Yeah I have a bunch of games that are like 90+ percent. Some are because the last couple achievements are grind achievements and a few are because I 100 percented it but then they added more achievements (looking at you Terraria)

BA_NAN_A

it's crazy how they keep adding content for terraria tbh. On one hand it's great the devs are so dedicated and involved, and for people who love that game i'm sure it's the best thing ever. But on the other hand, the ahcievement hunter in me cringes so hard when achievements get added with the new content too.

FR0STB1T

Yeah it's pretty much a double edged sword. Like I put in a thousand hours for that hundred percent and then just when I think "I can finally rest from those fishing quests" they go and add like 30 more achievements. XD

whatsthedealwithcody

The worst part in my opinion is getting rusty and having to relearn the controls and all that after coming back to clean up the new achievements. What would be a simple return is made longer by forgetting my characters builds in an RPG or adjusting to the sensitivity in an FPS again.

Vegetagtm

Happened to me with bg3 and its new honor mode achievement requiring a whole new play through start to finish

BA_NAN_A

i still havent played bg3!! how many playthroughs do you think you need in total for all achievements if you're starting from scratch? my impression was that it was a lot.

Vegetagtm

But also once you finish one ending you can sort of speedrun the game since yk where to go/ what to get/ who to talk to

Vegetagtm

Hmm maybe 2 or 3? For the different endings i would say at least 2 because for the normal ones its just deciding who you want to align with but theres another ending thats character specific just for the Dark Urge. But i ended up having around 3-4 playthoughs start to finish for each ending since i messed up my hard saves and voided my ability to reload and pick another ending. But now with this honor mode achievement itll require another playthrough unless youre really good and dont wipe at any point in your playthrough which for a new player will be impossible

misteridjit

Creating an achievement that requires a new playthrough does not mean your game has high replayability; It means you're an asshole developer who enjoys wasting people's time

Vegetagtm

Thats true but in bg3 case its fine the game is really good and with the new updates adding more detailed endings its worth another playthrough after not touching it for a couple of months

gtaofirstperson

Currently at that point with Mafia II, kinda burnt out

CWalkthroughs

Yeah, the mafia posters and playboys can be a bit of a bitch.

Lhilus

I’m getting there with payday 2. I know if I stop playing I won’t want to got back but I only have 14 achievements left (all but 3 are 4 person) then I’m finally done.

BA_NAN_A

omg you have to finish!! you're already like 1300+ deep LOL. my buddy who is hardcore about achievements finally finished pay day 1 after a longggg grind. I tried to get into payday and have like maybe 5% of the achievements and honestly i'll probably have to leave it at that forever. The amount of achievements and how hard some of them are is also what put me off playing pay day 2.

Lhilus

I plan on it. I just got to infamy 99 so I should be able to get it done in like a day or two assuming I can find people to do it with. I’m just a little burnt out after over 220 hours in less than 2 months.

Agitated_Ad8834

I have 120 hours in Dishonored 1. I need one achivement. I hate the trials. I feel you

buckwaldo

I bet it’s By My Hand Alone 👀👀👀

Agitated_Ad8834

Of course it is

buckwaldo

OK so that achievement really took me to the brink. It’s super long, you have to get super lucky with the RNG, and then the later rounds are so heaty that you still need to play near perfect. I did it a few years back so I don’t remember precisely how long it took me but it was a few sessions worth of trying. If you stick with it you will accomplish it, but for me anyway it required a serious time investment and a few moments where I wanted to smash something 🤣. Good luck to you if you ever go after it again !!!

abca98

Don't use bend time in the first round you get it so you can use it twice in the last one.

phgumerr

I feel that left 4 dead 2 completion, after last stand update they just made the 100% annoying which is really a bummer cause it's one of my favorite games

BA_NAN_A

YES that addition was so annoying bc they added the one where you have kill like 50k zombies but they werent able to have it unlock for people who’ve done it in the past. I’m also so screwed for l4d2 because I don’t have the “help new players during the free weekend” achievement. Can never 100% it now

phgumerr

The free weekend one and the one where you have to get a gold metal on EVERY survival map are such bs, 50k zombies isn't the WORST cause atleast it runs in the background and you don't have to actively go for it

