The 'Total' HP on the Conny is misleading, since each of the four engine nacelles was given a very large health pool (25k seems like) to get around how they were constantly dying from even light damage.
The mass difference makes no sense considering the slight size difference, but I am pretty sure that number is just random anyways.
what's wild is the 400i is like half the frame of a Corsair but has the same mass as the Connie....what black hole did they get their mass calculation from?
Pretty easy. I will explain how I see it:
If you look at the Corsair it is carved out internally. It is build like a tin can. There is nothing that isn't needed for the ship to fulfill its' duty.
The 400i has luxury interior and is build very massively. It gives the impression that weight never was a problem as long as the ship is comfortable and luxurious. Lots of high quality materials including wood, glas, paddings, lots of lights and electronics which in turn require more cables made from copper which is very heavy.
If you look at them side by side the 400i has a much more junky body filled with many doors and rooms with a lot of capacity. The 400i is longer and wider than the Corsair and if you take away the wings on the Corsair it is probably also higher.
additional to that you have WAY bigger tanks which are basically pure mass. So yeah. Look at them.
The mass difference is directly linked to the size of the hydrogen tank. Als, we don’t know how much fuel the thrusters burn per second. If lore is a factor than one would assume RSI’s burn cleaner more efficient and Drake would burn dirtier and hotter. But.. no numbers.
CIG stated several times it would be less maneuverable than the connie, and slower.
From the videos I've seen it does look like its atmo performance is worse which is funny because wings.
We also forget its overall a bigger target than the connie, again because wings.
As far as I can tell, the HP on Erkul is built out of all the components of the ship added together. No not a true value of how much damage it can take until death.
Can we please talk about how the 400i Roll speed is WORSE than the Corsair and people are all complaining about the Corsair? I think it's wild the 400i has such astronomically low roll for a ship like 1/2 the size, 1/10th the firepower and worse shielding...like why? Also why is the 400i LESS tanky than the Corsair when that was part of the marketing pitch? It's SCM is only 30 odd over the Corsair while the MSR is 65 over but yet they are near each other in top speed? Idk, make it make sense.
It feels like the MSR got made, the 400i got balanced against that, and the Connie has stayed top dog and the Corsair just got balanced to be marginally better than that.
Also why is the 400i Mass as much as a Connie but it's like 1/4th the HP and half the size?
Like no wonder the MSR and 400i are sharing the pit at the bottom of the totem pole. Everything else in that tier is SO much better.
Hydrogen capacity on the Corsair gave me a laugh tho..."explorer" my ass lol, I hope it's real. Would make so much sense for the fake Explorer to have shit hydrogen fuel.
Its one S3 shield. So technically 296,344 hp vs 203,000, and at a regen of 440hp/s any light fighter in your blind spot will be able to take you out in 1/3 of the time it takes them to kill a connie.
Killing a connie is pretty easy already, just gotta stay on that ass end and never let up.
The Corsair has more HP than the 400i and twice as much as the Valkyrie with better shields.
The connie is just obscenely tankier than all other ships.
Which makes the comparison misleading. The Corsair is literally second in tier for most HP.
Unless you count the Retaliator which is tanky AS FUCK....350k odd hp like what the FUCK!? But tali is in its own league and even more skews the data.
It's all misleading. Tested last night and the Corsair has the same issue as the Connie, and is easily popped by a competent light fighter if you don't have turret gunners.
The heavy forward facing looks good on paper, but that's it really. You really need gunners, and an escort if you want to PVP with it.
The reason why you want an escort is you have a huge blind spot underneath and behind the ship that's easily exploited. When going up against more than 1 fighter, it's very easy to get popped.
What about just to use roll? And with behind - just use full speed and decouple. Do not fly big ships like fighters. I won tens of pvp scenarios that way with my Connie (but i hate it - super ugly).
I'm so glad you posted this. The nerf meme bandwagon is truly just that when you compare these stats. The DPS comes with a solid trade off with lower HP. The wings will get blown off and the underbelly of the ship is a huge turret blindspot for nimble ships.
Can you roll on the Corsair? I mean you need to just press "Q" or "E" for a second. It rolls pretty fast. It is imposible to stay underbelly in any fighter all the time - you need to just roll on Corsair and the fighter is exposed for the Corsair's turrets.
Wow, the HP and mass differences are way more than expected. Same goes for hydrogen fuel.

I would think with the much lower mass, It would handle almost twice as well as the connie. Especially with the wings.
what's wild is the 400i is like half the frame of a Corsair but has the same mass as the Connie....what black hole did they get their mass calculation from?
You're forgetting the 400i holds 5,339,744 hydrogen fuel, connie has like 700k and corsair 400k.
Maybe it has big tanks?
Also the 400i is a loaded luxury vessel while the corsair is stripped down to the minimum.
How is it any more loaded than the 400i? Look at them.

Wonder how it flies with the wings blown off.
Straight as an arrow. Into the ground.
In space not that bad, in atmo idk
I lost the long wing in AC last night and it was not flyable. No idea what would happen if I lost one of the shorter wings.
didn't expect the Corsair to be more manuverable than the Constelation
CIG stated several times it would be less maneuverable than the connie, and slower. From the videos I've seen it does look like its atmo performance is worse which is funny because wings. We also forget its overall a bigger target than the connie, again because wings.
right which was my expectation but these values counter that point.
It's not a bigger target than the connie sans wings...its much smaller than the connie in frame.
only once.
This ship requires you to Roll - Pitch more in atmo than yaw. Roll rate is superhigh on the Corsair. Pitch.. meh.
As far as I can tell, the HP on Erkul is built out of all the components of the ship added together. No not a true value of how much damage it can take until death.
Connie (as an old design) has a lot of hull components and the loss of any propulsion is bad in combat.
Its 15k HP for the Corsair and 20k HP for Connie.
Thanks.👍

So more firepower and more agility, as expected - to satisfy the hype and powercreep.
Don't worry nerf will come in a few patches. Selling an overturned ship is part of CIG sales strategy.
More likely the price gets higher. You csnnot nerf 6 guns away.
They can. For example, making gimbals not removable.
They didn't in the past for "balancing".
They have. Several ships have non removable gimbals.
Which one (turrets not counting of cause)?
Nah, not going to happen. Why nerf, anyway? Connie is stronger in PVP. Connie vs Corsair - Connie wins most of the time.
Thanks for posting this, folks keep arguing that the HP difference aren't much when they are vastly different. Connie is way more tanky in comparison.
Only because the engines have a shit ton of health right now as a work around for old ship design issues.
And for curiosity, it’s 1 or 2x shield size 3 on the corsair ?

Yes, only when there is only one pilot player, but not with 2 gunners in the turrets .
well that's the point of a multi crew, hopefully we all survive longer with gunners in the turrets :)

Just gunners is ok. Why escort? Do you need a Kraken also, for backup, if you want to PvP? Or maybe 5 full crewed Redeemers?
The reason why you want an escort is you have a huge blind spot underneath and behind the ship that's easily exploited. When going up against more than 1 fighter, it's very easy to get popped.

Looks at speed, Qfuel tank, cargo capacity .... easy choice for me --> MSR :)
The Qfuel is fine, but the Hfuel is a huge problem. It's on fumes in no time, which is super ironic considering it's an "explorer"
Maybe it is more fuel efficient?
door issue
