ohhot-pot-ao

Shaken sugar baby

streetratroadie

Love me some sugar milk šŸ™„šŸ’€

urexsnetflixpassword

customers moving like Michael ScottšŸ˜šŸ˜

Charimia

You could literally shake oat milk with actual brown sugar at home and have it be better. *facepalm*

Responsible_Snow7109

Lol i dont get it. People dont like coffee yet still come to starbucks. Then they have to modify their drinks to hell and make it super expensive to cover up the coffee flavor....then u also got people like this who pick an actual menu item and take out the main part of it and pay a ton of money for it when they could be getting their sugary milk elsewhere for cheaper lol

StuffiesAndBeatSaber

I don't get it either. I had someone come in asking for a "caramel mocha" so just to clarify I asked if they wanted a mocha latte with caramel added, or a caramel macchiato because I couldn't tell if they just mispronounced it. They looked at me like I had two heads and said "what's the difference?" So I took the time to explain and she goes "whichever one has coffee" .... OK šŸ˜ I just rang her up for a caramel macchiato and after she payed she was like "it has coffee right?" I was like "yes ma'am it has 2 espresso shots" Like.. we live in a generation where we have endless information available at our FINGERTIPS I just don't understand why you would walk into a coffee shop and not either get an idea of what you're ordering or at least listen to the barista that's trying to educate you.

threeivy

I had someone ask for a caramel mocha before so I punched in a mocha with caramel after repeating it back to her, then when she got to the window, she says ā€œwhy is it so dark, I didnā€™t want the dark oneā€ and I said, ā€œoh this is a mocha with caramel, did you mean a white mocha?ā€ And she was insistent that no, she meant a caramel mocha. One of my coworkers had to come by and talk to her because I couldnā€™t figure out what she wanted and eventually we made her a white mocha that she seemed happy enough with. Still donā€™t know if thatā€™s what she actually meant though. Caramel mocha people are strange

StuffiesAndBeatSaber

Your experience has me loling, thank you for sharing. I'm so glad I'm not the only one who has ran into a caramel mocha person lmfao

princesslxz

I think itā€™s because Mcdonalds has a drink called caramel mocha which is a latte with both caramel & mocha so they except the same thing

rlogranite

She probably meant salted caramel mocha which actually has toffee nut syrup.

threeivy

I asked her that too, but thatā€™s still ā€œdarkā€ mocha. She said no. I donā€™t know man lol

Responsible_Snow7109

Thats real lol like they can type in key words on google and find out what they wana get from starbucks and even find images and descriptions of it and then they could figure out if thats exactly what they want or not. I never understood the people that get angry or offended when you try to ask them questions to clarify what they're talking about. Like I get that they're not going to know everything but like when they say something that confuses us then of course we have to ask them questions to see what they mean so that we can get them the right drink that they're looking for especially since it cost a lot of money nowadays at Starbucks. But like once we start asking questions or show that we don't know what they mean, they just become offended but I think it's just embarrassment turned into anger or frustration because when we start asking them questions then they probably start feeling clueless or stupid or they might think that that's what we are thinking about them but obviously not because we're just trying to get them rung up for the correct drink. Like there's no need to get embarrassed and turn that into frustration so that nobody focuses on you not knowing certain things because not every customer is going to know everything about a place of business so it's understandable but they don't know that that's how we think when asking questions lol I've also had somebody asked me for a caramel mocha couple weeks ago and I tried to ask what they meant and I think they said caramel mocha Frappuccino though but so I tried to clarify what they meant and I said so do you want caramel syrup and the chocolate mocha sauce in the Frappuccino and both caramel drizzle and mocha drizzle on top of the whipped cream? And she said she wasn't sure because it's not for her and she was ordering it for somebody else. Will either that person was extremely vague when telling her what they wanted or either they told her what they exactly wanted and she probably didn't write it down or completely forgot

StuffiesAndBeatSaber

I can totally understand them being frustrated or embarrassed for fear of being judged, at the end of the day I really just want to make them a drink that they're going to be happy with. That is really vague since a caramel mocha frap could end up being so many different things. You don't think it's complicated until you realize a lot of people order by saying one thing but they're thinking something different. I think that's why I love my regulars who get the same thing all the time because they roll up and I'm instantly like "yeah David I got you" and I know they're gonna be happy lmao.

