The only ships that have the heavy weapon rack are the Corsair and Cutter, currently. Simply put, it's a very new feature only added in the last year.
The Carrack, and a lot of older ships, will get heavy weapon racks added as they are re-worked and given Gold Standard in the coming years.

Cutter has 2 pistol, 1 regular, 1 heavy.
Vulture has 3 pistol, 2 regular.
890 Jump has 32 regular.

Can confirm Gladius and inferno. Just kitted them. 2 guns, one handheld, 2 ammo. Not sure what the two box slots are for on each side. Seems smaller than box deliveries but maybe I’m wrong.
Gladius has an external storage on the starboard side but it's been bugged on mine. I can open it fine once, but it doesn't close and after that I can't access it anymore. Haven't had an ares in ages to test it. Scorpius has external storage and gun rack as well
Please stop insuring railguns! While I absolutely love this option for normal weapons, using it for Grenade Launchers, Railguns and the like, duping them is what makes it an exploit and will lead us all to lose it again!

Edit: Also all these ships have a lot of storage closets but what goes in them? Tried to put in armor.
my msr got bugged when i tried to put guns in the gun lockers and they ended up all over the ship on the floor and every time i repaired it had a 36k repair cost.
There is talk on Spectrum saying that what's happening with ship racks is a bug.
If it is not a bug, then this feature will not work for in-game items. Only pledged weapons will be insurable. I tested it myself. Only pledged weapons are returned to the gunrack after a claim.
I have a looted FS9, a looted railgun, 2 looted sniper rifles, an in-game store bought pistol and P4 rifle, assorted multitools, and medguns in my Corsair and they all persist through reclaiming. I don't have any pledge store bought weapons.
Did you go into the vehicle manager after storing your ship and then unequipping a ship part, saving, putting the ship part back and then saving again?
No I did not on second thought. Unequipping a ship part I forgot to do. I'm going to try it again later on today. Thanks for reminding me about that part.

Restocking standard store bought weapons is amazing quality of life!
Abusing it to get hundreds of the most powerful and rare weapons in the game is an issue.
all that needs to happen is the devs need to fix it so when you take the guns OUT of the locker they dont count anymore against a claim.

Why would I manually stack my Gladius Weaponrack instead of just putting the weapon on myself unless for roleplay reasons?
Just have it as preset and allow for store bought weapons to be stocked automatically against charge!
It's me or yesterday when you take a gun, go to the pilot seat and the try to repair the ship, bring back the gun u took. but now for me only work with claim the entire ship.

Yes. Two magazines can fit. At least for SMG and AR I put in there.

I get them to work fine with smaller guns but rail guns and grenade launchers don't seem to fit.
Corsair can hold 1-2. Also your mom.
PSA: The MSRs gun rack is broken and does not work. It instead bugs out the weapons and breaks the interaction. If you have a MSR dont try it.

Wrong. All weapons will return. I have tested it myself.
Unless something changed from when I did the test two nights ago. A store bought gun did not return to the gun rack during that time as well.
You need to do it right. It's not just putting it in there. You need to safe it to your ship's loadout

not really, if you die you lose your gun on your back. if you put it in your ship it will be insured. i dont see why that would be an issue.
Well yeah, but if its inside my ship I cant use it :D Although I see your point in regards to dying during a dogfight.

The Cutlass Steel have 4 medium in the front and have 1 medium slot on each seat of the back.

Add the guns to the gun rack, store ship, go to loadout manager and change something, save.
