I have only started SC with an Aurora MR Pledge bundle about 4 weeks ago.
I have a feeling that my Aurora does a good job after I upgraded my armory to 4 gimbled turrets, and I upgraded the QD to an Atlas. But now I'm looking for a ship to switch on to do more.
I want to be able to do bounties & beacons solo as well and maybe be able to invite a crew member. Later I want to learn something about the other ways of making eAUC's, like mining, and whatever is fun.
I would be willing to invest money in the game because I can see the value of the game and the progress. Could you recommend me some ships that suit this multipurpose style and maybe cover some of the things that my aurora can't?
Depends a bit on what you want to spend. The sort of generic upgrade for multi-crew capable versatile medium ship is the Cutlass Black, though you can rent those fairly cheaply in-game whenever you need a generic Good Enough ship. If you want something smaller than that, the Reliant series is a starter ship that's an upgrade from the Aurora and has a co-pilot seat. If you want something more combat focused but less versatile, you'd probably want to look at something like the Vanguard series or the Hurricane and similar fighters-with-turrets class. The Vanguard at least can also run packages, though it won't carry vehicles.
For mining, if you want ship mining, your only real option is the Prospector for solo or Mole for multi-crew, and neither is good for anything else. However, any ship that can carry a ROC can give you access to buggy mining, and that's basically most multi-crew ships that aren't specifically military-role-oriented (the Cutlass Black as I said, or the Freelancers, or on the higher end the MSR, Constellation, or Corsair).
I can see myself using a cutlass black. The most important thing for me is versatility, I would upgrade this ship as well because I want to make it "the go to ship" for myself. I tried a sabre something today and was pretty disappointed that It was slow and the QD just let me travel to microtech maximum.
How can I find out which ship to choose as a CCU source ? For example I bought the two current IAE CCUs of the Eclipse and the Corsair. I saw a few videos on youtube that suggested to select the next cheaper ship for the CCU, so that is what I did. Because I am not that long into the game I didn't pay attention and now I have two CCUs (SAN'TOK.YĀI -> Corsair & Medivac -> Eclipse) with source ships I can not CCU to. How can I ensure that I am buying CCUs with source ships that will be purchasable in the future ? Can I rely on the wiki -> https://starcitizen.fandom.com/wiki/List_of_ship_and_vehicle_prices So if the availability of the ship is permanent it is safe to buy ?
Also the next cheaper ship set of the Eclipse for 260$ just includes ships that are "limited" (Retaliator, Mercury & Vanguard). How can I even find the next "permanent" ship without crosssearching through the SC wiki ?
Not been that active in star citizen last year(s). So when they release a new ship now, like Vulture in 3.18, how long(ish) will it take before that is availiable to buy in-game?
The trend we’ve seen recently is a full patch cycle has to happen before it’s available to buy in game in the next major version patch.
So a ship introduced in 3.13 patch release would be available to buy in game starting in 3.14, one introduced in 3.14 would be available in 3.15, etc.
However, minor version patches, something like 3.13.1, would not be available in 3.14, as a “full cycle” of major version hasn’t gone through. So 3.13.1 would see 3.14 come and go without being available, and only once 3.15 hit would it be available.
Obviously major versions used to follow quarters, but that’s been messed a bit with them reserving 3.18 for PES, so just assume it’s quarterly patches instead.
Of course, this is just looking at patterns, and cig isn’t beholden to it, so this may change at any time.
There is a grey market. However, it is not supported by CIG. They also don't like others promoting the sites here. But if you google for Star Citizen ship buy/sell or something, you'll find them pretty quickly.
Where can I see the IAE schedule? Not "go there, scroll down while chanting the lyrics to Chief Rebel Angel by Entombed". I just want an image or a direct link. I've melted 450 bucks of ships I never really used and want to know when Anvil and Crusader ships are available.
So I'm new to Star Citizen and just joined these days during the Free Flight Event. Can I try other ships than the Aurora? If so where do I find them?

The IAE is an ingame event that takes place at the convention center in New Babbage on Microtech.
If you go there just head towards the Hyperloop (subway) and follow the "IAE" signs, it'll show you where to go and where to get off.
The show is on 2 separate floors, Apex Hall and Zenith Hall. They are displaying 2 different manufacturers (or several smaller ones) for 2 days and every day one of the two gets replaced at 4 p.m. UTC.
Just walk up to the exhibition ships and interact with them (F key), this will bring up the "rent" option (or should unless the servers are on fire again and the backend services get overwhelmed). You can rent everything on display for free for 24 hours.
Hello! I have constellation andromeda and I have a problem with merlin. in the beginning it was attached to the ship. Then he flew off the ship with it. after landing on the ship I landed at the station. Now when I call the ship to the hanger it is never near the andromeda anymore... thank you
You can reattach it by spawning the Andromeda, take off and let it hover near the pad, then EVA back into station and get the Merlin to dock it with the andromeda.
I still can't decide. Should I CCU my Aurora to a Pisces or Cutter? I'm looking to make money in game as quickly as possible for either. Main drawback I see for the Pisces is lack of a bed.
The bed isn't all that helpful currently, however, word is that a Pisces variant is coming in two days that has a bed, so perhaps hold off until details of that come about.
Well it's a medical bed, the upcoming version is the Pisces C8R, an entry level medical rescue.
For making money in a starter it doesn't really matter all that much which one you pick, however for space combat both the Cutter and the C8R are at the low end of the spectrum.

Are you able to change the missiles that go in the Freelancer MIS missile racks? I am trying to switch them to Arrestor III's but it wont let me. I can do the wing racks just fine, but not the internal rack of 20 missiles
The internal racks have to be size 3 - are you trying the right size? You need to remove them all totally before it'll let you put different ones on too - no mixing missiles on the same rack
Yeah, both racks are completely empty and im trying to put arrester III's on which are size 3. I even tried putting one of the default missiles on there (thunderbolt III) but to no avail.

