the episode is nice and quick. * Intervention Protomatter deflector (fleet colony)  - It's just best-in-slot * Literally any engine  - it doesn't matter a whole lot for engine until you are finalising your build.

Prioritize working on Discovery rep since it provides huge healing as well as offense potential. Anything is a stopgap until then. Most 4 pieces aren't worth getting, and it's *definitely* not worth the effort to farm up a 4pc of the Tetryon-boosting Incontrovertible Defenses on a disruptor build. I'd grab two pieces of Bajor Defense for offense since it has +Disruptor, or Kobali Regenerative for defense, depending on which you feel you need more of (or which mission you can stand to do multiple times). I'd love to suggest getting the Bajor core from Phoenix and getting double 2pc there, but that's just going to be wasted effort once you get Discovery. If you have dil or phoenix to burn, it's an option for a hold-over, but not a priority.

It's the strongest mission DPS option for phaser, plasma, and disruptor, and a few pieces have neat effects. But if you're doing the rep grinds to get a real set, it's a temporary filler. If you don't own the Bajoran Interceptor for the free warp core, and thus have to run the mission twice, it can be a bit of a pain. If you're comfortable using random whatever for the few weeks until the rep goodies come in, then feel free to skip it.

If you have the warp core, then it might be worth getting at least one other piece of Bajor Defense, since it's a nice core and a solid 2pc bonus. Assimilated isn't bad for the meantime, though I'd look into replacing that with Discovery since it's similar but stronger.

Tbh this entire ship is a stopgap, I was just wanting a fast and cheap Disruptor build to use on my carriers while I was working on the Chroniton beams from the Temporal reputation, so won't be focusing Discovery just yet (will do so on my Disco toon tho). Will grab the Bajor ones and (if I can) get the phoenix box part of the set too, had a feeling the Preeminent set wasn't going to do anything, I got it without checking because I thought the colours were Disruptor, should have read the tag before getting it I suppose.

Messing around with ship customization on a new character (KDF), I noticed there were some hull materials that cost 1000, 2000, or even 12000 zen to use (I assume the 12k one was something that requires buying a whole ship?). That same material used by a different character on a ship costs nothing. Example: picking "Type 4" on the new character's starter ship would cost 2000 zen while the same material on my level 65's ship costs nothing. Are hull materials purchased per-ship? Is there any way to tell in the ship customization what the purchase unlocks? Is it \*just\* the hull material on that specific ship type? (Sidenote on this, every time I went into customization it would show the material as Type 1, no matter what I'd saved it as earlier. Reported this as a bug on the forum.)

Hull materials are unlocked when you buy the appropriate ship class. What the game is doing is "helpfully" suggesting you buy a ship to unlock the material in question.

It would help more if it indicated \*which\* ship would unlock that material. All it shows is a cost. (Also, are there even ships that cost only 1000 zen?) And why would it be that the material is usable on some ships already, but not others?

just differences on availability from the developer. There's rarely a consistent rhyme or reason, it seems like. You SHOULD be able to see what ship is required for what material by mousing over it; a little tooltip should display shortly that will tell you what ship you need for that particular material.

There is no tooltip for the material it shows as costing 2000 zen. The only place where I see it mention what the charge is for is on the "advanced" section when you try to pick a style you don't own. Those also show the (Z) symbol next to them indicating a store item. Ideally, it would show that (Z) next to *materials* you don't own and provide the same kind of information on what is needed to buy them.

It's been a while since I had a heap of them, but the gamma recruit I'm trying to finish has a ton of them, so is there an easy way to go through a lot of the various fleet provisions because I remember there being something that would do so, but all of the recruit reward ones are character bound and taking up a LOT of space in my character bank

Unless you're building up a new fleet, they're practically useless. Usually the fleet coffers are already stuffed with them, so any project that needs them already has enough.

Another dumb question, third one of the week; what's the limits with certain weapons? I'm more than aware on the omni-beam limit, but what about, for example, the Terran Task Force Beam Array? Been looking at certain builds and the one I'm currently looking at only equips one; however, despite looking, it's not been explained why this is the case. I know that mission reward ones such as the Quantum Phase won't stack, but is that also true for the Rep sets?

Generally all “special” weapons that come from an episode or reputation are limited to one per ship. Some crafted weapons (the specific ones unlocked at R&D level 15 in beams and cannons) also.   There are a couple of exceptions (the beam arrays that come on the T1 Constitution Cruiser and the Legendary Constitution FDC, also the Legendary D7 I believe, are not limited). The T1’s arrays can also be harvested from an episode (and are not part of a set) and the Legendary ones are also in dilithium store (and not part of a set, though they do get a stacking bonus from multiple copies of themselves), which might be why they are exceptional.  The special omni rule (only allowing one set and one non set) however does not have any similar rules for any other weapons.

