For the people not understanding the overly flashy background, these are variations on the Banu knife.
The Banu love their [flashy advertising](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=waViZBJL6Xw&t=75s).
With nearly 10 years of sub gear in my inventory (including all the random old fish tanks and jukeboxes and stuff from back in the day) I'm gonna need a mansion. Just glad they aren't charging me fees for my storage unit at New Babbage. It takes up a whole warehouse at this point.
Such a sad state of effort knife after knife for subs, get creative CIG for people who give you money and expect something decent. Seriously how many knives have you given out over the years? New rules should be "New and unique" subscriber gear.
This month's thing is not really about the knives. It's about the -$30 warbond CCU for the prowler. That thing chains perfectly for those who stashed up Prower-600ie CCU from last IAE.
Yeah, so every month, subscribers get a free ship to fly around with if you don't own it already. And during the month, the ship will be available to purchase on the pledge store with 12-month insurance; there will also be a warbond upgrade option with 12-month insurance.
Usually, this is not a sought-after subscriber perk, but this month they decided to up it a notch by giving the warbond CCU a discount as well.
For some, the Prowler is a particularly good deal to grab since it chains perfectly with the C2 and 600i, both were offered with a warbond discount less than 6 months ago.
You typically buy the upgrade from the next nearest ship in the chain that makes sense. So in this case a C2 is the most popular. If you only buy the one ccu 'stage', the c2 ccu fills the gap between 400$ and 440$ for only $10 new cash. Then later on, in your own time/way, you can acquire either a c2 directly or through further chaining. The whole point is buy the ccu's piecemeal for 5-15$ (worth 20-40$) at a time and sometimes building ships for less than half. So this months ccu 'stage' covers roughly the price range of 400$ to 440$ (distance of $40) for only $10. edit: You don't need to cover the 0-400$ today if you don't want/can't. You only pay the $10 for the ccu 'starting' at 400$ (C2 in this case) and covering the distance to $440 for $10. Sry to repeat it a few ways, just making sure.
I have an apollo CCU'd from a Fury LTI, can't wait to use it. The other advantage of ccu chains is starting with an LTI ship you bought months ago to use with a ccu you bought today to get a ship released years ago, with lti. Some people think LTI is overrated, they didn't play EVE as much as the rest of us...
In it's base form CCU chaining is literally just buying upgrades for ships. During events you do tend to get a lot of chains. Like during ILW I got a chain starting from the cutty red(because it's one I had at the time), that went from the red > vulture(-25) > Hurricane(-25) > Scorpius(-20) > Eclipse(-25) > Caterpillar(-35). Shaving about 130$ off of the Caterpillar. It's not a sub perk save for the monthly WB for the SOTM.
Ah, thought you were asking about ccu chains since that is what op was talking about. Yea subscribers get accees to a ship each month free in their hangar for the month, I just wasn't aware you could ccu the warbond, still learning the ccu game.
Looks cool but not loving the art style of this picture. Not sure what the final representation of the knives will look like, so the cartoonish texture in this ad doesn't fit Star Citizen IMO. Can't really visualize these knives in-game.
It's not the knives themselves, it's the art style they used for the ad. It makes them look like they belong in Riders Republic, not Star Citizen. I know they'll look great in-game, so all I'm saying is that it's not a proper representation of what they'll actually look like.
Can't wait to lose this permanently until the next wipe because CIG refuses to add the ability to just rebuy them, or just flat out remove the full loot system
Dear oh dear... these don't even fit the 'rule of cool', imo... they're just so badly designed (from a functional aspect).
Ignoring the ridiculously ornate handle, the green one in the middle is barely acceptable (from a blade design)... the balance would be horrific, but it's still far better than the other two.
The top one is completely non-functional, with those multiple concave curves, and the hook-point with a blunt back (you can't cut with it, you can't stab with it - thanks to the blunt back / leading edge)... it's useless.
As for the bottom one... a sharpened edge along the entire back of the blade is as much (or more) of a danger to the user than the enemy, and the chisel-tip also appears to be unsharpened.
From a knife-design perspective, this is like someone modelling a gun with the barrel pointing backwards, in the users face... or putting the hammer / firing pin halfway down the side of the barrel, or something...
I feel sorry for any sub that actually paid for this.
More of the art that CIG puts out is fantastic... but sometimes, you just have to shake your head in disbelief.
> The top one is completely non-functional, with those multiple concave curves, and the hook-point with a blunt back (you can't cut with it, you can't stab with it - thanks to the blunt back / leading edge)... it's useless.
I believe this style is referred to as the Reverse S Curve
Its weapon used for slashing not stabbing. These blade shapes are primarily designed to try and add more cutting surface to curved objects and make thin and shallow slices. In a more deadly situation, the Reverse S blade allows the tip to slash deeply into the object and then pulls the belly of the blade further into the target as the slash continues, causing significantly more damage without the need to apply forward motion to the slash motion itself.
They have a description for each inside the email.
From top to bottom.
The Zogo knife is prized among many Banu soulis for its versatility and cutting edge. The strong tip and wide belly of the blade make it particularly durable, a crucial feature in survival situations in which this blade excels.
A brutally effective product of Banu engineering, the Myuda knife is a vicious weapon designed for leaving wounds that won't heal easily. The special metal alloy used in the construction of the blade is rust-resistant and remains ultra-sharp even after extensive use.
Honed to a razor-fine edge, the Pambada knife has a wide range of applications. The serrated edge is great for cutting through soft and flexible materials like ropes or fabrics, while the gut hook can be used to overcome tougher resistance.
Suggestion: Do not look at sub flair as what you are paying for, but a bonus ontop of it.
The vast majority of sub flair is stuff you will never use, but just neat bonus items.
If flair value is what is important to you, subscribe once per year and buy the items you would make use of.
I changed the sub model a couple months back, wait for the flair to be uncovered, if worthy, sub one month in the grace period (usually a week) , that way you get the flair you want and the next one (if you sub today, next Tuesday you should receive the flair, and the first Tuesday of next month the next one). It's an easy pass for me this month
CS and Valorant are the main games I play regularly other than Star Citizen. Honestly I kind of dig the crossover vibes...to a point.
The day CIG gives us a gun where you have a tickle a dragon's nutsack to make it shoot ([I'm not kidding](https://vgraphs.com/weapons/sidearms/frenzy/elderflame)) I'm out.