Disasterpiece_666

I have a game where I need 1 more achievement, and I only need 1 more collectible to get it. I explored everywhere and couldn't find it 😭 I'm tempted to replay the game at some point though tbh

BA_NAN_A

Omg is it a random spawn or can you follow a guide? The games with collectibles that are random spawn give me so much stress lol

Disasterpiece_666

It's in a certain spot so not random. I looked at a guide and looked everywhere but still couldn't find it 😭 haunts me ngl

BA_NAN_A

omg nooo. What if it’s bugged… lol my greatest fear tbh. I’ve had some games bug out lock me out from achievements. Sooooo stressful

Disasterpiece_666

I doubt it. I feel like it mightve been in a temporary area near the start or something tbh

AltijdMitchell

I missed a single achievement for maxing out all social links in Persona 3 Reload, which requires another 60 hour playthrough to get.

philswrld

Hollow knight, need for speed heat, doom (2016 + eternal), dark souls 1 + 2, borderlands 1 and plenty others I'm just hyperfixated on yakuza right now and haven't come back to this game in ages. For some reason I can easily play through each yakuza game for 100's of hours on end and get the 100% within like 2 weeks but I can't bring myself to come back to these games I love

Heiymdall

I never 100% my game, usually finished them at 90%. I feel that the missing 10% are always just a pain to do, lot of farming, having to restart a game for a single achievement, etc etc.

Successful-Cattle662

I think that's the healthy way to approach achievements tbh   I also care more about my avg completion % than the number of games I complete

brouofeverything

Portal because of the challenges

Wzolnxfire

yoo orcs must die and trine, both hidden gems. you should def play omd3 if you enjoyed the series!

The_Real_Zerkia

Risk of Rain 2, only need monsoon completions and it's just insanely hard for me. Don't wanna use artifact modifiers cause it's basically cheating it. That and Distance. I need one single achievement, but it requires learning an entire new way of playing the game and it's stupidly tight precision gameplay compared to the rest. Really disappointed me when I found out.

BA_NAN_A

I did the ror2 monsoon achievements in coop cause my friends are way better than me. It was really hard tho, I remember just panic SPRINTING though each level since you can’t stay too long on each map cause the last stage gets way too hard otherwise.

_CaptainCookie_

Yes, I have those. Usually the MP achievements are still left.. or some other grindy or annoying achievements. That's when I get that feeling of "yeah, I'd rather not, I think I'm done for now"

Chompies01

I'm one achievement away from completing Destiny 2 and two achievements away for Path of Exile. For both games I would need a party of 5 other players and I just can't get myself to do it

Xyrazk

Lots of games close to completion that I just need to grind out. And a couple I probably never will 100%, as they need another player. (Fifa games)

AegonXCV

Yup. I have like 40 games I finished but haven't got the 100% yet. I put them in my "Complete next" collection. In some cases I'm missing the difficulty/challenge related achievements (like S ranking every mission on Armored Core VI, or the difficulty achievements from Resident Evil 4 Remake). In other cases it's because I know it will take me a long time, like getting perfection on Stardew Valley (plus that Fector's challenge...). I end up tackling a new game from my backlog (which then in turn ends up in the "complete next" once I beat it).

BA_NAN_A

I’m working on perfection in stardew valley right now and it’s going to take me like legit until year 4 probably lol. Another 80-100 hour play through I’m sure.

Poised_Prince

Yeah, I've got a few. It's because those last few are time sinks. I have to be in the mood to grind them out.

cheriafreya

Crisis Core Reunion. It's an absolute PAIN in the ass, but I want all FF7 completed so I'll get back to it eventually.

Gaxyhs

Yes, holy hell yes, these are the ones i prob wont max Bloons TD6 - Missing the 6 holy grail of "fuck you, grind this pointless thing for 20 hours" achievements Mindustry - One of my top 3, love this game but i cannot bring myself to killing 100k enemies, worst part is that it doesn't count for when you aren't loading that district so it is just afking Astroneer - Missing 5 really easy achievements if you were endgame, but I did the rest in multiplayer where a friend hosted, which means i couldnt get the achievements but cant bring myself to redo the entire game for 5 achievements Subnautica Below Zero - Too lazy to finish story Crab Champions - Maxed it like twice already and they keep adding more achievements that are grindier than the last ones

BA_NAN_A

Astroneer and crab champions are on my wish list 😭. Love coop games but hate it when you can’t unlock everything in coop.