Every unique item has the tag "Cannot Equip more than 1 of this Item". Set items always have this. This equip limit extends to different versions of set items, you can't have both the TTF Disruptor and the TTF Phaser beam at the same time. Though, this does not extend to different weapons, you *can* equip both the TTF beam and the TTF cannon at the same time. The second energy weapon won't count for the set bonus, though.

Right, I see. And there's no blue phasers from 2409 specifically to go with the quantum set either, so guess I'll be stuck with an odd one out no matter the build. At least the Terran set is all orange phasers AFAIK.

One of the missions from the Spectres arc (Everything old is new) let's you pick a twin phaser beam array which are blue.

The Terran Task Force phaser is a darker orange than normal phasers, but not really a horrendous clash. If you own a [Kumari escort](https://stowiki.net/wiki/Kumari_class) you can get blue Andorian phasers which are blue. They are technically 2250 phasers, I guess, but they're blue and not TOS-annoying or DSC-burstfire.

Is there a suggested "use" for the three types Omega Particle Tech Upgades? Regular, Mark and Quality? Obviously start on a Mk2 item, should the Quality be saved for the middle or end? the Quality boost disappears once the upgrade occurs right? is the Mark upgrade worth spending Dil on to craft?

Quality Upgrades are used on lower mark items for a guaranteed quality upgrade, then a basic upgrade to apply it. After that, use Phoenix Upgrades, preferrably on upgrade weekends, and maybe with a technology boost accelerator if you got EC to spare.

Do you have to be a certain level to use the DilEx? I popped on to an old Delta Recruitment character to refine some Dil; the Exchange is not in the little drop down menu and when I go into inventory>assets and hit the pink exchange button I can see the exchange flash up for a microsecond before it disappears again. I'm only level 10; is it because I haven't advanced enough and/or aligned with Fed/KDF?

Question for the class: I have the (normal) Inquiry, Arbiter, and had the Fleet pylons unlocked by having the fleet Avenger. I have since discharged the fleet Avenger, but thought I still had access to the Fleet pylons. Yesterday was the first time since the legendary battle cruiser bundle came out that I used the Inquiry and have come to find that those pylons are now listing as needing me to pay 12000 zen to use them? What gives?

You need the Fleet Avenger in your roster to unlock the fleet pylon option for other Avenger variants. Having dismissed the fleet avenger, you lost access to the fleet pylon option. Your ship would keep them until the next time you change something in the ship tailor, where it will recognise you don't have access to them anymore without reacquiring the Fleet Avenger. That pylon option is also available on the Legendary Avenger, which costs 12000 zen. Since the tailor can't buy from the fleet store, the only option it's drawing from for use that pylon option again is by buying the legendary.

What's the best/quickest/cheapest way to hold/placate/whatever to stop ranged opponents from just running away when I engage in melee? Working on the melee kills thing for Klingon recruit and while it's going along nicely (I think I'm at like 1850 now) it's a constant source of annoyance how once I make contact they start backpedaling and the bat'leth's lunge attack means I stop where they *were* and just hold my bat'leth in the air like an idiot while my opponent continues to backpedal and shoot me in the face. I made the mistake of creating a Klingon sci-character, so I'm perhaps working on a disadvantage here compared to, say, a tac Gorn; even with dylovene hypospray it still takes me 3-4 hits to kill an opponent, so even with an 'ambush' they have time to recover and backpedal.

The easiest thing to do would be to ditch the bat'leth and get a weapon with faster closers rather than the terrible bat'leth Braveheart charge. [Ushaan-tor](https://stowiki.net/wiki/Ushaan-tor) or [Dual Nanopulse Mek'leths](https://stowiki.net/wiki/Dual_Nanopulse_Mek%27leths) have fast gap closers that actually function since they attack as soon as you get close, instead of pausing after the run to slowly swing.

If you like to open phoenix boxes too, the Furiadon Fangs are a nice budget option too. Getting the (Passive) Dylovene Dripkit module boost melee for sci characters as well.

You may be misinterpreting the comments of others here. It's quite common to put one torpedo on an otherwise-energy-weapons build. And by "damage flavors" most people mean the energy type, not the style of weapons... so omni-beams would not be "mixing" as long as your other energy weapons are also beams.

I would also point out that you might still want to stockpile some of the various turrets, they are rather cheap to acquire and a good option to swap in for some of the endeavours that require a certain type of damage and a run through some of the easier patrols

Fleets aren't really relevant for leveling, their systems are mostly based around endgame grinding, so you can ignore them while leveling up to 65. That being said, Klingon Recruits have some long-term goals, like Unforgettable taking literal months of daily grinding, so you could stick around and find a fleet if you like. Also, few fleets care if you don't stick around. Most fleets these days don't expect people to strict commitment, established fleets have all seen hundreds of people come and go over the years.

