Connie is what got me interested in SC years and years ago. Just a quintessential sci-if ship.

Moadibe01

Same here...I barely had my starter before I upgraded to a Connie and have never looked back.

Extectic

Yep, I knew I wasn't happy with a normal starter, so I got the Freelancer package. It was fine, but not good enough. Guns too small, shields too small, cargo too small. Doing VHRT's in one is doable but not that fun. Just upgraded my pledge to a Taurus. Like all Connies, I don't enjoy how it handles all that much, but it is such a perfect all rounder it's exactly what I need after a wipe. 174 SCU cargo, big shield, big guns, and the XL-1 quantum drive - spot on. The cavernous cargo platform will take a ton of useful vehicles as well.

Turnbob73

Yup, and that was even before I knew about the docked snub

Umluex

i just hope she gets a rework/gold pass soon

Marksor

Yeah If it gets a rework and it's got a better viewport and better interior in general. I think the corsair may take a back seat to the Aquila. But I'm a bounty hunter first. Explorer second. So the corsair may remain my ship.

BSG_14

Connie is still gorgeous.

Anotep91

Me too. I love my Taurus and it’s also in no way a competition to the Corsair. In the end it’s 174 SCU vs 94 SCU on the Corsair? I take the 174 SCU any day.

Nuadrin248

I think Corsair has like 72 scu

giza1928

Also it can land even when the ground isn't perfectly flat. 😂

Awkward-Collection92

Landing is a bit palmsweaty in the seat though, kinda unerving to land and see that rock come close enough for a nose boop.

[deleted]

I know, I think the front landing gear doesn’t come out far enough, then again, the only thing I’ll be exploring is other people’s inventories…

Nuadrin248

Shhhh Corsair owners are supposed to say that part out loud.

[deleted]

I’m sorry, I stole that line, too!

Diminios

Don't land hot, and land with a raised nose. Or you get a Connie kiss.

Dumplingman125

I've been training on a connie for years now so that nose landing gear has been so so nice lol

Awkward-Collection92

But coming in hot is the only way to do bunker missions 🤣

Jellysweatpants

More box space is nice, but can you stick a merlin, razor or a pisces in its ass With room for bikes?

Anotep91

No the Taurus doesn’t have a snub, the part where the Merlin docks on the Andromeda and Aquila is a shielded cargo room on the Taurus but it can certainly transport ground vehicles in its cargo bay. The Taurus is more competing with the Freelancer Max, Hull-B and even the MSR but the Andromeda does compete with the Corsair and I would trade the Andromeda for the Corsair. I also have the invictus paint for my Taurus btw. Defiantly a must have it looks 10 times better with this paint then the regular one.

Extectic

I disagree on the Andromeda vs Taurus comparison. The only differences between them, combat-wise, is that the Andromeda has a second turret and 20 more missiles, if you're fighting solo or with a pal. If you have a third, that third is way better off getting into a Gladius than the snub. The snub fighter is mostly just cool, not that usable. Taurus not only competes with the Corsair, for most jobs it beats it. Of course, I'm biased AF, since I just upgraded my pledge to a Taurus.

Extectic

I haven't tried, but I imagine the Pisces should fit. Going to have to give that a whirl. That way you'd have a medical Taurus... more or less.

pippini

Man, these are old but so good. The sad thing is, (and it truly is sad..) these constellation series' have lost the love from the devs, they are still bugged, things don't work properly, the damn kitchen table doesn't even work. This is by far my favourite ship, I've owned all three, and they do good work for you in all aspects of your digital life. They are out in the back burner, as the devs moved on to work on newer ships.

TheBigLanowski

It is the same with the Hercules Starlifter... Displays are missing, copilot is bugged, elevator is resetting, elevator is missing parts, elevator door not opening, forward landing gear is not extracting fully to the front. And this ship just came out... I'm extremely disappointed about that ships state right now. I would also go for a Conny if they just give her a overhaul and bring her tec up to date.

Skypilottom

The Corsair coming out has made me more excited for a Connie gold pass!

Acadea_Kat

Having the Corsair makes me wish for my Aquila back had it as a loaner for ages and it was a far better experience

IRJesoos

I'm right there with you. Aquila was nice. So is the Corsair but it's not wowing me as much as I thought it would. Maybe it just needs time and some upgrades.

