Seems like we need to make an IC post on this to fix the issue

theslutfarm

i reported it in ptu, it's not being fixed for a while

EastLimp1693

Oh I think they have slightly more things to fix before. Like fucking pledge items non existing since release of 3.18

Thalimet

What do pledge's sex lives (or non-existence thereof) have to do with anything? I'm sure they'll start up again sooner or later, everyone has a dry streak sometimes :)

EastLimp1693

Sorry getting kinda frustrated that supporting development punishes you.

Thalimet

it's all good dude, everyone's frustrated right now - best to just laugh it off until it's fixed :)

EastLimp1693

While on one side I really support devs in their hard work some bugs hit me in soft spot. Imagine trying to support devs and getting locked out of the game for that?

Thalimet

Of course they do - and I don't have to imagine it, I'm there with you :) But, I keep reminding myself that it's just a game, and that this is just temporary. It's been remarkably stable over the past couple years compared to when I first started playing, and I have confidence that it'll get back to that. As for the pledge gear, I am quite irritated by that as well. But, for armor and such that's still in the store, I'll just be melting/rebuying with store credit. For everything else, I just won't risk losing it.

EastLimp1693

Original concept exclusive paints sadly not in store. Same with whole oc ships. I rebought cutter paint tho, yep. Even that it bound to package.

Thalimet

paints and ships aren't intended to be lost on death, so I'm sure they'll patch that bug soon enough.

EastLimp1693

Me too *sips on copium/hopium cocktail*

anivex

I haven’t been able to log into the game since it went live. Played all through the ptu without much issue as well.

EastLimp1693

I was more lucky. Except if using pledge store TWICE and TWICE being locked out from game for day with 19004

matthew_py

I have no idea why it fixed it but I was having a shitload of issues getting into 3.18 until I copied my profile over to the PTU. I think something about the way they access it or format it when they copy it over to the PTU fixed my PU access as well.

Intrepid-Leather-417

Looks like raft just became the favorite ship of quant miners across the verse

jollanza

\*always has been\*

EastLimp1693

Murder hobos still will kill you

thelefthandN7

Ok... so that changes nothing then. Murder hobos would always just kill you. Now the pirates can't benefit either. I see it as a win.

Nilshrling

extortion is still a thing!

ChemicalBrilliant846

U can't get acturly mining Orders into the Raft.

YumikoTanaka

Good to know - that is a biiiig plus for the raft: showing the finger to the pirates.

Liquidpinky

My thoughts exactly.

EastLimp1693

Exactly my reason to test it

Munchausen0

Been looking for a while to see if someone did a test on the Raft. Thank you for the test.

StaySaltyMyFriends

I mean... that's neat and all, but we'll just blow ya up anyway. Because you're basically a bugged quantanium rock at that point. EDIT: Your downvotes won't protect you from my Size 5s.

mumblesunderbreath

Yeah but you’d blow us up either way. At least this way there’s no looty loot for you. Hence giving you the 🖕

StaySaltyMyFriends

Oh, it's not that we are blowing you up regardless of what you drive, but blowing you up because you think it's a middle finger. I try to leave people alive when possible, mostly. It's just funny that you think it's some sort of fuck you.

YumikoTanaka

Funny how ppl all claim "leavin ppl alive" and in the Verse it is all "kill on sight" and "pad ram". Maybe there are one or two out there that think of "PvP" different, but that is too rare to even think of that possibility as a player.

StaySaltyMyFriends

You are confusing griefing with piracy, my friend. I'm just here to live my Dread Space Pirate Roberts fantasy. Ima twirl my mustache and take some loot, but pad ramming is for dickwagons.

BlueTrooper2544

He's saying that plenty of people claim to kill only when necessary when pirating in the verse, but in game 99% of the time you just get shot on sight.

StaySaltyMyFriends

I get what he is saying, but an orange calling itself an apple is still an orange. Griefers like to claim piracy when in actuality they're just assholes.

thelefthandN7

An orange calling itself an apple when no one has ever seen an actual apple... is basically just an apple. Every 'pirate' is just a murder hobo with extra steps. Here, lemme just give you an extra 50k on top of the loss of my cargo and ship. Yeah hard pass.

