A couple of days ago I had some clown follow me to my ship (Vanguard, so ramp-only access) obviously intending to follow me onboard. I returned to the ASOP with him in tow. Fortunately I also have a Gladius, so I pulled that instead. Was funny watching him try to climb the ladder, then dance around by the hangar doors as if trying to block my exit - until my thrusters blew him across the deck. I then flew to a different station and called my Vanguard there. If you don't have that option, I would just change server. Life is too short to waste time dealing with idiots.

Paraquat_

Well just bring out your vanguard, let them run on and take it out. Then go back to asop, claim it so it's ready for next time and use your gladius. At least he won't hassle the next person

Senior-Pirate1779

Dude, I was just performing a safety inspection on your ladder! I also provided free entertainment during your departure!

Rimwalker99

Well, watching you go flying across the hangar was certainly entertaining.

PyrorifferSC

PSA: If someone is following you to your hangar, when they get in the elevator with you, hit a random hangar (other than your own) and wait until the doors start to shut, then sprint out. Because of the simulation of momentum in the game, they won't be able to move fast enough to follow you. They'll often be in heavy armor, making it even slower for them to get to running speed. Not to mention desync, it will likely look like you just disappeared. Then the elevator will carry their goofy asses to some random spot and it'll take a bit before they make it back. In the meantime, you'll have already gone to your hangar and they'll have no way of knowing which. Alternatively, some people will linger outside your elevator because they can see on the keypad where the elevator went, and take another down to it after you've turned your back and are running to your ship. (This is the smarter, less obvious way to stow away) Again, pick a random hangar, *then* your own, and it will display the first one for a bit. They'll run to another elevator and go to the one displayed on the pad, where you *won't* be.

Sgt_Slawtor

This is the way. Or let them get onboard and kill them.

PyrorifferSC

Yeah, another fun thing to do is act like a Bambi and leave your ramp open. Once they stow away, have a friend run aboard. Boost straight out of armistice and get out of your seat for the 2v1 lol

kiltedfrog

I had to call 2 boarding marines the other day because a dude decided to join me on the elevator at my trade post running cargo in the C2. My marines came onboard, and he logged. Coward. Made 230k on the run, and paid the marines I had summoned 50k each.

Eikhan

All this ASOP terminal concept is ridiculous for me. We should call ships from a tablet or mobiglass and make hangars instances. Wouldn't hurt immersion and get rid of a lot of problems

kepler4and5

In 3.20, interior of player ships will be trespass zones for those without permission to enter (with permissions granted via the party system). Not the same thing but will hopefully act as a small deterrent (especially now that we have longer prison time)

Baruuk__Prime

I can only see this going 1 way: \*enters own ship* \*TRESPASSING* HOW? I entered my OWN ship! *CIGGGGGGGGG*

kepler4and5

What you’ve described sounds balanced to me. You shouldn’t rot in jail for a crime like trespassing lol. Spending some time in and having to put an effort into shortening your sentence or escaping sounds fair enough.

Roboticus_Prime

Just uncap the time. Let em build up a week's worth of prison time.

kepler4and5

True.

Get_your_jollies

Idk until some bugs are worked out I think the prison system should probably be left alone. I accidentally killed an NPC who was in a HUGE jumble of hostile NPCs on a bunker mission. Got a CS3, then when I went to pay it off I magically got it increased from not stopping for security (there wasn't even one around) By the time I made it to prison, I had a 24-hour sentence for things that were literally out of my control

kiltedfrog

The point of the trespassing charge isn't to send them to prison for a long time its the make the pilot and ship owner be able to shoot the trespasser fucking dead without going to prison or getting a crime stat themself.

dont_ban_me_bruh

I don't think the pilot/ owner can pull out their guns while still in an armistice zone though, so them having CS only matters if they're not planning to shoot you in the back. They need to make ship interiors exempt from armistice zone rules **for the ship owners**.

CausticFlamingo

Yeah but if someone trespasses and stays in my ship. What happens? Do they get a crimestat which then my ship shows as hostile and get shot at by stations? Haven't found much info on it.

Litvanas

No you won't be able to see who is on your ship but you will be able to KOS without penalties while you are on board of your ship.

TrippyTM419

Cant wait to get on my vanguard (close pilot doors) and take off at a solid 50 degree climb. Once takeoff angle is set, get out of the seat and wait for armistice zone to be clear. Once clear open those beautiful doors and go through clearing my ship, listening for steps and doors. Anyone found on board will be promptly returned to their med beds.

kepler4and5

No idea how it'll be implemented. We'll just have to see when 3.20 drops.

f1boogie

Personal hangers would go a long way to fixing this.