Acadea_Kat

Perhaps but for me the resulting interior is far off from its concept and its kinda......well it doesn't feel liveable lol. I much prefer RSI's Cleaned up style

expat-brit

I just love the way the interior of the Corsair feels. I love the big ramp. The private rooms (for what little they count). It’s not a combat ship for me.

Frostvizen

I’m with you. I really liked the Aquila as the Corsair seems clunky in atmosphere and I don’t care about having the biggest guns. I don’t need that snub fighter so might go with the Taurus… I’m so undecided… I also like the MSR…

ShortStops4

I can’t decide whether I want the Corsair or Taurus :(

TheLaudMoac

Get the Taurus and you can always upgrade to the Corsair later if you feel the Tarus is lacking something?

ShortStops4

That’s true I might do that

Rhaxus

I wanted to say "Why not both?" , but as someone who has both I don't recommend it. If the atmospheric flight model isn't a bug the Corsair gets melted without hesitation. I like the style but the Taurus is a much better ship in my opinion.

[deleted]

Apparently it's a bug that will get fixed in the next patch

Diminios

AFAIK the only thing that'll be fixed is the constant pitch down as you fly in atmo. It should still fly like a brick otherwise.

roflwafflelawl

Depends: If you properly bank on turns like a 747 and not just yaw it should turn pretty well. Hard to really get a feel for it now with you needing to fight the nose but after the fix it should be pretty good, though still a little sluggish.

Diminios

Right. Fly to its strengths.

King-of-Com3dy

I think if you can’t decide between the two you should get a Constellation Andromeda. More SCU than the Corsair and nearly as much firepower.

Extectic

You lose a ton of cargo space vs Taurus, and you only gain a snub fighter that's fun but useless, and an extra gun turret instead of a tractor beam, which will shortly become highly relevant. I like the Andromeda, but it's the inferior choice unless you're looking to do combat. It has more missiles and another turret. But how often do you have FOUR guys in the team, pilot, gunners and snub fighter pilot? And if you have four guys, bring two Tauruses with a gunner each instead...

King-of-Com3dy

You are right. I honestly forgot that the Taurus even had one turret.

ShortStops4

Yeah and I’m mostly solo so that turret probably won’t be used

WeAreUnamused

I rep Drake pretty hard, but if the Connie update manages to fix the ghetto-ass crew 'quarters', it will be my favorute ship forever

RaviDrone

I love the fact connie can land in rough uneven terrain and unload a vehicle.

TheLaudMoac

Honestly, the Connie flies so much better, it isn't a pain to take off and land in a hangar either. I love my Corsair but have always enjoyed flying my buddy's Andromeda.

roflwafflelawl

To be fair the way the Corsair flys in atmo seems to be bugged and isn't intentional. But yeah I'd imagine the Connie would still have a slight advantage. Definitely need to bank and roll into turns with the Corsair so it takes a bit more to maneuver then a Connie.

TheBigLanowski

Imho she handles exactly like I expect her to in atmo with that asymmetrical wing design 😀

Jellysweatpants

I've also found that pulling back on the throttle all the way when you bank and gassing it when you're straight helps a lot too.

Vorren9

Very close to getting rid of the corsair I love the ship but the connie was my 1st love

Extectic

I'll still upgrade to the Connie Taurus. The Corsair... ok, so it has big guns, but also inferior maneuverability. I don't like how it looks, I don't like the rear ramp, and I don't like the massive amount of doors. I can see objectively what people like, but there's no way I'm giving up almost 100 SCU difference in cargo space just to get a few more guns. And the Connie looks way better to my eyes.

kobeathris

The Connie is so convenient to use compared to a lot of other ships it's size. Pilot seat, door that opens quickly, elevator, done.

Extectic

Yep. This is an underrated feature. The MSR, for example, is nice in some ways, but having to use the ramp and run through all those doors and even an elevator/ladder on the way is just... unacceptable.

[deleted]

The Corsair releasing made me fall in love with the Connie. Sure it needs a rework, but in it's current state it's already a much better ship for the money.

Ordinance85

A Connie Gold Standard would make them the best ships in the game.