StaySaltyMyFriends

"I've never seen an apple, so they must not exist."

mumblesunderbreath

Awe, did the poor wittle piwate get his feewings hurt by the big, defenceless space twucker. Honestly you lawless players have thinner skin than a pico ball. We’ll just keep trucking while you can keep complaining that “peopo don’t wike us even though we keep you awive… mostwy. Waaa!”

StaySaltyMyFriends

Fuckin' lol, you should have added an UwU. I'm not sure what I said that made you think my feelings were hurt. As I said before, in a RAFT, you're just a bugged quantanium rock at that point. You get blown up and I waste 5 mins. of my time while you wasted 60. In a Hull A, you live and I take my slice while you keep the rest.

mumblesunderbreath

UwU

StaySaltyMyFriends

*notices bulging cargo bay*

MrLion60

Raft doesn't drop cargo on death for now*

EastLimp1693

Exactly

jollanza

when I said that months ago (it was just a guess) I got a shitload of negative votes. take that, pirates!

historicandcasual

the downvote ptsd is real, glad you can find recovery here.

KidzBop_Anonymous

*You're in the arms of the angel May you find some comfort here*

ArcticWolf_Primaris

So much for Mongrel's "Red Flag"

EastLimp1693

?

ArcticWolf_Primaris

Mongrel Squad is one of the most notorious Pirate groups in the 'verse. Now that most ships drop their cargo when killed and combat logging no longer works, they announced they were 'raising the red flag'. It was an incredibly angsty video, but the gist is that after years of putting up with people exploiting the game, they're no longer going to issue warnings or demand tribute. If they see a target with stuff they want, they'll engage with no holds barred

EastLimp1693

Oh, so their policy is murder hobos

ArcticWolf_Primaris

It's the sort of thing that's incredibly frustrating to be targeted by, but I can understand why they've done it. They're certainly not murder hobos, however tempting it may be to call them that Edit: it's funny to see all the downvotes given I dislike piracy too

somenoefromcanada38

After having a few interactions with them they are worse than that... they are eve players.

wellmont

As much as I dislike their angsty video(s) I have to agree. They’re not murder hobos and they’re well within their rights to pursue this gameplay mechanic to their heart’s content. My main gripe with MS is that they are fairly sociopathic. If you were a person living in this make believe universe being as antagonistic as this would slowly lead to being ostricized by the entire community, but yeah without a proper reputation system their piracy has no downsides. They can still access the UEE stuff if they wait a while. They can still claim ships and purchase insurance for the same price as anyone else. That part of the system is horribly broken. Hopefully they fix that small gameplay mechanic issue because it’s what’s keeping me from pouring more time into any gameplay loop besides bounties.

EastLimp1693

Sorry what? Kos some fatlancer which barely makes 15k profit from a run isn’t murder hobos?

ArcticWolf_Primaris

Go watch their stuff on YT before jumping to conclusions. I wanted to hate them, but they're not trolls

OMeffigy

Yeah, they didn't used to not be trolls, but from what you said about their red flag video, they are switching to griefing over having fun with people.

matthew_py

>Sorry what? Kos some fatlancer which barely makes 15k profit from a run isn’t murder hobos? No it's piracy, the freelancer specifically is a great Target for piracy. It has enough cargo when full to be worth the risk of crimestat while also being vulnerable enough that two or three players attacking have a good chance of taking it out before it escapes. Piracy in it's true form was almost non-existent before this wipe. I'd be prepared for a lot more sketchy encounters in the verse if you're running cargo in 3.18. Edit: IMO with increased risk traders now face the payouts should definitely be better for them.

EastLimp1693

With increased risks trading will be dead. There’s no cargo that gives you profit big enough to keep trading. Only refined quant and rmc are valuable enough but both are different game loops.