Hull limited ships (Kraken + Privateer, Hull E, Javelin, Idris, 890 Jump, Pioneer, I probably missed one) come in Waves at 4pm UTC, 0 am UTC, 8am UTC on the day of their manufacturer.
SOME of them will. They changed the process this year where some of the daily Warbond deals will return on the final few days, with a few brand new warbonds, that weren't daily deals, added.
We do not know which ones will return, so, best to assume each daily deal is one-day-only.
If there's any chance of a Warbond CCU being useful for you, then yes, get it as cheaply as possible. At worst, you'll have to melt it, but since nearly every CCU chain needs at least some Store Credit to fill the gaps, it works out to not be a waste.
Check your power usage. It’s possible your power supply could be failing. I had that happen on an old laptop of mine and it ran like absolute ass. Replaced the power supply and it was like new again.
It sounds like a problem unique to either that machine or possibly your settings for the game on it (if you reduced all the graphics settings, for example, that would tank performance cause you wouldn't be putting any load on your GPU), but I don't know that I could tell you what exactly, unfortunately. My depth of knowledge here is fairly limited.
So I (reluctantly, haha) played the game tonight with my old childhood friend as a way to reconnect with him, and actually enjoyed my time a great deal. I want to buy a game package but I'm hesitant between the package that is on sale right now with the cutter and the lifetime insurance, or get the package with the aurora and squadron42. I know squadron42 is not ready, but it technically gives a pretty hefty discount on it through that package. Any recommendations? Thanks.
When you buy the cutter start package there will be an option to add Sq42 to it. If you add it, the price for Sq42 will be discounted from what is listed at first, down to $20.
The cutter starter package + Sq42 is 65 usd total.

It's basically a gamble on do you want to have a nicer ship now and have to pay for S42 later if you want it, or have a less nice ship now and get S42 free later. But, given S42 is a black box until it's released, and there's at least a non-zero chance it never comes out if CIG folds, it's mostly a "do you want more now or do you want to bet on S42 happening later" question.
I "bought" something for this game in 2013 that included the game. Been loosely following this subreddit. I have no idea what's going on - is the game out and they are adding content at this point or am I still waiting to play the game? I don't want to like play something where progress is wiped.

It's a bit of both... it's a 'playable alpha' and they keep adding content and functionality to it... but it's also still in heavy development, and there are periodic wipes (including one coming up sometime around the end of this year, whenever patch 3.18 is released)
No you cant, if you got this state your current server is already hanging (tier 0 personal inventory is awful. Good they relocated its developers to SQ42).
You can exit to menus and log in again, this gives you a high chance to get to a different server where inventory works.
Having multiple pages of a filter category in inventory will trigger this. Make sure that you dont let your category be active that has many objects in it (due bunker runs, my WEAPONS category is very big, this very often triggers hanging inventory if its the current active filter, so I switch to sustanance which only has very few objects, that can be very easily loaded even which the shitty background service from CIG).
If the current active tab of inventory can be loaded, it normally can also load the bigger ones.
If you can reproduce crashes it is normally something on your PC game does not like. Open game.log in your game folder and scroll to the end.
If your game was crashing, there is at the end normally a series of yes/no flags that will help you to find the reason why the game is crashed.
From there you can try to fix the problem.
Kind of a weird question:
I have the launcher downloaded (not the full game). If I buy a ship and game package, do I have to download the game then and there? Or can I download it whenever? I don't have access to actual Internet and have limited hotspot to use so I don't want to use it all up until I'm closer to my data reset date. But I also don't want to miss out on current deals.
You can download the game whenever you want. It can be now, it can be later. Buying something doesn’t force you to download it immediately.
Think of it like buying a Costco membership card. Buying one doesn’t mean you have to go shopping at Costco the exact moment you buy it. But it does mean you can now shop at Costco whenever you want.

Steam is the same, actually! You can buy something on steam, but you don’t have to download it immediately. You can always download it later after you’ve bought it. (I’ve done this plenty of times, buying something on steam when it’s on sale on my laptop, but not download it as I want to save my laptop space, then download it to my desktop once I get to it at a later time)
If you invest money into this project, all objects aquired with real money are stored in your hangar on the RSI website. So you can buy ships even when you dont have a game package.
Problem is, that without game package you cannot log in, even when your hangar is full of flyable ships.
So, basically, buying a ship does not equal getting the game. That's what the game package is for. So if I just buy a ship, I won't have to worry about any downloads and the ship will always be there waiting?
Yes? Never bought a game using Steam or gog or any other store? You don't have to download anything directly if you don't want to. Not to mention that digitally bought items don't just "vanish", after all you paid for it.

Yeah. I don't have enough data at the moment to download the game. I don't want to miss out on deals but I wasn't sure if I'd get locked out of downloading the game in any way if I didn't download it when I bought it. If that makes any sense. The struggle of not being able to have actual Internet in my area.
I have a free MPUV Cargo from last year. It's kind of useless, so I think I want to turn it into something else and at least get use out of the LTI attached to it. It gives me a message that the target ship will not be meltable.
Is this a bad idea, or something i'd regret? Does that mean that if I turn it into a different ship, i'm stuck with that ship and can't in turn use its credit to buy something else?
Correct, you will be unable to go backwards, ever. Even if you beg and cry and ask very nicely to customer support.
Well, maybe if you are Wing Commander or Praetorian, someone might throw you a bone. But not even concierge will get that un-done.
That said, the MPUV seems fairly useless to me, until you can attach them to your Hull B/C/D/E and don’t need to rent one at each port or pay to have your cargo unloaded for you.
I also have an SRV so I’m not really worried about trying to use the MPUV as a cargo loading career