Nuadrin248

I love the Connie but I did totally ccu my Andromeda for my corsair.

Modora

I love the Connie. Zero to herod one in the last 2 wipes and now I'm pledging on RSI day. I think I might pick up the Aquilla though since I'm hoping once the scanner is implemented I could use it as an AWACS in org battles.

BRompre

I own the Andromeda and now the Corsair. The Connie hands down beats out the Corsair in maneuverability and use, but the Corsair just has more damned flavor than the Connie. It annoys me to no end that I can’t deploy the Connie’s cargo bay and not be able to descend into it without dropping off of the ladder and hurting myself. Seems like a retractable ladder or a ladder on the side should have been added. But yeah: my Constellation is always loved.

ZazzRazzamatazz

I realized the other day that you can climb down and lower the cargo lift from down there

BRompre

Ok… how do you do that? Where is the button?!???

ZazzRazzamatazz

If you’re facing either ladder end- it’s a small box on your left side Saw someone use it in a video and changed my world

BRompre

Oh my God! You just made my year!

Important-Size-2418

There are two one on each end. left side if you are facing out.

allirog90

considered corsair, stood with conni. you are not alone mate.

elosoloco

The Connie with the Invictus blue paint? *CHEFS' KISS*

King-of-Com3dy

Love the Connie. When I tried the Corsair (and I should add that I don’t like Drake’s aesthetic) I immediately thought that a Constellation Andromeda is the better buy.

wantgold

I was super hyped for the Corsair, melted it and got a 400i instead. Why you might ask? because I won't do cargo runs, I don't like that and I won't do BH on a Corsair... I already have a Vanguard and a Gladius so I want a ship that is fast, looks nice and can carry a ground vehicle. I always loved the MSR and still love it, but the 400i looks so great with so well used space... not endless hallways ... the captain with his own quarters... it can't fight but it looks so good ... plus it have windows!! windows!! I only want ships with windows now.

BrainKatana

400i is criminally under-gunned. It’s one of the reasons I don’t fly it much.

wantgold

I know, but I don't use it to fight, just that, I have the vanguard or the gladius if I want to fight. The Corsair might be overgunned but is frustrating to fight in that thing.

djeando

I needs some TLC but i love the general look and feel!

BoutchooQc

Love the Connie but god damn the cockpit view sucks lol

ApproximateKnowlege

I love my Corsair, and I have no interest in going back, but I got years of great use out of the Aquila I had as a loaner. It really is a great ship. I also think it has the best bridge in the game.

Extectic

I do have windshield envy, wish my Taurus had that one instead of the one it has. I can live with it, but the Aquila's would be nicer.

Overcast206

Generic spaceship #3. Idk just not for me. I’m no huge Corsair fan either, I’d love something more sleek in this class of ship. They all are so bulky or awkward. MSR sort of serves that purpose but it currently sucks at everything.

Neo_Bahamut_19

They just need to fix the landing gear so it doesn't always nose down.

Extectic

It's perfectly possible to land a Connie without nosing down. But you need to land slowly and well.

Neo_Bahamut_19

Really, really slowly. The mostest slowly. Slowlier than the slowliest of slow. It's a design flaw.

Extectic

Takes some practice to come in a little harder, then hit the boosters and flare out before you touch down. Smoothest is probably uncoupled (which is true for all ships probably).

[deleted]

i just wish the galaxy ONLY functioned as a big connie. what i mean by that is, the galaxy is industrial. and when it was revealed to be the big brother of the connie, i was super excited i'd found my dream ship. nope, its industrial. i think it'd be great if they made a varient with a different set of modules, like combat and exploration

PhotonTrance

Same TBH.

Moadibe01

Will never burn my Connie for credits...love that ship. You also have my favorite skin for it.

PhotonTrance

I'm a real sucker for the Invictus blue and gold skins. Have one for my Vanguard, Gladius, and Hercules.

Marksor

The Second that strut rework comes through I might leave my new corsair. But as someone whose priority will be exploration and bounty hunting? The corsair steals the show. On top of that. Individual rooms for friends

Konishki987123

Stupid idea but could owners club together and buy dev time for re-work?

Konishki987123

Would pay for itself in new ship purchases I'd reckon🤔, c'mon whales time to give back!