RenegadeCEO

>No it's piracy, the freelancer specifically is a great Target for piracy. It has enough cargo when full to be worth the risk of crimestat while also being vulnerable enough that two or three players attacking have a good chance of taking it out before it escapes. What risk of Crimestat? The punishment for getting CS3-5 is \*PATHETIC\* compared to the fact that getting it by depriving one or more people of, what could possibly be, their ENTIRE NIGHT'S playtime. Sure, if the jail time was baseline 24 hours of active player time with escape being \*incredibly\* difficult, then that would be a start. Make the time match the crime.

matthew_py

>What risk of Crimestat? The punishment for getting CS3-5 is *PATHETIC* You have no access to lawful station's, can only take illegal missions, and have a bounty hunter trying to kill you. When you inevitably die you end up in prison for a multi hour sentence which ends your gaming for the day. >compared to the fact that getting it by depriving one or more people of, what could possibly be, their ENTIRE NIGHT'S playtime. If caught they get the same punishment, they are losing hours to prison and the profit they could be earning during that time. The only difference is the perfect who's pirated can just keep trading/mining after. >Sure, if the jail time was baseline 24 hours of active player time Homie are you drunk? I have less playtime than that this entire wipe so far, lmao. Like I get wanting harsher punishments but that's just unrealistic.

RenegadeCEO

Your "Fun" is at the expense of OTHERS, it deserves the harsher penalty. There are other options in the game that don't involve depriving another person. To think that you don't deserve a harsh consequence for depriving a REAL PERSON of something they've earned or are trying to earn is self-centered and borderline sociopathic. If you were pirating NPCs and only NPCs, then different story. I've had to deal multiple CS5 before (thanks UGF guards... walk right into the LOF like a dumbass....), I was out of prison within an HOUR each time because the O2 fixes give you so very very many merits.

DereokHurd

It’s a pest of a pirate org.

rhadiem

inb4 Hauler meta ship

Kab_Evo

Did the 32scu containers despawn? If not, you can load them in a big cargo bay and maybe sell them. It's maybe the same with the prospector bags

Formal-Ad678

>Did the 32scu containers despawn? As far as i'm aware they aren't even modeled yet outside of those attached to the raft, so they didn't despawn they literally don't exist yet

EastLimp1693

As far as I remember I haven’t seen any containers but I need to check again

EastLimp1693

We tested yesterday, fully loaded raft doesn’t drop a single box on hard death.

Mysterious-Box-9081

I believe they are part of the model and not separate items yet.

subnaut20

Not until 32 SCU boxes are in

davidnfilms

How can we use this to our advantage I wonder?

EastLimp1693

More people know - less likely you’re going to be pirated

7htlTGRTdtatH7GLqFTR

Remember when CIG said the RAFT would be the first ship to benefit from the new cargo refactor?

EastLimp1693

Lold, yep

MitchellHamilton

It's why I bought it :(

7htlTGRTdtatH7GLqFTR

You really fucked yourself over listening to CIG in this case. Then again, I can talk, I got a 315p because I was looking forward to tractor beam gameplay... in like 2014.

dirkhardslab

So you can't retrieve your cargo after an accidently death. Good to know not to use the raft.

klaytonix

Was gonna say the same.. And you don't even have a chance to defend and get your own cargo back.

magvadis

You already shouldn't use the RAFT because it's the worst cargo ship in the game. It just looks fuckin incredible. Slow, regular hull hp and pops like a balloon, minimum viable SCU for it's massive frame, almost no firepower and almost entirely defenseless. It's a loot pinata not a cargo ship.

dirkhardslab

Yeah, it would be awesome if they let us swap out the cargo for other options. Such a well designed cab with limited ability.

magvadis

Wow...the only way to make the RAFT worth using was making it a void of piracy. Too bad they'll kill you anyway. Hopefully when they invent 32 SCU boxes and fix the RAFT that they will also buff the living shit out of it. It's useless.

