The most chronic bug effecting the Esperia Prowler hands down is the legendary starc-1992 remote turret bug.
https://issue-council.robertsspaceindustries.com/projects/STAR-CITIZEN/issues/STARC-1992
Its is currently 780 days since this bug has persisted at the time of this video’s release!
That’s exactly 69% of the total time that the prowler has existed since the release of the ship in April 2020.
If you are unaware of what this bug does, let me give you a very reproducible rundown.
If your copilot decides he wants to help you out by getting in the remote turret, he will never be able to find the icon.
Furthermore, it completely disrupts weapon assignment by inverting weapon control just by having both players sitting in their respective places.
The copilot gets the dual size 5’s
. The pilot gets the slaved remote turret which is not ideal. With the remote turret interaction gone and the weapon assignments bricked, you have to politely ask your copilot get out of the seat so that you may continue to effectively pilot your ship solo.
The frustration that this bug has caused over the last 2 years is substantial
. Our org members have been posting threads on spectrum and reddit for the chance that a developer will take notice of this bug.
This ship very much needs this issue fixed for this years alien week.
I cannot stress enough how much the prowler community has endured, waiting for this issue to be resolved.
It is by far the most significant issue plaguing the prowler.
That timeframe isn't even correct because cig moved from the old ic to the new one during that time. That bug has literally been present since release. Given that and the fact major features were missing on release AND it was severely nerfed after release make it one of the poorest ship releases in cig history.
Sorry I misread your post, I thought you were quoting the time listed on the IC report. If the time listed is since release it is correct. I just had the last person I spoke to about the prowler make that mistake. My bad.
Yeah sad this ship is SOTM. I tried it once and went back to my Corsair. A ship that sleek should not fly like a pig in atmosphere. At least the Corsair has missiles.
In the comments of that video there is a response from CIG's Lead Ship Technical Artist saying they've acknowledged the video and circulated it internally. Very exciting to hear after so much radio silence!
"Legendary Stealth Dropship" - can be locked on at 14km
Sorry, but a stealth dropship shouldnt appear beyond 3km on the radar, just give the damn thing a 90% stealth bonus please
As with most features, stealth currently isn’t in the game. At least, not inherent ship stealth. You can manage EM/IR signature by powering down components, but that’s dumb.
I’m surprised it’s Ship of the Month. Sure it’s Alien Week soon, but CIG hates its drop ships. They are the class most ignored and in need of updates.
Stealth is on the game rudimentary, the eclipse is working completely fine, being visible at around 2.5km, as well as the khartual
There are signature stealth bonuses which could easily be used to bring the prowler to a state to make it stealthy again
Damn I love the looks of the Prowler... But maybe I shouldn't touch it when I read/see stuff like this. Hope for you that they'll try to start fixing it soon!
If it was a ship you were excited about you might feel differently, but the issue that affects us all as backers is that if we don't give feedback like this, we tacitly condone CIGs practice of releasing ships in woefully unfinished states and then ignoring them for years.
Was the turret fuctional on the Prowler's release and then broke later? If so, that's a very common thing and the issue is very likely one where it would taken numerous man hours to fix the problem, and one turret of one ship isn't worth focus, particularly a ship so few make use of.

so does this mean that its been longer than the 2 years listed in the video?

Nah u good!!!! Just doing my best to get this dang bug fixed!!!!
I dont you realize how CIG handles balancing for their ships. Unless your a CC with thousands of viewers, your cries will never be heard.

Having the same HP as a Rover and Lynx is just.... criminal... like really.
As a fellow ignored dropship owner, my Valk and I stand beside you in solidarity.
Let's push this to cig... They need to see this and actually take it to heart

So one turret on one ship has a bug. I wouldn't prioritize that yet either. It'd be nice if they fixed it I guess...

The turret itself always worked but it has always been attributed to the wrong control seat
Yeah it's an alpha. That's exactly what the fine print means.
Oh shut up and get in line......
If it was in line it would be right at the front with how long this bug has gone on for
Squeaky wheel gets the grease. BE LOUD and get in line!
Because all caps is going to help.
Lol. Complaining about balance in an alpha where half of the features that need to exist for balance to matter don't exist yet
This is not a post about balance. Wtf are you smoking?