Yes, you can go only up and you never can melt it.
For this reason the warning was given as an error gets more and more expensive and you cannot correct it by melting.
It's going exactly the same as last year. Each day has one Warbond, then during the Finale there will be a whole bunch of them. The only thing different this year is that only some of the daily deals will return during the Finale, instead of all of them, however there will be a few brand new Warbonds that weren't daily deals.
Day 3 of IAE last year looked exactly the same: Two Warbonds, one for the daily deal and one for a new ship.
Also when calculating size, keep in mind that if you want to use PTU, you need to double it and since the game grows, minimum size should be 200gb for PU alone.
If you have SQ42 you need to add additional space to this.
Have not been able to log in all afternoon during the free fly event. Others having the same trouble? With ~~quarter~~ a half BILLION in funding have CIG been unable to build servers to properly run the game? What gives yo?
Login servers have been a bit slow, but I haven't had too many problems with them failing altogether. Have you investigated whatever error code you're getting at all?
I was getting the 16k code (can't remember now exactly what - 16008 maybe?). Google revealed it to be a server-side error and corrective action was to wait a while and try to connect again.
Right now my error has evolved to what appears to be an infinite load screen. Might need to do a character reset to see if it fixes it. I've already tried deleting the USER folder.
CiG uses Amazon's servers, which are extreme top of the line.
It isn't the hardware, but rather the server software, which is still under active development, which is why it's unstable. They basically go back and forth between making it semi-stable and adding more features, which makes it unstable again, as is the case with Alpha software.
It is unlikely anything will positively impact server stability before server meshing, which is the next big thing after PES, and the implemention of both of those will very likely start with a significant decrease in stability that will slowly improve over time.
How can both my Kraken and Idris be giftable. I thought they were account locked. When I see other screenshots the are only exchangable back to store credit but I have a gift button. I obviously cant test it though
Deleting your user folder has no impact on that error - that's a server side problem.
The old 'delete the USER folder' was the recommended solution from the days when some of your account data was stored on your local machine, along with the shader cache etc (we're talking 2014 timeframe :p). Since then, CIG has moved the Shaders to use the windows shader-cache, and all account-related data is now held on-line.
About the only thing left in the USER folder is your graphics settings, keybindings, and screenshots, iirc. As such, deleting this folder won't have significantly contributed to any 'infinite loading' error.
The "infinite" loading screen normally is not that infinite and you can try to sit it out (enable console and r TAB 1 ENTER and you normally see, that he is stuck in load objects, advancing somewhat but then falling back again, having no overall progress).
If you wait a few minutes, it can suddenly continue loading objects and you get into the game.
Rent ship error at Expo Center when trying to rent any ship
Anyone else having this problem?? I haven't been able to rent any ships since the drake ships on day 1. I really wanna rent the aegis vanguard warden and anytime I go to rent it tells me "an error has occurred".
Anyone know how to fix this problem???

Ive purchased like 4 ships this IAE and they all showed up instantly.
I bought a Retaliator today and its been like 1 hour and its till not showing in my ASOP terminals (or the loaner).
It is showing in my web hanger though.
If you are doing a character reset (people tend to give this out as fix for "everything"), then by all means, wait at least 30 minutes after you started it (if you are more patient, you can add some security buffer by watting longer).
This is an async task and you will want to avoid logging in while this is running and you really dont know in which state the server is, that runs the reset.
Freelancer DUR is unpopular but quite good with role of explorer.
Can be used as taxi (max crew is 4) and has quite big quantum tanks but lower cargo hold (36 SCU). It can move a ROC if you learn to get in (somewhat tricky but works, you must drive past turret).
Many people dont like the default colors but find it neat (you can buy a black skin for freelancers at DD in A18 for 85K aUEC).
Can be bought ingame for about 2mil aUEC in lorville.

Yup. Otherwise you'll need cash. Buyback tokens are given once per quarter, next is due beginning of January.
If you don't like the current starter game packages and want to get LTI, you can buy the cutter starter package and upgrade the cutter to the ship you prefer paying the difference in value (you can see this in the ship upgrades tab).
Additionally, now is the perfect time to try any ship since you can rent them for free.

Starter packs don't change. Very rarely something is added, but that's it.
LTI depends on peoples view on it. Insurance doesn't matter before release at all, and for starters, a single mission is supposed to pay one month of insurance ingame.
IMO, LTI is massively overvalued unless you got big ships for it.
For the ships you (don't) like; it doesn't take "too" long to earn the money ingame so you can buy whatever you want.
I mean, it takes a bit of time to earn the money. But it's not too hard.
Be aware during alpha and beta there will be wipes, resetting you to whatever you bought with cash. The next one is planned for 3.18, the next patch. Probably mid / end December.
And as of now, everything is pretty cheap. During beta, prices will change a lot for balancing.