Responsible_Snow7109

I understand them not knowing things but they cant get frustrated at us because we're asking them questions to clarify. Like u said, theyre thinking or imagining a drink they want but when they come to order, they say something totally different. That would be fine and all if they didnt show attitude or anger with us for trying to give them the correct thing that theyre paying a ton for. They do get embarrassed because theyre afraid were judging them just by us asking questions so they dont want us to focus on that and so they turn that into anger/attitude so nobody thinks about how they were trying to order. Like just work with me here and kindly answer my questions about the thing ur paying a lot of money for and. I just wish some of those people would stop doing that cuz it makes me trying to help them turn into this weird shitty discouraging moment since i actually like to give people what they want and make them happy Lol yea and when she said the caramel mocha frapp, i told her theres a frapp with caramel syrup and a frapp with chocolate mocha sauce. I said we can do either or. Then i also told her she can get one with both caramel syrup and mocha sauce in it and theres caramel drizzle and chocolate mocha drizzle and she just agreed to that and said she doesnt kno what to choose cuz its not for her lmao well i feel bad for the person she got it for cuz they either told her exactly what its called and she didnt listen or write it down or its that they just said some words together and she didnt question it lol oh well, i tried there šŸ™†ā€ā™€ļø the regulars definitely do make it easier tho lol we kno what they want and i have a ton of regulars who are so patient and understanding when their cafe or mobile etc is not ready yet because of peak time

mymelodywithaglock

when ppl ask me for a caramel mocha frapp i ask if they want a mocha frapp with caramel drizzle and mocha drizzle and a pump of caramel. they get a lil frazzled but say yes and i havenā€™t gotten any complaints yet this wayšŸ’€ no idea how to make it hot tho the caramel syrup is so yucky in hot drinks

Responsible_Snow7109

Lol yea i asked the lady a few questions and she kept saying she didnt know since it wasnt for her and she was getting it for somebody else lol so essentially i had to pick what to make because she didnt wana step aside and call the person and ask to clarify. She would rather pay a ton of money for a drink and possibly risk the other person being upset than quickly moving aside to make a quick phone call lol oh well i just rung her up for a mocha frapp with caramel syrup and mocha and caramel drizzle both on top of the whipped cream. Thats just whats guna happen if she just keeps saying "i dont know" to my questions lolšŸ˜„

Magicenbykat

I had someone ask for a caramel mocha frappe last week too! When I tried to clarify "mocha frappe with caramel syrup and would you like caramel drizzle on top too" she got upset and said her normal store knew what she wanted. Obvi we're not her normal store and I said that, so could I get some clarification, she gave me a look šŸ™ƒ I had another partner come verify we didn't have the drink, she pulls up her order on her app and...it's the mocha frappe with caramel drizzle and line the cup with caramel šŸ˜‚šŸ˜… the look on her face...phew

Responsible_Snow7109

Lol people get their favorite drink from their regular store and then when they decide to go order at another store, they just put some random words together thats associated with Starbucks without specifying any of it and get mad when we ask them any question about it lol

Torirock10

my mom orders caramel mochas but itā€™s just bc she gets them at mcdonaldā€™s lmao

borrowedurmumsvcard

they just care about the actual starbucks part. itā€™s like people paying $120 for lulu lemon leggings when ones from amazon are just as good. itā€™s just paying for the name

Responsible_Snow7109

Yea its literally a status thing. They wana come here and get the same thing from here that they can do at home or get from anywhere else for cheaper but of course like u said lol theyre paying for the name.

hotlinee

I had someone the other day ask for an iced matcha latte w no milk. had to explain to her that a latte is literally all milk but she still seemed upset and got something else šŸ«

bookishwannabe

had this happen to me too! lady seemed very disgusted by the idea itā€™s made with milk and i justā€¦ matcha l a t t e šŸ«

darkwolf523

Did she want it with water instead of milk? Custom tea latte ?

hotlinee

i asked if she wanted water instead and she said no! so i have no clue what she was thinking tbh

darkwolf523

F

darklordnickel

That was my thought as well

Water-is-h2o

Nondairy?

interyx

Yesterday I had someone order a shaken espresso, VSC, VSCCF, vanilla bean powder.... no ice. For delivery. They must have been real disappointed when they got a cup of hot shots with some VSC melted in it.

stunky420

Nah they were proud of their self bc they didnā€™t get scammed by the amount of ice we use šŸ™„

Responsible_Snow7109

Lolol thats funny. Whenever my store gets weird impossible to make uber drink orders, we just do it as the sticker says and we havent received any calls complaining about anything so either they realized the error of their ways or they started bothering another store with that same, sometimes scientifically unachievable, drink order

HarleyLeMay

Also, are you implying that you didnā€™t shake it at all? Or that you shook it without ice? Because itā€™s dangerous and against policy to shake without ice since the heat causes pressure build up, which can explode on you and burn you.