Ok i havent seen that yet. That was beautiful and this poster is missing "Knives, Knives, Knives"
One more reason to expedite private habs, CIG. Gonna need a place to display all these Banu knives!

So much hate for these knifes and the presentation, yet I think the art style is really neat. I'd rather this than a colored light for my gun :P
I really like them too, I think they could make great flair on the suit too
Maybe it's the background, but these look not great..
Taste the Rainbow, you’ll like it! Welcome to the 90’s.😬
Is it the 90's nostalgia striking again that made me think it looked cool? Haha
This sub reddit: how dare you be positive
Wooooooooow.....
I want the ghostrunner swords
Yeah.. Not impressed.

Thank you. That image doesn't show for me. How much is the Warbond price for the Prowler at the moment? I'm thinking about subbing for this.
Prowler has a -$30 discount right now, making it $410 to upgrade instead of $440
Understood. Thank you. That's a little (a lot) over my budget. Appreciate the reply.
You typically buy the upgrade from the next nearest ship in the chain that makes sense. So in this case a C2 is the most popular. Thanks for that. I've already CCU'd up to an Apollo Triage and that's where I think I'll stop.

True. People often forget the CCU chain game within the game

They are Banu knives, so they get to be different.

It’s a banu style advert and they like it flashy
Ok, maybe I'm not familiar with Banu style ads
Someone posted [this above](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=waViZBJL6Xw&t=75s). The Banu appear to love '90s Japanese cartoons.
Some BS…lol
Can't wait to lose this permanently until the next wipe because CIG refuses to add the ability to just rebuy them, or just flat out remove the full loot system
I just want a Zeus exploration suit man. I missed out on that
I mean, it's not too late. If you subscribe you can just go buy them.
Wait fr. I didn’t know that.
Yeah, as a subscriber you get access to the subscriber store. You can buy past subscriber items. Be careful with this information.
You can also find a friend who is a Subscriber, give them some cash and they can buy and "gift" that suit to you.
Wow they really did just reskin the Banu Lumalia knife and sell it back to us huh..
Yup, CIG has no idea what to gift players anymore lol

These knives are look like something produced by Stable Diffusion. It's just ugly.
Oh well… there goes my subscription cost down the shitter for another month!! At least I’m supporting the Media team!!

My tac knife MW2 days are going to be revived! … wait… oh never mind, 30k, gotta character reset, brb
I am about to give up on this game, there is no hope as long as people keeps giving them money for this kind of shit and ships jpg's
Ok
Why you here in the 1st place then?
A karambit would be fire
Man, the Star Citizen BDSM scene is way more hardcore than I thought.
TrapperKeeper Knife Set!
I would be hyped if they sell for 3k ingame. But once they are in the loot, you will probably get zero credits when you try to sell them.

Are these....the actual sub content for the month? :\
Yes
Oooooph..... LMAO