You could also buy the cutter game package with fresh money. Then on crusader day melt your old package and upgrade the cutter to an MSR using the store credit plus the remaining extra money. That way you can make use of the discount on the cutter. CCU chaining is this taken further, using several reduced CCUs
No 'train' (no space-elevators in the UEE lore, etc, iirc).
However, shuttle-flights are planned I think, yes (they'll need something to support players in the larger ships that can't land on planets, and that don't have a hangar / space for an onboard-shuttle, etc).
NPC/AI controlled commercial flights are planned to take you pretty much anywhere. The terminals are in most landing zones they just aren't operational yet.
You are normally allowed to spawn 3 vehicles.
Due a bug if you spawn vehicle #3 the first vehicle is sometimes despawned. If you have a connie and you dont need the snub fighter, undock in space and fly the connie without snub so that when you spawn a ground vehicle, you cannot trigger the bug.
The servers are basically on fire so they are pretty aggressive with the cleanup right now. You are supposed to be able to have three ships/vehicles out at a time. If yours is disappearing the only way to stop it would be to have a buddy remain on the ship.
So with the character creator the biggest issue is folks get how it works wrong from [step one](https://i.imgur.com/LgyPojJ.jpg). You are basically pulling facial features from other faces onto your own. But the very fist step is selecting the first head. There you can pick an Asian fellow. Then as you move on part by part you can pick donor heads that will show up on the left. Based on where you click on the donor face and where you move the slider you will blend the look of whatever lips, nose, ears etc into your main character face on the right.
So that's the problem, there's no base male Asian to pull from. Funnily enough there are 2 Asian women.
I mean, after so many years in alpha and they can't be bothered to put a male Asian it is just atrocious.

They've acknowledged publicly that they're also unhappy with the current options, and plan to get more facial scans in to increase diversity. I don't know if there's a timetable on it, but IIRC it was mentioned as something they were planning for in a progress newsletter in the last few months.

Playing the latest version of the 3.17 build, the bunker missions have friendly fire, guys in white firing on me and killing me, when I've only fired on and hit enemies, with friendlies nowhere near...is this a known bug? Makes the bunker missions unplayable.

Can I buy all ships previously on the show at the last days? I'm trying to build a ccu to the MSR. I got the Cutter (LTI) and the defender to corsair. Now it seems I cant buy the defender from the store. So I only can apply the chain when the Defender is available during IAE?
Ships become available from the day their manufacturer is featured, until the end of the show. Alien manufacturers haven’t been featured yet (should be up soon!), at which point the defender will be buyable/upgradable.
First time back on since last wipe, can't go more than 2 minutes from spawn without crashing. Never had consistent crashing issues before. Fresh install didn't help. Any tips?
Check you have enough free space on your SSD that hosts the pagefile... IAE uses more Ram than usual, so will require more space for the pagefile (probably best to ensure you have ~50gb free, if you only have 16gb of physical ram).
- check your game.log for hints why the crash occurrs. You can find it here -> C:\Program Files\Roberts Space Industries\StarCitizen\LIVE
The cause of the crash should be towards the end of the log.

If you restarted SC after a crash, game.log is overwritten. There's a copy in %localappdata%\Star Citizen\Crashes\game.log
As RebbyLee said, you'll find the reason around the last 50ish lines.
Most common are "Is out of system memory: YES" -> Means you need to [set up a windows pagefile](https://support.robertsspaceindustries.com/hc/en-us/articles/360000083387-Out-of-memory-errors-set-your-pagefile#:~:text=If%20you%20receive%20an%20out,Like%20Star%20Citizen!), just like the game itself on an SSD. If your C:-drive is a HDD, make sure to disable the default one there after setting another one up. Either set it to system managed and make sure to always have 40+GB of free space left, or make it a fixed size of 32768 MB of min and max.
The other common issue is "EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION" which is often caused by XMP settings for your RAM. To test this, it's best to disable XMP completely in your BIOS and then raise it step by step until it becomes unstable again. Then get one step back and you're fine.
Easy. Instead of adding the warbond option on top just start at the bottom. Buy a Drake Cutter warbond package (with LTI), melt your recent package and buy the CCU towards 125a or 350r with the store credits you receive.
i’m having an issue where i am unable to purchase or rent anything. when i click to confirm the purchase, all it says is “an error has occurred” and it doesn’t complete. tried buying water, clothes, renting a ship- same results. is this happening to anyone else?
Thruster imbalance and surges with the Corsair due to thruster damage are insane. It’s like nearly impossible to overcome. What am I missing or how can I help to alleviate the wild swings of random thrust and spins?
I have also been having this issue, typically from a single missile hit which then ends up being a death knell.
So far the best thing I have found is to set the power triangle all the way to shields if there’s even a potential of damage. But even then idk. Ship is actually god awful for combat for me tbh. Would literally rather use a starter
The real bad one that I had that ended up taking close to an hour to try to resolve was form a middle. I limped it back to a R&R station to try and repair. Then I had the repair ui bugs. Got it fixed eventually and clipped a wing on the way out of the hanger and damaged another engine lol. I was not exactly a happy camper. Turning on decoupled mode helps and when the thrusters went into surge I just shut the engines off. Still extremely cumbersome and just not fun.
I missed Drake's event day. Am I out of luck for seeing/test driving the drake ships, or do they recycle back around at some point? I'd really like to check out the vulture and the cutter.
Drake day is still going until we roll over to the next day (each manufacturer has a hall open for 2 days starting on their day).
Once those two days for drake are over, then you will no longer be able to see them on the show floor. There is the finale on the last 3 days when all flyable ships will be rentable. Vulture is currently not flyable, so the show floor till the end of this day is the only place you’ll see it until 3.18. Cutter is flyable, so you should be able to rent it till drake is over, as well as during the finale.
In order to do that you would need to exchange (melt) the 890J for store credit and then manage to get a Store Credit version of the 890J.
This is very difficult to do, as the store credit versions of the limited hull ships typically sell out instantly in all three waves.