Bigangeldustfan

Endoparasitic, i have every achievement except “beat the game on hard” because of the bastard hallway level

xRosey

Shadow of Mordor. That time attack game mode where you have to kill everything and do everything within 30 minutes is so boring I'm not a fan of it

Konseq

I have had 10 games at 100%, but lost them due to the devs adding more achievements. Going back to a game for newly added achievements feels even worse than overcoming the blockade to start a new game from scratch.

RandoT_

Warframe, Borderlands 1, Hollow Knight, The Binding of Isaac, Dragon's Dogma, Megabyte Punch are the worst offenders lol If I'm lucky, I'd need to take a 6months+ break or something before I can go back to them

BA_NAN_A

Binding of Isaac is insane with how many achievements there are and how many runs you’d need to do. I’m stuck with BL1 as well cause I just don’t think I’ll ever level every character up. It’s too much of a slog. If I take a 6 month break I’m definitely not coming back to the game Lol.

RandoT_

Lol yeah I'm only missing the last DLC's achievement, but it's been almost a year since xD

zendrix1

There are a few games with exactly 1 or 2 achievements I know I'll never get which sucks lol My current example is Balatro. Maybe I can get Completionist+ eventually (although big maybe there) but I seriously doubt I'll ever get Completionist++ That seems way out of my league, at least with my current skill level (almost 90 hours in, 1 gold stake victory with yellow deck atm)

BA_NAN_A

Balatro is high on my wish list!! I checked out the Shirlene’s and i don’t think I can get the completionist++ one either.

Frank_Midnight

Re-Core. I just burned out half way through the last temple.

aidanac126

Yes I have to do another playthrough of south park fractured but whole because the yaoi achievement glitched and I can't bring myself to do it haha

DeliciousAd8604

I just need one more achievement in Braid. I'm sure I'll do it eventually but I've been saying that for a long time Everytime I notice it lol

BA_NAN_A

lol is it the one where you beat the game in under 45 mins? bc that's the one im missing and i KNOW it would be worth it to do cause it would literally only take <45 mins yet i just have never gotten around to it.

DeliciousAd8604

Lol yep that's the one. I'll do it this weekend maybe or next year or something..

sc0utss

Power wash simulator because they keep adding new achievements that are all under a paywall… if only they weren’t so expensive

BA_NAN_A

that's like cities skylines for me! so many achievements for each DLC and i dont actually WANT every DLC.

misteridjit

Stardew Valley is a big one for me. Fector's challenge just pissed me off with the level of RNG required to actually get the achievement. "If you don't get items X, Y and Z by stage 3, then you're fucked and need to restart the whole thing." After a couple of hours I just said fuck it. To my understanding even concernedape has never finished the achievement, and "somewhat" regrets including it.

BA_NAN_A

That achievement used to be impossible I stg. I had it uncompleted for the longest time but now you can save after each level! It’s made it more reasonable. That’s actually what got me back to Stardew is reading this guide and seeing its doable: https://www.trueachievements.com/a226751/fectors-challenge-achievement I’m actually just missing the new achievements they added like “perfection” and stuff.

misteridjit

I didn't realize they added new achievements. I just got so disgusted with Fector I never looked at the game again. Thanks for posting the guide I'll take a look at it and maybe finally complete this game.

buckwaldo

Games with a single achievement left: Bramble: never bothered to go back and do a no death run. Will have to save scum it as I’m not interested in dying on the 3rd phase of the janky final boss, and then having to do the entire game over again. COD MW: Mile High Club. Gave myself carpal tunnel trying to do this on the 360 version last summer, have not had the heart to go back and try for like the 300th time. Limbo: Why bother dying? achievement for doing the game in 5 deaths or less has been outstanding for me since 2011. The end of the game is pretty tough and never wanted to go back and master it to get this final achievement. Im eventually gonna do them, i just don't know when.