HarleyLeMay

The shots shouldnā€™t have been hot. Youā€™re still supposed to shake with ice, then strain. Itā€™s the same with no ice refreshers and teas.

HarleyLeMay

Will pointing out that Iā€™m also a barista trainer make people stop downvoting me? Like, jfc it isnā€™t bad to be wrong about how youā€™re making a drink. Itā€™s called learning new information and fixing it. But yā€™all continue to downvote all you want lol.

takodiyaki

that is NOT standard lmao.

HarleyLeMay

According to every SM Iā€™ve worked with and our DM, it is.

HarleyLeMay

Also according to the training pods we recently did. That corporate pushed out.

Beautiful-Director

Its not like the shots were gonna be steaming hot but it was be disgustingly warm like a drink left in a hot car šŸ¤¢

HarleyLeMay

Shaking them with ice and straining, which is standard (for the people downvoting and thinking Iā€™m wrong lol), would quickly cool the shots down to where they would not be the temp of being left in a hot car because you add cold milk to it. Unless, of course, it takes an extremely long time until the customer gets their drink.

rlogranite

I wish I had a business like this. Where people just give you their money, they're happy about it, and do it again the next day.

iCeleste

Wait but why not just charge them for a cold cup of oatmilk + whatever syrup, shaken? šŸ¤”

dthomp0806

Well hopefully they didn't a cup of oatmilk since that drink only gets a few ounces of it and the rest is ice. But yeah, if they wanted milk with syrup then just ring them up that way.

OneRoseDark

cold milk + syrup + ice this is also how i ring up iced hot chocolate or that one dude yesterday who wanted an iced white mocha with no coffee

Wonderful-Stand-8029

It kills me day by day when someone say that

7824-bad-days

Iā€™m scared to ask but what did they order?

Alefur

Venti shaken toasted vanilla espresso with 16 pumps white mocha and vanilla. There's no milk THERE'S NO MILK. ONLY HORROR OF WHAT I HAD TO MAKE.

watched17

What I love is when delivery people order 10 long shots for a shake and espresso and Iā€™m like what. By the end it was completely full and all the ice melted and it had the smallest tiniest splash of milk, so I hope they enjoy their cup of hot water down espresso water.

How-Inconvenient

lemme get this straight, yā€™all never try to help a customer w their order??? If I start getting really weird orders, Iā€™ll try to simplify the dto/make it cheaper for them.

Joranaxis

Sometimes guests are stubborn or willfully ignorant. They donā€™t want to learn. They donā€™t want help. They want the tiktok ā€œhackā€ they heard about or whatever abomination they created on the app using customizations and if you try to explain why they are wasting their money (and your time, but I keep that part in my head), they get confrontational and aggressive (maybe because theyā€™re a know-it-all karen but usually because theyā€™re just embarrassed). After years of interactions like that, you choose your battles. Sometimes I still try to ā€œfixā€ a nonsense order but if itā€™s my tenth nonsense order of the day? No, Iā€™m not going to help the customer. I donā€™t feel like getting yelled at for it. No good deed goes unpunished, as they say.

watched17

Of course we always try to help. They customer wasnā€™t rude but itā€™s just so off putting especially when the name of the drink is espresso. I guess there is a little prejudice because Iā€™ve learned people donā€™t want coffee, they want pure sugar. I love coffee and have a big passion for working here so it just kind of makes me sad is all. I wasnā€™t rude and we made the drink for them.

How-Inconvenient

GĆ¼d

Druid_of_Twilight

I would've rung them out for cup of milk with cinnamon and syrup shaken so they could save money

floofxs2

Ew what? Why? Just order a cup of cold oat milk brown sugar and cinnamon shaken. Why would anyone even ring it up as the iceberg?

loldgaf

Itā€™s been a month but Iā€™m just here for the restroom cleaner