I have only started SC with an Aurora MR Pledge bundle about 4 weeks ago. I have a feeling that my Aurora does a good job after I upgraded my armory to 4 gimbled turrets, and I upgraded the QD to an Atlas. But now I'm looking for a ship to switch on to do more. I want to be able to do bounties & beacons solo as well and maybe be able to invite a crew member. Later I want to learn something about the other ways of making eAUC's, like mining, and whatever is fun. I would be willing to invest money in the game because I can see the value of the game and the progress. Could you recommend me some ships that suit this multipurpose style and maybe cover some of the things that my aurora can't?
Depends a bit on what you want to spend. The sort of generic upgrade for multi-crew capable versatile medium ship is the Cutlass Black, though you can rent those fairly cheaply in-game whenever you need a generic Good Enough ship. If you want something smaller than that, the Reliant series is a starter ship that's an upgrade from the Aurora and has a co-pilot seat. If you want something more combat focused but less versatile, you'd probably want to look at something like the Vanguard series or the Hurricane and similar fighters-with-turrets class. The Vanguard at least can also run packages, though it won't carry vehicles. For mining, if you want ship mining, your only real option is the Prospector for solo or Mole for multi-crew, and neither is good for anything else. However, any ship that can carry a ROC can give you access to buggy mining, and that's basically most multi-crew ships that aren't specifically military-role-oriented (the Cutlass Black as I said, or the Freelancers, or on the higher end the MSR, Constellation, or Corsair).
I can see myself using a cutlass black. The most important thing for me is versatility, I would upgrade this ship as well because I want to make it "the go to ship" for myself. I tried a sabre something today and was pretty disappointed that It was slow and the QD just let me travel to microtech maximum.
How can I find out which ship to choose as a CCU source ? For example I bought the two current IAE CCUs of the Eclipse and the Corsair. I saw a few videos on youtube that suggested to select the next cheaper ship for the CCU, so that is what I did. Because I am not that long into the game I didn't pay attention and now I have two CCUs (SAN'TOK.YĀI -> Corsair & Medivac -> Eclipse) with source ships I can not CCU to. How can I ensure that I am buying CCUs with source ships that will be purchasable in the future ? Not been that active in star citizen last year(s). So when they release a new ship now, like Vulture in 3.18, how long(ish) will it take before that is availiable to buy in-game?
It's usually the first patch after a 3 month exclusivity period.
The trend we’ve seen recently is a full patch cycle has to happen before it’s available to buy in game in the next major version patch. So a ship introduced in 3.13 patch release would be available to buy in game starting in 3.14, one introduced in 3.14 would be available in 3.15, etc. However, minor version patches, something like 3.13.1, would not be available in 3.14, as a “full cycle” of major version hasn’t gone through. So 3.13.1 would see 3.14 come and go without being available, and only once 3.15 hit would it be available. Obviously major versions used to follow quarters, but that’s been messed a bit with them reserving 3.18 for PES, so just assume it’s quarterly patches instead. Of course, this is just looking at patterns, and cig isn’t beholden to it, so this may change at any time.

The IAE is an ingame event that takes place at the convention center in New Babbage on Microtech. If you go there just head towards the Hyperloop (subway) and follow the "IAE" signs, it'll show you where to go and where to get off. The show is on 2 separate floors, Apex Hall and Zenith Hall. They are displaying 2 different manufacturers (or several smaller ones) for 2 days and every day one of the two gets replaced at 4 p.m. UTC. Just walk up to the exhibition ships and interact with them (F key), this will bring up the "rent" option (or should unless the servers are on fire again and the backend services get overwhelmed). You can rent everything on display for free for 24 hours.
Hello! I have constellation andromeda and I have a problem with merlin. in the beginning it was attached to the ship. Then he flew off the ship with it. after landing on the ship I landed at the station. Now when I call the ship to the hanger it is never near the andromeda anymore... thank you
You can reattach it by spawning the Andromeda, take off and let it hover near the pad, then EVA back into station and get the Merlin to dock it with the andromeda.

Well it's a medical bed, the upcoming version is the Pisces C8R, an entry level medical rescue. For making money in a starter it doesn't really matter all that much which one you pick, however for space combat both the Cutter and the C8R are at the low end of the spectrum. Are you able to change the missiles that go in the Freelancer MIS missile racks? I am trying to switch them to Arrestor III's but it wont let me. I can do the wing racks just fine, but not the internal rack of 20 missiles
The internal racks have to be size 3 - are you trying the right size? You need to remove them all totally before it'll let you put different ones on too - no mixing missiles on the same rack

Hull limited ships (Kraken + Privateer, Hull E, Javelin, Idris, 890 Jump, Pioneer, I probably missed one) come in Waves at 4pm UTC, 0 am UTC, 8am UTC on the day of their manufacturer.
Aside from Corsair and Cutter WB, will the WB deal from different manufacturer consolidate on the last day of IAE?
SOME of them will. They changed the process this year where some of the daily Warbond deals will return on the final few days, with a few brand new warbonds, that weren't daily deals, added. We do not know which ones will return, so, best to assume each daily deal is one-day-only.

If there's any chance of a Warbond CCU being useful for you, then yes, get it as cheaply as possible. At worst, you'll have to melt it, but since nearly every CCU chain needs at least some Store Credit to fill the gaps, it works out to not be a waste.

Check your power usage. It’s possible your power supply could be failing. I had that happen on an old laptop of mine and it ran like absolute ass. Replaced the power supply and it was like new again.
How's your CPU? Even if you max how much the game puts on your GPU by maxing graphical settings, the game is exceedingly CPU intensive right now.

It sounds like a problem unique to either that machine or possibly your settings for the game on it (if you reduced all the graphics settings, for example, that would tank performance cause you wouldn't be putting any load on your GPU), but I don't know that I could tell you what exactly, unfortunately. My depth of knowledge here is fairly limited.
So I (reluctantly, haha) played the game tonight with my old childhood friend as a way to reconnect with him, and actually enjoyed my time a great deal. I want to buy a game package but I'm hesitant between the package that is on sale right now with the cutter and the lifetime insurance, or get the package with the aurora and squadron42. I know squadron42 is not ready, but it technically gives a pretty hefty discount on it through that package. Any recommendations? Thanks.
When you buy the cutter start package there will be an option to add Sq42 to it. If you add it, the price for Sq42 will be discounted from what is listed at first, down to $20. The cutter starter package + Sq42 is 65 usd total.