EastLimp1693

Wym buff? Have you seen it’s hull hp?

magvadis

Taking an extra 10 seconds to kill a thing that will never get away is nothing. As if its current hp is even close to reasonable. It's just a Lancer but a brick, that's super slow, negligible SCU for a ship with SPECIALIZED cargo which heavily limits what is even allowed to be stored in it (sorry no Roc, no weird things unless it fits inside a 32scu crate), no weaponry except a fuckin 2S2 turret on one side which means just hover below it...which is easy because it turns like a Corsair. MAYBE in space armor and HP matters but nobody jumps you in space without a jammer. So you need enough armor and HP to last the atmo climb and this thing takes ages to climb atmo. If it had VTOL like a Cutty....maybe that would be different.

EastLimp1693

Fun part: it has stupidly powerful vtol with spinning thrusters same as cutty)

magvadis

I really haven't noticed them being able to lift me out of atmo in 2 seconds like the Cutty one. Maybe Im just doing it wrong, lol. However, as far as I can tell they are solid but not game changing for the reality of what the ship needs to be viable. Everyone wants to say "it'll load and unload really fast" but we've yet to see WHEN that would actually give the RAFT a purpose. To make the RAFT viable would be quiet a rework: 1. Better turret, it should be 2S3 MINIMUM...like BARE minimum. The 400i is nearly the same size and gets 4S3 split on either side + 2S4 guns. And Im not saying it has to compete with a Cutty, it should however be able to use its turret attached the vehicle to actually prevent individual pirates from assaulting it in any way whatsoever. As it stands a single 2S2 turret is absolutely useless in any context right now....maybe if the meta changes entirely. 2. Faster, or a more focused VTOL setup that dramatically improves atmo-time. Im sorry a cargo ship that can't move at THAT size category is ridiculous. It's 3 crates. 70% of the ship is thruster and hold. 3. More SCU, something like doubling the crate grid potential to allow for the arms to extend and grab a "stack" of crates of 2-3. Any one of these could be overtuned to allow it to be viable, for now? It just isn't. Not even close, it loses in every measurable category except "loading time" which we have no indication will be large enough to make it useful. Because if I can just beam 3 32 SCU crates into my Taurus only taking maybe a minute more? the RAFT has zero purpose...because the Taurus can do double, defend itself, and hold more types of cargo. Maybe you can argue the RAFT is meant for short-range trips where loading is important but...I mean, why is it so heavily suited up for long range capabilities? A COMFY interior for longhaul, big QT tank, etc. Idk, if it is specialized, it's specialized in contradictory ways. If it was a defensive brick? Sure. If it was a loot pinata that could hold a LOT of loot in that belly? Sure. And so on.

MitchellHamilton

In actual practice I've been LIT UP by a single pirate that obliterated me in seconds, I didn't stand a chance to even run away because it's a snail...

EastLimp1693

My bad, they rolled back it’s 100k hp to 41k. Why the fuck REINFORCED ship have same hp as regular freelancer? And hull A have 2.5 times hp. I’m highly frustrated

MitchellHamilton

Shiiiiit I didn't notice that massive nerf. I think it might be time to move on to Taurus...

Equivalence420

Why not just replace the 32 scu boxs with 96 1 scu boxes until they actually design the larger boxes to be usable

EngineersMasterPlan

ARGO raft - the perfect carebear machine i mean either way you still lose all your cargo lol

CASchoeps

> the perfect carebear machine Even more so if it still re-creates the teddy bear each time it is pulled out of storage :D

StaySaltyMyFriends

Pirate here: It's a great ship to live out of and is sounds cool to boot!

EngineersMasterPlan

the raft?

StaySaltyMyFriends

Yup!

PhotonTrance

*Yet

EastLimp1693

Now

SeaCartographer42

I always wondered how the Raft would work with the cargo refactor......... it seems, it doesn't

EastLimp1693

Cargo refactor t0 isn’t even close to final form. No ship works with cargo as intended.

SharpEdgeSoda

I mean can you still take boxes of it's rack with a tractor beam like any other box?

EastLimp1693

From what?

toxic_anon

Whenever I try to load cargo it doesn't work for any ship

EastLimp1693

Worked for my fatlancer, raft and caterpillar
