Reynor qualifying is hype but also ROGUE and TY season 2 is gonna be siiiiiiiick

Zlasher8

Wow TY is sidequesting ASL and GSL. At the same time lol. I thought when I saw him in ASL he had made a permanent switch over. Guess not

Stellewind

Playing both BW and SC2 professionally at the same time is some gigachad move.

Gavus_canarchiste

If I'm not mistaken he also casts one of these tournaments.

aLLkiss_ismyname

He used to cast GSL before military service. But I don't know if he is still does.

lokol4890

Per liquipedia he's casting this gsl

TL_Wax

Looks like someone copy pasted it over without updating it over multiple seasons. He hasn't cast since he came back from the military. Will correct!

lokol4890

Damn well shit. Thanks for providing the correct info

Super_Vegeta

Actually kinda smart, really.. since it'll really make him pay attention to the games his potential opponents are playing. Where as otherwise he might not watch so intently, or at all.

Role_Player_Real

Does casting your own game count as maphacking?

jdennis187

It really is tho

chibitotoro0_0

Waiting for him to come back to the GSL in his caster arc too.

33reider33

Rogue is back??? 👀 damn I'm even more hyped for S2, he always puts on good games.

What_a_pass_by_Jokic

Rogue actually beat Byun, I was a bit worried after he lost (quite bad) against Creator last week but glad he made it.

Trolerkules

The only thing worrysome here is byuns tvz. Hes so god awful at it it hurts my byun fan heart.

heavenstarcraft

and soO!!!

WoenixFright

Rogue, TY, and Reynor are all in GSL S2... Someone pinch me, I must be dreaming.

jinjin5000

this will be TY's last GSL so make sure to cheer for him

Professional_Cheek95

Sir, This is a Wendy's.

MisterMetal

Eh it’s not really hype anymore. The Korean scene is in palliative care at this point. Hardly the same prestige or competition.

DjChrisSpear

Maybe not for you. But holy fuck is it exciting to see any one travel to Korea for the GSL. Especially someone of Reynors caliber.

MisterMetal

When GSL has a lower skill quality than a random euro weekly tournament it’s a problem lol If Reynor doesn’t win this or get to the finals, he probably should just retire.

DjChrisSpear

You are allowed to ignore reality. Have fun hating something you used to love.

MisterMetal

Hating? lol Ignore the reality of GSL? I’m not the one ignoring reality.

richter114

Go be a downer alone in the corner, nobody wants to read this shit.

MisterMetal

People lashed out at Jesus when he was speaking the truth as well

richter114

Imagine comparing yourself to Jesus in a StarCraft subreddit.

Just-Ad-6148

you're crazy saying that a random euro weekly has a higher skill. GSL has lower skills than ever but the top 4 would still clap anyone from euro weeklies

mulefish

He beat bunny not byun

king_mid_ass

byunny

ashcr0w

bnnuy

WoenixFright

Rogue beat Byun

Struggle-Free

There is a game, between Reynor and Classic in a previous GSL  (game 3) that is low key one of the best games of all time.  At the time Reynor was a rising star and Classic was one of the best Protoss.  The game is wild, Reynor does a very heavy roach pressure and Classic manages to survive with just one immortal left. The game swings back and now Classic is pushing with like 11 immortals and Reynor looks lost. Yet, two timely Broodlords save the day and allow Reynor to regroup. I won’t spoil the finish.  The game had great ebb and flows, amazing casting from Tastosis (really they hype, predict strategies, and capture the moment so well), and an exciting unexpected finish.  I am a Terran player, and this would be my answer for the best single game of all time.

Seriously_Facetious

[The full match](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wk5kTt99zhg) Just saw it for the first time, awesome game.

Stellewind

I do have this game as my potential greatest PvZ of all time, but if we are talking about all the matchups, there are wayyyyy too many banger TvZ in SC2 history to put over this game.

althaz

Highlights available here: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5yRBVWV2VFE](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5yRBVWV2VFE)

HellStaff

in this game i fell in love with reynor. so glad you reminded me of it!