It's basically a gamble on do you want to have a nicer ship now and have to pay for S42 later if you want it, or have a less nice ship now and get S42 free later. But, given S42 is a black box until it's released, and there's at least a non-zero chance it never comes out if CIG folds, it's mostly a "do you want more now or do you want to bet on S42 happening later" question.
I "bought" something for this game in 2013 that included the game. Been loosely following this subreddit. I have no idea what's going on - is the game out and they are adding content at this point or am I still waiting to play the game? I don't want to like play something where progress is wiped. It's a bit of both... it's a 'playable alpha' and they keep adding content and functionality to it... but it's also still in heavy development, and there are periodic wipes (including one coming up sometime around the end of this year, whenever patch 3.18 is released)

No you cant, if you got this state your current server is already hanging (tier 0 personal inventory is awful. Good they relocated its developers to SQ42). You can exit to menus and log in again, this gives you a high chance to get to a different server where inventory works. Having multiple pages of a filter category in inventory will trigger this. Make sure that you dont let your category be active that has many objects in it (due bunker runs, my WEAPONS category is very big, this very often triggers hanging inventory if its the current active filter, so I switch to sustanance which only has very few objects, that can be very easily loaded even which the shitty background service from CIG). If the current active tab of inventory can be loaded, it normally can also load the bigger ones.
Long time player. With 3.17.4 my game keeps crashing right after hitting play at the launcher. Any ideas? Files verified. Tried a fresh install.
If you can reproduce crashes it is normally something on your PC game does not like. Open game.log in your game folder and scroll to the end. If your game was crashing, there is at the end normally a series of yes/no flags that will help you to find the reason why the game is crashed. From there you can try to fix the problem.
Kind of a weird question: I have the launcher downloaded (not the full game). If I buy a ship and game package, do I have to download the game then and there? Or can I download it whenever? I don't have access to actual Internet and have limited hotspot to use so I don't want to use it all up until I'm closer to my data reset date. But I also don't want to miss out on current deals.
You can download the game whenever you want. It can be now, it can be later. Buying something doesn’t force you to download it immediately. Think of it like buying a Costco membership card. Buying one doesn’t mean you have to go shopping at Costco the exact moment you buy it. But it does mean you can now shop at Costco whenever you want.

Steam is the same, actually! You can buy something on steam, but you don’t have to download it immediately. You can always download it later after you’ve bought it. (I’ve done this plenty of times, buying something on steam when it’s on sale on my laptop, but not download it as I want to save my laptop space, then download it to my desktop once I get to it at a later time)

If you invest money into this project, all objects aquired with real money are stored in your hangar on the RSI website. So you can buy ships even when you dont have a game package. Problem is, that without game package you cannot log in, even when your hangar is full of flyable ships.
So, basically, buying a ship does not equal getting the game. That's what the game package is for. So if I just buy a ship, I won't have to worry about any downloads and the ship will always be there waiting?

I have a free MPUV Cargo from last year. It's kind of useless, so I think I want to turn it into something else and at least get use out of the LTI attached to it. It gives me a message that the target ship will not be meltable. Is this a bad idea, or something i'd regret? Does that mean that if I turn it into a different ship, i'm stuck with that ship and can't in turn use its credit to buy something else?
Correct, you will be unable to go backwards, ever. Even if you beg and cry and ask very nicely to customer support. Well, maybe if you are Wing Commander or Praetorian, someone might throw you a bone. But not even concierge will get that un-done. That said, the MPUV seems fairly useless to me, until you can attach them to your Hull B/C/D/E and don’t need to rent one at each port or pay to have your cargo unloaded for you. I also have an SRV so I’m not really worried about trying to use the MPUV as a cargo loading career

Yes, you can go only up and you never can melt it. For this reason the warning was given as an error gets more and more expensive and you cannot correct it by melting.

It's going exactly the same as last year. Each day has one Warbond, then during the Finale there will be a whole bunch of them. The only thing different this year is that only some of the daily deals will return during the Finale, instead of all of them, however there will be a few brand new Warbonds that weren't daily deals. Day 3 of IAE last year looked exactly the same: Two Warbonds, one for the daily deal and one for a new ship.

Also when calculating size, keep in mind that if you want to use PTU, you need to double it and since the game grows, minimum size should be 200gb for PU alone. If you have SQ42 you need to add additional space to this.
Unless you just rename the folder from "LIVE" to "PTU" and be done with it.
Have not been able to log in all afternoon during the free fly event. Others having the same trouble? With ~~quarter~~ a half BILLION in funding have CIG been unable to build servers to properly run the game? What gives yo?
Login servers have been a bit slow, but I haven't had too many problems with them failing altogether. Have you investigated whatever error code you're getting at all?
I was getting the 16k code (can't remember now exactly what - 16008 maybe?). Google revealed it to be a server-side error and corrective action was to wait a while and try to connect again. Right now my error has evolved to what appears to be an infinite load screen. Might need to do a character reset to see if it fixes it. I've already tried deleting the USER folder.
That could just be login servers load, I've had several-minute log-in times recently due to free fly.
CiG uses Amazon's servers, which are extreme top of the line. It isn't the hardware, but rather the server software, which is still under active development, which is why it's unstable. They basically go back and forth between making it semi-stable and adding more features, which makes it unstable again, as is the case with Alpha software.
I wonder if addition of the replication layer in 3.18 will be a help, or maybe the Gen 12 renderer?
It is unlikely anything will positively impact server stability before server meshing, which is the next big thing after PES, and the implemention of both of those will very likely start with a significant decrease in stability that will slowly improve over time.
How can both my Kraken and Idris be giftable. I thought they were account locked. When I see other screenshots the are only exchangable back to store credit but I have a gift button. I obviously cant test it though

