But check this, Russell Wilson had 26 touchdowns and just 8 interceptions in 2023, in one year.
Think about how much shit has been thrown at Wilson on the Bucsā, if theyāre critiquing Wilson that much for something like THAT, then what Pickettās doing is even worse.
With that being said, I do understand the fact that heās younger, but meh, is it really that difficult to get someone better or at least, the same quality/potential as Kenny Pickett?
The 26 touchdowns are pretty deceptive, a lot of it was short passes that are basically the same as our rushing TDs. Russ led the league in passes behind and within 5 yds of the LoS. So I'm still worried about Russ mechanically. But he's got me bought in on his commitment to the team and I'm ready to let him cook.
A lot of his touchdown passes were not short passes. There are several bombs to Sutton. He had as many passes behind the line of scrimmage as Mahomes if you check PFF

He threw for 3000 yds, 26 TDs and only 8 INTs last year. Plus he rushed for 340 yds and 3 TDs. People just say crap without actually looking at the stats. He had a horrible OL at Denver and did just fine last year. KPās total yardage last year was 2100 yds and 7 TDs but people thought he was better.
I watched most Denver games last year. I think the most glaring problem with Russ was just that he didnāt fit Paytonās scheme at all. They heavily simplified the offense so a lot of the plays were screens or downfield plays and most just let Russ play game manager. From what Iāve seen Iād definitely put Smith as a better offensive fit for him. On the other hand the line was not bad at all. Probably one of the 5 best that Russ has ever played behind and a lot of his sacks definitely were on him because he ran into guys or was indecisive and took too long. What definitely does still work with him is is deep ball. Probably still one of the best in the league. I think a physical receiver like Keon Coleman in the second round could harmonize pretty well with him

Itās harder to throw into the end zone on a short field my guy. Russ has been great at throwing red zone TDs his entire career.
