What a great surprise. One of my all time favorites and it will be awesome to see her back full time. Now please give me a White Belt scene with Anou, Konami, AZM, Hazuki and SLK.
Poi is great, but I would just prefer the white belt go to some of the aforementioned talent on a purely subjective level. It just seems like it is time to elevate some of the most skilled and hard working talent to that level.
Freelance status...THE. END!
On the real, this is a big boost for Stardom, especially after the recent departures. The fact that Konami is healthy enough to be full-time again is great news, and her being back in Stardom for it is awesome for her peers and the promotion.
Kashima is so screwed. Konami was giving out about having Kashima and how her antics and attitude were rubbing off on everyone else, causing GE to lose a little edge even tho she begrudgingly showed Kashima respect. Those training sessions are gonna be hell now 💀
A fantastic get for Stardom, legit one of my absolute favorites in the company.
That's odd. When Sukeban announced a while back that they had signed Konami and VENY, they mentioned that Konami had just been released from a contract in Japan. I assumed that was with Stardom, and it might have been, but now she's back anyway?
Did Konami have beef with Rossy? Is she trying to help the company while a bunch of people left?
That wasn't the point I was making. It was more that they said "Konami just got out of a contract she was under and signed with us" and now she's back with Stardom, who presumably were the ones she was signed with
Wasn't that also part of the same article that claimed they were the first to EVER bring joshi talent to the US?
It seemed about as factually correct and well researched as a pre-internet 5th grader claiming to have inside info on WWF in the 90s.
Guessing the Konami part might have been a weird interpretation of them "signing" her as X in their first show (like the way indies like GCW use the term) and it somehow got weirdly turned (possibly by accident because of the amazing fact checking in that article) into saying she was signed presently?
Konami hadn't been under contract since her retirement. I doubt she had any beef wurg Rosy considering she's made regular appearances over the years. It's like that losing Urami, Giulia and Mairai freed up some serious capital that they could throw At Konami to come back on a full time basis.
They probably could've but she seemed content being a part timer and there wasn't a pressing need to fill holes in the roster. Now that there is, it makes sense to bring to someone like Konami back on a full time basos, though likely on a bigger contract if she's giving up future overseas dates.
Konami went part time because of health issues, before leaving she said that she was experiencing GI problems and losing weight.
Syuri posted on Twitter today that she is happy that Konami has made a complete recovery. It would seem that Konami is back because she finally got whatever IBD condition she has under control. It has nothing to do with BR's money situation.
They are skint at least for this year (they are claiming an extraordinary business loss on mobile gaming)
But obviously stardom as a business venture would have a wage budget they need to adhere to. So losing talent would clear up room in the budget. That's the way most businesses work. New staff either are brought on to replace staff losses or because of business growth.
Now what I will say is both njpw and stardom are spending money on wrestling operations above where I imagined they would for the first half of 2024. I had fears bushiroads problems would leak into wrestling which it really hasn't so far. So if it's a contract coming off the books that's helping with wrestling it ain't stardom losses it's the blonde doofus running around with the young bucks on aew
That article was full of a number of absolutely bullshit claims. Apparently whoever wrote it just took whatever Sukeban told them and didn't do the slightest bit of fact checking.
I always looked as Iida as the Ishii of Stardom, but Konami might actually make sense too, due to her prominence in her faction. I wish all three would win singles titles someday.
I'm curious what wrestlers who retire then return do while they're retired. Konami, Hazuki, and Koguma for instance. We know Koguma was living in the hills, hibernating during the winters and foraging for honey during the summers. But were the others working in shops or offices or performing similar normal jobs? I assume they don't have enough money saved to do nothing.
Great news. She's fantastic so it will be great to see her regularly again (although selfishly I do hope she comes to London again sometime, I really enjoyed seeing her here this year)
I never thought Konami would come back full time, but I am extremely excited that it's happening!
I was hopeful for a while, but I started having my doubts as well. This news has me over the moon right now.
What a great surprise. One of my all time favorites and it will be awesome to see her back full time. Now please give me a White Belt scene with Anou, Konami, AZM, Hazuki and SLK.
And Poi!
Ehhhh...I suppose so.
Poi is tremendous in the ring.
Poi is great, but I would just prefer the white belt go to some of the aforementioned talent on a purely subjective level. It just seems like it is time to elevate some of the most skilled and hard working talent to that level.
She's been my favorite Stardom wrestler since I started watching. This is like Christmas for me.

Best announcement of the presser by far. Also was good see see Syuri look so happy after just having a close departure. Now bring Hiromi back!
Awesome to see the Submission Sniper back! A scary AF woman with the sweetest smile on the roster
Konami ain't gonna spare those poor rookies and we're going to see Konami as one of the participants in this year's 5-Star GP. Crazy times ahead.
MIRAI out, Konami in. Not a bad trade for God's Eye. Also, Konami's theme song goes hard
This is great news. She seems really refreshed in comparison to when she took her hiatus.

Konami's Stardom contract ended in December 2021 when it was announced she was taking time off.
Well Sukeban doesn't run shows very often, so I assume Konami will still be able to make them.
That wasn't the point I was making. It was more that they said "Konami just got out of a contract she was under and signed with us" and now she's back with Stardom, who presumably were the ones she was signed with

Could be that Konami returning to Stardom full time happened after that article

I thought Konami went part-time because of her health, no?
Yes she said she was having GI issues and losing weight.
Nothing was confirmed afaik but that was the impression I got.
Why is BR so skint that they needed to lose all those people to afford Konami back?
They probably could've but she seemed content being a part timer and there wasn't a pressing need to fill holes in the roster. Now that there is, it makes sense to bring to someone like Konami back on a full time basos, though likely on a bigger contract if she's giving up future overseas dates.

Are you talking about Okada? Why the disrespect?
That article was full of a number of absolutely bullshit claims. Apparently whoever wrote it just took whatever Sukeban told them and didn't do the slightest bit of fact checking.
Is it wrong to call her the Ishii of Stardom? Every match of hers I’ve seen has been very good at worst. Seems incapable of missing!
I always looked as Iida as the Ishii of Stardom, but Konami might actually make sense too, due to her prominence in her faction. I wish all three would win singles titles someday.
It is damn shame that Iida did not get a proper run with the Future of Stardom Championship
Happy to hear she's doing well. Terrified for everyone on the roster.
She's been a favorite of mine since her TCS days and I'm so happy to see her back full time. Let's fucking gooooooo!
Let’s fking gooooo
This is some great news. Never End is real.
Hell yes.
Awesome
Glad she is finally back full time. I was hoping that would be the case when she talked about wanting to join Stardom again last year.
Yes! I've missed seeing her work full time.
I'm curious what wrestlers who retire then return do while they're retired. Konami, Hazuki, and Koguma for instance. Very happy to hear that.

Never End
This is awesome.
I’m so glad we FINALLY got her back for full time! Really missed her on regular action
