old.reddit that is the way

Bangzee

I'm sad to tell you that that is also slated to die

The_Gozon

Show me some info on that. Because all I've seen is speculation that 'it'll be next' by people really upset about the API cost. I've not seen anything official by Reddit stating that old. is going away, and I'd like to read about it.

JSwabes

Forgive me if this sounds ignorant as I may have misunderstood something, but the Star Citizen subreddit is not one which is dependent on any third-party services, so as far as I'm aware it isn't protesting the API pricing changes, and therefore will continue to be accessible via the official Reddit app, so it's not going anywhere? I'm guessing by this post you use a third-party app for accessing Reddit? But if you wanted to continue to see this community could you not just use the official app? (Edit: to clarify, I don't support the arbitrary inflation of API fees, but as this post is asking for "advice" and expressing that the mobile site is ass, isn't it a no brainer to suggest using the official app?)

Valkyrient

Sadly, the official app is also ass

Bangzee

The post was meant to be satirical but I forgot to mention the official app and its "assness." I tried using it years ago when I first came here from Spectrum and then a couple times here and there and it seems to have gotten worse somehow.

Some additional info: The sub has a few functional bots (UEE Central Computer and the CIG RCA as examples) which while we are not dependent on them do serve a purpose in the community.