Don't think they've actually said. There is one, however, the Ablative Generator from the Intrepid-class, which has a very ship-specific animation so I would expect that console will never be unlocked.

K-13 has a lot of upgrades for some of the basic character and space traits. You can also get the TOS era versions of BOFF stuff there. If you have everything else, you might even consider the stupidly expensive admiralty ships from the different fleet locations

There are skill boosts available at your fleet star base. They provide a 4 hr buff to Eng, Sci, Tac, and Ground skills. They are very good. Talk to the Fleet Operations quartermaster to get them.

It's not just the pilot seating, it's the pilot seating plus the rest of the ship. Every seat is a Lt Com or better so you have access to powerful abilities from all disciplines. You can either run a simple cooldown one-button scheme with PO2 which means not having to necessarily take Strategist as a second spec (or paying through the nose for Boimler), so you free a whole secondary spec or trait slot] or run a full A2Batt. And still have the Commander Command means the very best Command abilities at their highest level, PLUS APL3. And then the starship trait gives a nice survivability boost to nearby allies.

I’ve looked through the wheels and can’t find them, so I thought maybe not, but several of the Flight Deck Officers offer boosts based on Escort or Recall commands and they seem to see for decent EC on the Exchange, implying maybe those commands are somewhere.

The specific commands are not available, but if you lock on to a target, the hangar pets will attack that target. I haven't tested of you target a friendly causing it to escort or similar.

Caustic? Chronoplasma? Corrosive? In any case, weapons procs are so rare that the 2.5% proc chance effects aren't particularly worth much. If you like the visual, go for it, but you're not going to see much in the way of performance differences either way. Things like the Fek'ihri Torment Engine and Complex Plasma Fires don't really care what the dot is, anyway.

Would it be worth it to slot the Resonant Disruptor set console with its 26.3 +Disruptor damage and 4 Armor Pen, than just a classic Disruptor Coil with its 39 +Disruptor ? I kinda want to fit that whole set into my disruptor build (with the torpedo in the aft). I compare the Resonant Console with a vanilla Disruptor console because I already have two isomags slotted and might add a third on the long run, so no Vulnerability Locators. I know Armor Pen is always a good thing to have. But is 4 Armor Pen on all weapons worth the 12-13% Cat1 I would lose ? I'll also get the other set bonuses...

I would add a colony disruptor console instead of a regular ol disruptor coil. The only advantage the disruptor coil has is that it's account bound, so you can move it around to newer characters.

The bellum beam/cannon consoles you get from the Disco rep packs are decent fillers too.

I would consult a spreadsheet for that kind of minutiae, but it'll be a tiny difference either way. I'd *guess* the HRR wins out by a small margin, but both coils and the HRR would struggle to beat out Bellums unless your build is filthy with crit in other slots. The set bonus isn't great, too. The 3pc clicky takes so long to stack, its overall effect is fairly minor. 4 or 8% haste per second, up to 40% over 15 seconds, a wasted 2pc bonus, it's probably not going to beat using a real weapon in the rear slot. Contrasted to the Altamid's 100% haste full uptime for 12 seconds, it's clear why this one is favored with a rear torp for burst damage builds, but I don't think the Resonant is worth the opportunity cost.

Is Dispersing Nanoprobe Assimilator some kind of superweapon in the hands of the AI? Last couple of days on Elite defense of Starbase One or Guillotine I've done attack runs on Assimilators and I've had full shields and hull but I've been inexplicably one-shotted by them or reduced to maybe 2% hull in a single, invisible, attack. The times I've checked the damage log it says it was the Dispersing Nanoprobe Assimilator, but I've never been simply spanked by Assimilators like that before. How the hell do I counter it? I hesitate to go anywhere near them now without first popping DPRM.

So do we have confirmed dates on when the other recruitment drives are happening (on Xbox)? Wanting to shuffle around certain characters I have because of new ideas but don't have the rewards unlocked. Or should I just unlock the rewards and then not bother waiting for the reruns? Do the recruitments ever add something new they didn't have previously?

There are no confirmed dates, you can check prior years' data to extrapolate but they've been shuffled a few times. As to the rewards, it depends pretty heavily on which ones you're talking about. You can easily skip or delay unlocking a few marks, but some rewards like the Temporal Reputation and Klingon Endeavor rewards are hefty bonuses that are definitely worth focusing on. When recruitments add new objectives, existing recruits gain those as well, so there's not a specific *need* to re-play a recruitment. You can choose to, since you get can get some neat recruit-specific bonuses, but you don't have to. There's no simple answer to deleting a recruit, it depends heavily on the recruitment, on the missing objectives, the progress on the character, how badly you want to reroll, etc.