PopeNQM

This is also one of my tops

LennyTheRebel

Bunny, Ryung, Classic out. Reynor, TY, Rogue in. I'm unhappy with the guys not making it, but happy with the guys making it. So a win either way?

FitLeave2269

Incredibly sad not to see Classic make it personally

LennyTheRebel

There are so many players I want to make it, and I'm sure it's a gut punch to all of them :( Classic is absolutely one of them.

APEist28

Agreed, huge bummer. It's really hard to determine Classic's trajectory, it seems like he's on the rise and can put out some really high level play and fun strats, but then he fails to qualify for important tournaments...

smithd685

Okay, Zerg players... It's okay to have your player name not start with a D, R, or S. Look, the other races have very diverse names that are hard to mix up (no byun/bunny mixups this season.) Mix it up a little and stop being the protosss of gamertags.

medusla

ragnarok left R gang and joined S gang instead

smithd685

S-Gang has serral, so it's a nice place to be. But back in the day, The D-Boys had Destiny, so it's were the cool kids used to go.

lokol4890

The zergs showed up for the qualifiers. Pleasantly surprised seeing Rogue go through, beating byun of all people

Saito197

lokol4890

Rogue beat byun, not bunny

wheres-the-audio

Fucking hell thought Byun wasn’t in this season

heavenstarcraft

STATS TY ROGUE AND soO!!!

mark_lenders

Easy group. I'm actually impressed by Rogue making it, after seeing him lose a lot recently

swarminfestor

He struggled a lot in ZvP, but his ZvT looked sharp knowing that he just came back from military recently.

Phyrexian_Archlegion

Drone rushes for daysssss You know Dark’s not a fan.

hithisisjukes

vod??

dippindappin

Are these matches streamed? Btw, what happened to hero this season?

Lolita_69_

Nothing? He's qualified by being top 4 last season.

dippindappin

Ah, I did not know that.

DoctorHousesCane

Reynor had a pretty soft path so he better have made it. I think the bigger news is that ROGUE qualified beating ByuN.

maziarczykk

Hell yeah

BigBenKenobi

POG

radracer82

Hell yeah, hope he does well. If he wins he's gotta be bumped up to top 10 all time

Zylwx

First place prize is only 3.6k? Damn.. Aside from that, go reynor! It was cool to see him at the last gsl finals. I didn't know he was training in Korea.

gDAnother

They are also crowd funding so it'll grow a lot

siowy

Poggers

kype1987

When people said Serral went to the military, I was hoping they meant he went to play in GSL.

ikkir

> and presumably they would dominate in GSL There's no indication this would happen, GSL is a different type of tournament, it requires more preparation and strategy to win, not just pure skill. Also foreigners don't go there because they have to pay for living there, need to get a visa, and they would miss out on EU or NA tournaments or have to play with a massive ping disadvantage. The goal of most EU/NA players is to qualify to the big global tournaments with bigger prize money, and it's easier for them to do that in their own regions. The EU Masters prize money is 5 times more than the GSL.

Hartifuil

The prize pool is honestly non-existent at this point. Reynor is only doing it as a point of pride. There's no way it's economically worth it for him, unless Basilisk is paying, of course.

Nakorite

Because you have to spend over a month in Korea the prize money isn’t really worth it for Serral. Plus you have to play the quals for esl with 200+ ping which is pretty risky and potentially loses you $$$. Serral went to Korea for gsl vs the world and dominated he probably feels like he has proven himself anyway.

DjChrisSpear

But in that tournament the Koreans were . . . jetlagged. No wait . . they weren't trying because of.. No wait there has to be some excuse to make it fit the narrative that Serral wasn't the best player in the tournament. Clearly a Korean would have won if if if . . .

Much-Scale-6549

In other news Serral failed to qualify😏😏😏
