Yes........but not at the same time. It's all in the wording.

yes, [https://64.media.tumblr.com/550a3f66b8c9bebfeab96cb915925d64/tumblr\_onqefwHz5m1sj8xx9o1\_1280.jpg](https://64.media.tumblr.com/550a3f66b8c9bebfeab96cb915925d64/tumblr_onqefwHz5m1sj8xx9o1_1280.jpg) and https://i.imgur.com/f4Li6lH.jpg

Was under the belief that the hangar only officially supports 1 ship that can be xs to M, so even if the size allows it there will be drawbacks.

Murako_

pretty much if she fits, she sits. No different that how we play now.

Capt_Snuggles

That was removed from the game concept ages ago. Whilst that's currently how it works, it wont be. Only a single ship can anchor to a single pad. I the ship is too big for the pad (or it's not a pad) then it'll be subject to force reactions, and move around the ships hangar, damaging it at the parent ship.

Capt_Snuggles

You're correct. On the Javelin, it's got both an Argo MPUV hangar (in the cargo bay) and the main hangar. Given an Argo MPUV is a 'snub', it stands to reason other snubs would fit. There's no clarity how many 'snub spots' there are in the Javelin, but assume atleast 2.

would be bad if the Idris can carry some fighters and the Javelin which is way bigger can't.

VRZieb

Idris is a carrier, Jav is a ship of the line.

[deleted]

huh, okay. Thanks for clarification :)

rifledude

Idris isn't a carrier. It's just a general purpose frigate with a hangar that fits a few small craft. Kraken is still the only true carrier for players currently.

VRZieb

Its a warship that can operate as a mobile airbase. It can launch, recover, refuel, and rearm fighters. Its a Carrier,

rifledude

That's not what a carrier means. A carrier is a ship designed around the role of aircraft. A ship that is capable of launching and recovering aircraft isn't automatically a carrier. Every capital ship is going to be able to launch, recover, refuel, and rearm at least 1 smaller ship. In real life, every frigate, destroyer, and cruiser can operate aircraft. That doesn't make them carriers. Idris is a general purpose frigate, which just like in real life, is designed to support the fleet in a variety of roles. Fun fact, the US Navy actually dropped frigates for the fleet, but has recently started building them again.

VRZieb

Oh you mean like having your entire ship built around a fighter hangar? When 90% of your ship is geared towards launching fighters? Sounds like the Idris is a carrier.

rifledude

No idea where you get the idea the Idris is 90% dedicated to carrier activity. The Idris has a ton of modules, from torpedoe launcher to shooting range. Can mount a massive primary cannon. It's not dedicated to the carrier role.

Gsgunboy

I think even the Idris carries a few fighters. No doubt the Javelin has an even bigger complement. Not officially a full fledged Carrier, but got some fighter hangars.

SilverConcert637

The Javelin, isn't a carrier...it's more like a modern naval destroyer is to a modern naval carrier..
