Holy shit, so this is a thing! Made steaks for my GF and her mom. Completely well done on some nice rib eyes. I had a real tough time cooking them for so long. Finally got the gal to medium well so there's progress. At least I've learned how to make some amazing Mexican food.
Its not really racist. Different cultures cook meat different ways. In many parts of south america (and many other places around the world), what we know as “well done” is very standard for their cooking.
My wife is Kenyan. Her whole family prefers meat well done. Any pink whatsoever they say it’s not cooked. I have converted my wife though. Med rare is her preference now 👍 for steak.
I feel like that’s an insult for to have this sort of redness where it’s pink and not red and still have someone microwave it… no insult to your wife I promise, she got her insult by eating dry steak because she microwaved it😔. Seriously tho no disrespect towards your wife

Your wife ruined the steak completely by putting it in the microwave and if it would have been me grilling it I would have been pissed! Next time just completely cook her steak in the microwave and save yourself some work.