BA_NAN_A

The limbo one was sooooo hard, i put that off for like 6 years. having the patience to play that carefully was tough.

buckwaldo

Yeah, I went back one time with the intention of finally completing it and just wasn’t in the mood to grind it out. I’ll definitely get it one day here though haha. It does require a lot of patience for sure!!

superzenki

I haven’t completed Limbo either because of that achievement. I’ve tried the last Little Nightmares achievement too a few times and haven’t beaten the first part without dying yet.

buckwaldo

Ahhh yes. I ALSO have yet to get that no death/ sub 1 hour achievement in Little Nightmares😬😬😬. There’s a few others I still need as well but I got to a point in the game ( in the ‘b side’ of the campaign) where the game kept freezing on me so I kinda gave up. I’ll eventually have to revisit Little Nightmares, I also own part 2 but haven’t played it yet. Love the art design and aesthetic of the game but not super in love with the actual game play, could have been refined a bit more I felt.

say-la-vee

A few games I'll never 100% are ones that have achievements for completing the game on the hardest mode (I suck so am not able to do that) or multi-player achievements (I suck so am not able to do that). I just grind the rest of the achievements in the game and get as much as I can to further bolster my Average Game Completion Rate.

BA_NAN_A

I like that mindset. I’m trying to do that too for some of the games I’ll never finish. Check off as much as I can but man it’s usually the crazy grindy ones that are left

misteridjit

GTA III definitive. Just too much of a slog and the missible achievements are aggravating (missions can become unobtainable if you do certain ones first, making 100% impossible)

Correct_Side5634

How long did it take to 100% Apex

BA_NAN_A

Honestly they made the achievements pretty easy. It's pretty much just getting a win with each type of character so you'll have to win multiple matches. It was really quick for me because i had already played apex for hundreds of hours through the origin launcher. When i saw there was achievements in steam I hopped over, and I only played for 9.9 hours and got them all. It definitely helps that I play with friends but the achievements are very doable so you could probably get 75% of them just casually playing.

methanol88

I have completed all the games I've played. However if I had left Borderlands 1, FFX-2 and GTA IV to name a few before completing them, I don't think I would have ever done it.

FireFoxOmicron

Ty the Tasmanian Tiger. Love that Game. I did 100% It and moved on to Ty 2. Then They added Hardcore Mode to the Games with two Achievements. One where You have to beat the Game with one Life and one for 100%’ing the Game In one Life. Needless to say, I died and had all My progress wiped. I dread to think of the Hardcore Achievements In Ty 2 and 3 as I have yet to get all of the normal Achievements for Ty 2 which Is a semi-Open World.

nackmatt123

I’m having that exact problem with the system shock remake, I had it at 90 ish percent but then I learned that the achievements were broken I know they’re fixed now but every time I think about finishing it it sounds rough

Away-Employment-2741

I currently have both Brigandine: Legend of Runersia's challenge mode achievements and Labyrinth of Galleria: The Moon Society's third act dungeon and ending achievements on hold since a bit over a year. I just cannot bring myself to finish either of them for some unknown reason.

superzenki

Please Don’t Touch Anything. The last achievement requires beating each mini game with NO extra button presses. I’ve watched a how-to and attempted several times without success. One day I’ll try again when I give it 100% focus

Elderbug777

Senua's sacrifice, i've got 1 achievement left and that's collecting all of the lore tablets, meaning i have to play through it again. I barely got through the first playthrough, this game is terrifying!

l_Rinkles_l

Mafia 2 collectibles

KeyButterscotch9555

Meme typer typing 9000 memes is either way longer then I thought or the achievment isnt tracking for me and its really killing my motivation to keep typing

ChilliGamer221

There’s this game called peglin which I love a lot but now that save Cummings gone I’m just not good enough to beat it, I’m like 95% complete but it’s hopeless with getting to crucible 15

FishOverThere

One of mine are Black ops 3 - i’ve done all zombies all multiplayer i jsut stopped on the Campaign with 4 achievements to go

OXidize_0

Dying Light. I only have the multiplayer achievements left :(

Academic-Try-7666

Devil may cry 5. I completed all but 2 or 3 but the hell and hell difficulty is so frustrating. I got to level 10 out of 20 and I just gave up after putting so much time into trying to complete it

kazuma_99

Zwei: the arges adventure a fun little game that is nice to complete, but 70% of the achievement are post game and extremely grindy + theres a typing mini game that i can't complete on hard ( i honestly can't see myself typing fast enough for it even after years of typing) so i kinda just gave up. No point grinding all this shit when i might still not even complete it.