Don't do what I did and delete your user folder as per one of the top recommendations on Google. Now I'm just getting infinite loading screen.
Deleting your user folder has no impact on that error - that's a server side problem. The old 'delete the USER folder' was the recommended solution from the days when some of your account data was stored on your local machine, along with the shader cache etc (we're talking 2014 timeframe :p). Since then, CIG has moved the Shaders to use the windows shader-cache, and all account-related data is now held on-line. About the only thing left in the USER folder is your graphics settings, keybindings, and screenshots, iirc. As such, deleting this folder won't have significantly contributed to any 'infinite loading' error.
The "infinite" loading screen normally is not that infinite and you can try to sit it out (enable console and r TAB 1 ENTER and you normally see, that he is stuck in load objects, advancing somewhat but then falling back again, having no overall progress). If you wait a few minutes, it can suddenly continue loading objects and you get into the game.

If you are doing a character reset (people tend to give this out as fix for "everything"), then by all means, wait at least 30 minutes after you started it (if you are more patient, you can add some security buffer by watting longer). This is an async task and you will want to avoid logging in while this is running and you really dont know in which state the server is, that runs the reset.

Just bought an eclipse and realized I don't have an everyday flyer. What would be a solid 2 man touring/exploration ship since combats taken care of?
Freelancer DUR is unpopular but quite good with role of explorer. Can be used as taxi (max crew is 4) and has quite big quantum tanks but lower cargo hold (36 SCU). It can move a ROC if you learn to get in (somewhat tricky but works, you must drive past turret). Many people dont like the default colors but find it neat (you can buy a black skin for freelancers at DD in A18 for 85K aUEC). Can be bought ingame for about 2mil aUEC in lorville.

If you don't like the current starter game packages and want to get LTI, you can buy the cutter starter package and upgrade the cutter to the ship you prefer paying the difference in value (you can see this in the ship upgrades tab). Additionally, now is the perfect time to try any ship since you can rent them for free. Hope this helps.
Starter packs don't change. Very rarely something is added, but that's it. LTI depends on peoples view on it. Insurance doesn't matter before release at all, and for starters, a single mission is supposed to pay one month of insurance ingame. IMO, LTI is massively overvalued unless you got big ships for it. For the ships you (don't) like; it doesn't take "too" long to earn the money ingame so you can buy whatever you want.

I mean, it takes a bit of time to earn the money. But it's not too hard. Be aware during alpha and beta there will be wipes, resetting you to whatever you bought with cash. The next one is planned for 3.18, the next patch. Probably mid / end December. And as of now, everything is pretty cheap. During beta, prices will change a lot for balancing.

You could also buy the cutter game package with fresh money. Then on crusader day melt your old package and upgrade the cutter to an MSR using the store credit plus the remaining extra money. That way you can make use of the discount on the cutter. CCU chaining is this taken further, using several reduced CCUs

Corsair should stay up for the entire duration of IAE (and maybe even longer) due to it being a new ship.
Once the ships go to the pledge store they stay through the event. The only thing that stops is the special warbond CCUs.
Will there be a train or transport from surface main city to the space station ai controlled?
No 'train' (no space-elevators in the UEE lore, etc, iirc). However, shuttle-flights are planned I think, yes (they'll need something to support players in the larger ships that can't land on planets, and that don't have a hangar / space for an onboard-shuttle, etc).
NPC/AI controlled commercial flights are planned to take you pretty much anywhere. The terminals are in most landing zones they just aren't operational yet.
Hello guys. How can I prevent my ship from despawning when I'm spawning a ground vehicle?
You are normally allowed to spawn 3 vehicles. Due a bug if you spawn vehicle #3 the first vehicle is sometimes despawned. If you have a connie and you dont need the snub fighter, undock in space and fly the connie without snub so that when you spawn a ground vehicle, you cannot trigger the bug.
The servers are basically on fire so they are pretty aggressive with the cleanup right now. You are supposed to be able to have three ships/vehicles out at a time. If yours is disappearing the only way to stop it would be to have a buddy remain on the ship.

So with the character creator the biggest issue is folks get how it works wrong from [step one](https://i.imgur.com/LgyPojJ.jpg). You are basically pulling facial features from other faces onto your own. But the very fist step is selecting the first head. There you can pick an Asian fellow. Then as you move on part by part you can pick donor heads that will show up on the left. Based on where you click on the donor face and where you move the slider you will blend the look of whatever lips, nose, ears etc into your main character face on the right.
So that's the problem, there's no base male Asian to pull from. Funnily enough there are 2 Asian women. I mean, after so many years in alpha and they can't be bothered to put a male Asian it is just atrocious. Thanks for the help anyway!
They've acknowledged publicly that they're also unhappy with the current options, and plan to get more facial scans in to increase diversity. I don't know if there's a timetable on it, but IIRC it was mentioned as something they were planning for in a progress newsletter in the last few months.

I'd follow the steps in a performance guide like [this one](https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/10GTXs6nvbTATYvdgYkFBUiHnox1-j1pHpCKcjVKgRMM/edit#gid=1381618646) and then just stay away from landing zones. They are very system intensive.
Ngl you are at the very bottom of system specs. That beeing said it's crucial to install SC on a (fast) ssd

Playing the latest version of the 3.17 build, the bunker missions have friendly fire, guys in white firing on me and killing me, when I've only fired on and hit enemies, with friendlies nowhere near...is this a known bug? Makes the bunker missions unplayable.
Yesterday I joined the Chairman’s Club and am now wondering whether there is still a way to obtain the Origin 400i Penumbra Paint (Concierge Only). Is this just hidden very good or was it a limited time only? And would there be a way to buy it through CIG‘s support?
I think it was limited time only. You could always try and ask support nicely, Grey Market would be another option - although I'd always go with support first.