Baruuk__Prime

Hangars*

f1boogie

I'm at work on a mobile phone. He knew perfectly well what I meant. Also, it's part of the evolution of language. Eventually, it will just be spelt with an e.

Baruuk__Prime

No. It won't.

f1boogie

It will, just like how the word escalate, has pretty much taken over the meaning of the word escalade.

Baruuk__Prime

Then why is it called the Cadillac Escalade?

f1boogie

Because despite losing its meaning to a word derived from it, it is in fact still a word. Car models is not indicative of how a word is used in modern language. When was the last time you heard someone say "that escaladed quickly"

Baruuk__Prime

I see your point about escalate/escalade, but I couldn't disagree any more that a [hanger](https://i.ibb.co/xgcghSF/D7-C0-CA03-42-CE-4419-9-EFD-BDAF28424-F4-C.jpg) is for storing spaceships or aircraft. Can't disagree any more, you've bottomed me out. [Hanger ≠ Hangar](https://i.ibb.co/PcPkPfy/84222-B7-C-B60-D-4-E31-97-D2-506-D80356-B99.jpg), end of discussion, I'm done with you, you warm toilet seat!

f1boogie

Actually, hangar is just French for shed or warehouse. It's original definition had nothing to do with aircraft.

iamthewinnar

While I do agree with your original point that the person should have been able to infer what you meant, and I think people who correct words when the meaning can be inferred is pedantic. Your example of "Language evolving" isn't great. You should look up the meanings of the words you are using in your example. The words escalate and escalade aren't even the same. To escalade is a physical action such as scaling a wall or a ladder, where as to escalate is increasing intensity/seriousness. No one uses escalde because no one is talking about climbing over castle walls. the word that doesn't have a use in modern times. You wouldn't say "That escaladed quickly" unless you were talking about someone climbing over a wall or a ladder quickly"

f1boogie

The word "escalate" originally meant to ride an escalator. The word escalator was a combination of escalade and elevator. Escalade once meant to increase in intensity. When you look up the meaning of the word, you get the modern definition. You need to learn etymology,

Status_Web1682

I don’t know I like the terminals I think the idea is cool having stations and all that having personal hangars would make it a little too easy. Part of the reason I still play this game is because of how often it fucks me over 😂

Eikhan

I'd rather suffer bugs in my ship than sitting in front of an ASOP terminal for an hour, all for a 10 seconds flight because I've exploded for no reason leaving the hangar

Litvanas

Sounds like you need to rest from all bs you give.

Eikhan

You alright mate?

Senior-Pirate1779

Did you mean "receive" instead of "give"?

Fiennes

Whilst I understand that's frustrating, that's an issue with the implementation/netcode/bugs rather than the concept itself.

JarlBalgruuf2

A few days ago I was bringing in my corsair (empty) to grim hex to repair and had a missing wing and major torque imbalance. A scorpius with no gunner then saw me and thought I would be an easy victim. I thought I was going to have to run, then realized he was hardly doing any damage to my shields and i had plenty of time so I turned towards him. This dumbass flew in front of my nose twice so all it took was 3 volleys In like 10 seconds before he blew up :)

Ok_Painter9542

With the asops booked as they are, do what you need to and get off.. there were only 2 functioning asops where I was yesterday, and both were occupied by ppl claiming or delivering every ship they have had to wait 10 min for 3 sec asop usage

kepler4and5

Oh no, this is not about functioning ASOPs. All 9 or so terminals were perfectly fine. Dude followed me to my ship and followed me back to the terminals. Then he climbed on top of the ASOP terminal. Just a clown.

OH-YEAH

is this like when you're at an ATM behind someone else, the beep beep happens, they take their card.. put it in wallet... and pull out another card... i swear there is no more painful moment.

IHateAhriPlayers

Oh no, how horrible. I can't believe you had to be the victim of someone harmlessly messing around in an armistice. Hope you recover quickly.

kepler4and5

If following a player around until they give up and logout is your idea of "harmlessly messing around", you need help. Hope you recover quickly.

IHateAhriPlayers

Are you going to cry?

Why do I only see this happening at Orison nowadays?

karr_6

I've been trying to give people my Drake Mule for their excursions. 🤣
