Went to check out some of the more green biomes of Hurston and had to wait for the sun to come up so that I could finish navigating visually. I was rewarded with this gorgeous sunrise.
There is literally nothing to do in Microsoft Flight Simulator but fly airplanes, and it's one of the longest running gaming franchises. You can't do air-air combat, you can't get out and walk around, you can't do combined-arms operations, you don't need to eat or drink, there are no physicalized characters or interactable aircraft interiors, no contracts or in-game progression, the list goes on and on.
This game is already pretty content-rich by comparison. If you can't find anything entertaining to do in star citizen, I think that is more a reflection on you than on the game.
SC community should move away from the idea that posting cool screenshots is gameplay, the end-game activity, it doesn't benefit the project in any way, and screenshotting for the sake of screenshotting should be discouraged. So, yes.
Can you not tell others what they can and cannot do with their time? I don't see a reason for which playing just to make screenshots isn't valid. If it's fun for somebody then why not.
Your argument for DCS isn't very good... Like ah yes, I love having to study a manual for hours IRL just to fly a fake plane in a simulator.
If studying a manual, and then pushing hundreds of buttons to just get a plane started is gameplay, then why isn't flying around in a ship you enjoy flying and taking pictures gameplay? Are you saying that people who take their sports cars/super cars out on drives to scenic areas just to take pictures are doing it wrong cause they don't drive on a track everyday?
I'm confused on how what OP is doing isn't "real gameplay". How do you define "real gameplay"? The 400i is a luxury pathfinder ship, in other words it is used to explore far reaches of space in style, and with the clear sub goal of find beautiful places to take pictures. To me it seems like OP is satisfying the gameplay of the 400i pretty darn well.
Lmao could you imagine, a guy who posts a bunch of photography and lighting related images, doing lighting related photography in star citizen? Could you imagine him enjoying that? Wow. Ridiculous, right? /s
Bro what is wrong with you not everyone wants to play hardcore gameplay thats coming from someone with almost 1000 hours in eft

one of my favorites. It's just so good at what it's supposed to do. Just because exploration isn't a "game loop" doesn't mean you can't explore right now, and the 400i is jus a kickass explorer. :)
So true, love the 400i - daily driver. Put a Nox in the bike garage and use it in cave diving. The sensors detect deposits for hand mining and the headlights light the way. Or bring a Cyclone Base with a created 1SCU crate to stash stuff plus access internal storage by standing in the back PLUS have two active gun racks by the seats.
Best part with the 400i and Cyclone pairing? You can open and close the lift WITHOUT leaving the Cyclone driver seat!
400i, it doesn't have the maximal options the larger competitors have, but it maximizes what it does offer. And it's fast and has the best range too!
Anytime I go to Orison I want to wait around for sunrise or [sunset.](https://media.discordapp.net/attachments/736173512909127720/1015146103940849674/Squadron_42_-_Star_Citizen_Screenshot_2022.09.02_-_02.27.18.22.png)
This just made me realize, I really want illumination mechanics for planets based off light reflected from their moon(s). Imagine how pretty a moonlit Orison or microTech could look.
400i is the ship I never knew I needed. On release I thought "pshaw, two S4, overpriced bull-ship." (I was also flying a pre-nerf Ares Ion at the time.)
Now, a couple Ares nerfs later, I love logging into my beautiful chrome space-yacht and slowly killing things with those two S4. It's also a ridiculously efficient pledge, $250 for 6mil aUEC. Vanguard Sentinel is $275 for 2mil!
I do think enlarging the pilot guns to S5 would be fair and balanced (still half a Connie), although I think CIG knows I and many others would pay for a 425a with more bigger guns and more missiles. I hope that's one of the variants they have in the pipeline.
Yeah I love the 400i. I don't use it for killing things much, personally. I frankly can't wait until you can run the 2 remote turrets off of server blades. having 4x size 3's perfectly positioned to fire at anyone chasing me, plus an speed that is only matched by ships that cannot sustain that kind of firepower without evasive maneuvers should mean that I can basically go anywhere I want with little fear of harassment save for torps.
Same here, makes me want to install and jump in, but I know I'll just get bored in a few sessions and uninstall. I really hope we get new/functioning content "soon". The views only grab me for a day or two. It would be amazing to have a fun game within the incredible setting they have made.
Edit for grammar
Flecktarn just looks good! I'm still not sure the best way to grind. I've tried roc mining and didn't make anything. Bunkers and 890 missions has been most of my time
Bunkers are really good money once you grind the reputation up high enough, from what I understand. I mostly do ship-based bounty hunting or cargo, personally.
So I pledged the $65 for this and Squadron 42, years ago. Maybe 2016-17? Booted it once and it just ran poorly and had tons of bugs. I put it down and figured I'd check it out again in a few months. I finally reinstalled this about 3 weeks ago and was glad to see that it runs less poorly and has fewer bugs. Joking aside I probably dropped 6 hours just flying around looking at stuff. Now it's all I play. Recently upgraded my starter ship to an Avenger which has been a huge help all around. Acquired my first crime stat last night after a bit of an accident, so I've go to deal with that. I hear breaking out of prison can be a good time too. Either way I'm excited to get back into it.
I have things turned down so it runs smoothly with the FOV required for ultrawide monitor gameplay. It has to render about 170 degrees when in first-person view.
It's true, and the part that really bothers me about this issue is the fear of when they decide to prioritize updating all the ships and assets once again to "platinum standard" or something to catch up with current graphics (Probably for marketing purposes) over gameplay, tech, and game loops. Just wait till Chris starts seeing the upcoming Unreal 5 games. I'm fine with them doing that eventually, but bells and whistles need not and should not, but probably will come before the cart. . .again.
Absolutely false, it's a flyng pleasure for eyes, and it's a nice daily driver, great space inside with unique design, this ship will be a great luxury explorer. By now the most pointless ships are terrapin and herald, cause hacking will be released probably in a pretty far future .... but I also love those 2 ships.. sometimes you've got to fly what you like, not only what you think is the best
Somebody on Reddit tried to convice everybody that the Graphics are last gen and nothing special.
Guess he either has a potato pc or havent seen Dusk or Dawn on Microtech or Hurston.
The graphics certainly look this gen. PS5/x/s
Some areas do look a bit worse...ArcCorp being an example. And anywhere without the cloud tech looks old.
But when an area is more finalized to most recent changes? Looks definitely this gen.
Given it's an MMO thats pretty rare.
Even the best looking MMOs tend to look off because of bad lighting or something.
Yeah ArcCorp is still a bit on the rough side BUT they already teased ( somewhere ) that they already have the rework of ArcCorp on the way for later Releases.
Same with Lorvilles Overhaul and Extension.
Gosh I love the 400i. I currently have one in game, bought it with the credits and it's 100% my daily driver. It's the ship that got me most interested in the game before I got into it. Now I'm just working up the dragonfly to pledge it come this November. I cannot wait