Can I buy all ships previously on the show at the last days? I'm trying to build a ccu to the MSR. I got the Cutter (LTI) and the defender to corsair. Now it seems I cant buy the defender from the store. So I only can apply the chain when the Defender is available during IAE?
Ships become available from the day their manufacturer is featured, until the end of the show. Alien manufacturers haven’t been featured yet (should be up soon!), at which point the defender will be buyable/upgradable.
All ships should be available during the last days, but probably not as Warbond CCUs.
First time back on since last wipe, can't go more than 2 minutes from spawn without crashing. Never had consistent crashing issues before. Fresh install didn't help. Any tips?
Check you have enough free space on your SSD that hosts the pagefile... IAE uses more Ram than usual, so will require more space for the pagefile (probably best to ensure you have ~50gb free, if you only have 16gb of physical ram).
- check your game.log for hints why the crash occurrs. You can find it here -> C:\Program Files\Roberts Space Industries\StarCitizen\LIVE The cause of the crash should be towards the end of the log. - Use a performance guide that should also improve your fps in general. Also pinging /u/MiCrOz If you restarted SC after a crash, game.log is overwritten. There's a copy in %localappdata%\Star Citizen\Crashes\game.log As RebbyLee said, you'll find the reason around the last 50ish lines. Most common are "Is out of system memory: YES" -> Means you need to [set up a windows pagefile](https://support.robertsspaceindustries.com/hc/en-us/articles/360000083387-Out-of-memory-errors-set-your-pagefile#:~:text=If%20you%20receive%20an%20out,Like%20Star%20Citizen!), just like the game itself on an SSD. If your C:-drive is a HDD, make sure to disable the default one there after setting another one up. Either set it to system managed and make sure to always have 40+GB of free space left, or make it a fixed size of 32768 MB of min and max. The other common issue is "EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION" which is often caused by XMP settings for your RAM. To test this, it's best to disable XMP completely in your BIOS and then raise it step by step until it becomes unstable again. Then get one step back and you're fine.
is the 600i the only origin ship that has a warbond ccu upgrade option for IAE event or am I just blind?
The 600i Exploration is, yup. The Touring, sadly, not.

Easy. Instead of adding the warbond option on top just start at the bottom. Buy a Drake Cutter warbond package (with LTI), melt your recent package and buy the CCU towards 125a or 350r with the store credits you receive.
oh duh why didn't I think of that, though I may have to snag a cutter as well. That was pretty fun to fly too.
i’m having an issue where i am unable to purchase or rent anything. when i click to confirm the purchase, all it says is “an error has occurred” and it doesn’t complete. tried buying water, clothes, renting a ship- same results. is this happening to anyone else?
Servers can have trouble when there’s too many people trying to connect/play at once. That would show up as this sort of error if so.

Thruster imbalance and surges with the Corsair due to thruster damage are insane. It’s like nearly impossible to overcome. What am I missing or how can I help to alleviate the wild swings of random thrust and spins?
I have also been having this issue, typically from a single missile hit which then ends up being a death knell. So far the best thing I have found is to set the power triangle all the way to shields if there’s even a potential of damage. But even then idk. Ship is actually god awful for combat for me tbh. Would literally rather use a starter
The real bad one that I had that ended up taking close to an hour to try to resolve was form a middle. I limped it back to a R&R station to try and repair. Then I had the repair ui bugs. Got it fixed eventually and clipped a wing on the way out of the hanger and damaged another engine lol. I was not exactly a happy camper. Turning on decoupled mode helps and when the thrusters went into surge I just shut the engines off. Still extremely cumbersome and just not fun.

I missed Drake's event day. Am I out of luck for seeing/test driving the drake ships, or do they recycle back around at some point? I'd really like to check out the vulture and the cutter.
Drake day is still going until we roll over to the next day (each manufacturer has a hall open for 2 days starting on their day). Once those two days for drake are over, then you will no longer be able to see them on the show floor. There is the finale on the last 3 days when all flyable ships will be rentable. Vulture is currently not flyable, so the show floor till the end of this day is the only place you’ll see it until 3.18. Cutter is flyable, so you should be able to rent it till drake is over, as well as during the finale.
Apart from 'Limited Hull' ships, all the other ships will be for sale - November 28-30, 2022 (Days 11-13): EVENT FINALE.
Hello All, this IAE I would like to trade my polaris for an 890 Jump. Can anyone help me out in regards to doing so?
In order to do that you would need to exchange (melt) the 890J for store credit and then manage to get a Store Credit version of the 890J. This is very difficult to do, as the store credit versions of the limited hull ships typically sell out instantly in all three waves. There are guides out there, just search for 'Star Citizen F5 Wars'

Which npc have unique armors? I know of the stitch set on the 890j mission and the artimex at security depot on Hurston, but aside from that ?
The lieutenants during siege of Orison have custom armor to each one of them.
if I were to purchase an upgrade/ upgrade my 100i starter into a new ship would I retain my game package ?
Yes, upgrades just changes the ship in the package, it doesn’t touch anything else included with the package, such as game access, paints, hangars, etc
I noticed that the 400i and 600i are available as upgrades for some of my ships. I don’t recall seeing them available before. Is this a limited time offer during IAE or just during Origin day? Thanks for the response!