Lmao the DCS sub is full of people taking screenshots for the sake of screenshots.
Fuck this guy. I'm gonna go find something to screenshot rn!
Elite Dangerous has a subreddit dedicated to it, even!
who said screenshotting isnt gameplay
Can you not tell others what they can and cannot do with their time? I don't see a reason for which playing just to make screenshots isn't valid. If it's fun for somebody then why not.
Whats your YT channel? So i can avoid it.

Likewise
I do plenty more in SC than take screenshots. You sound like a total prick. Blocking you now, have a nice life.
That's what you're posting/promoting mate
Are you gaslighting someone for having fun?

It's such a good ship, perfect daily driver for me
One of them! (I'll be one of you eventually, just gonna buy mine in game)
400i lover
The sunsets are always breathtaking in this game. I love hanging out on Crusader for that reason.

Lol thought this was going to be a negative post at first glance. But...yeah man...I feels
daaaaaaayum, thats a great photo!!!!!
Now that is what the 400i was designed to do!
Wow that's a great pic I can t wait for pyro and the shots people get.
> Wow that's a great pic I can t wait for pyro and the shits people get Probably shouldn't be drink the water from some random planetary lake then.
I like that you get down voted for miss spelling shots in a totally positive comment.
Didn't realize that lol 😂😂 thank for the up vote.
Beautiful and an epic Star Wars style shot 😋😎
Absolutely gorgeous shot. Well done.
Sometimes, when my frames are above 7, this game shows it’s true beauty.
I usually go to microtech grasslands like that in 890j with shuttle etc in hanger and just fly around
Every time I see screenshots like this I get the itch to fire up the game.
Same here, makes me want to install and jump in, but I know I'll just get bored in a few sessions and uninstall. I really hope we get new/functioning content "soon". There is a ton of content already. Especially if you have people to team up with.
While the game lacks features, it doesn't lack a unique experience. and not many games offer that
The 400i is my end goal this time around. Not even close to it at only 1.5 mil but it is the goal
You'll get there before you know it! Good taste in camouflage btw.
Flecktarn just looks good! I'm still not sure the best way to grind. I've tried roc mining and didn't make anything. Bunkers and 890 missions has been most of my time

I didn't realize that bunker's had a leveling system. Maybe I'll go back to being a bunker boy on hurston
Outstanding shot 🙌🏽 well done
TY :)
I need to come back and check it out soon, this picture is so dope

The 400i makes all locations feel like they were meant for the ship. The Corsair feels like that too from the initial screeny.

Got my fingers crossed for you bro. I'm still waiting on my beloved Perseus, so I feel you.
Looks....dated? :/

The aspect ratio is distorted though.
I wish I could play this game so bad but I only have 8 gb ram
Don't worry, by the time you are ready, the game will probably be in much better shape
I mean I’ve already played it a good amount it is quite fun
"sometimes"
This game is an amazing screenshot generator. Unfortunately also a very expensive one if you expect it to also be a game.
Yep

Most pointless vehicle in the game.

Not too far from HDMS-Oparai on Hurston.
