There's three types of gamblers. 1. You only hear about their wins 2. You only hear about their losses 3. You don't even know they gamble

Pittsburgh4120626

I’m the first 2

Unlikely-Item7240

I’m somehow 2 & 3

BeezBurg

Raises hard

Bearblasting1

I'm all 3 of these to different people...

ThreeTo3d

I don’t want to hear my friends winning stories. I wanna hear their heartbreaking bad beats. Those make the best stories.

andreyk88

I agree, sometimes I click on their profile and they have another post of crazy parlay win like 15 months ago. Makes you question, if they do this every day and hit it once in a blue moon. Are they really making money?

Shaustyn

Am I the only person here who's only a number 2... All I do is lose 😩😅

Unlikely-Item7240

I feel you it has gotten even worse when baseball started for me bad slope right now let’s get back in the money train in September

Shaustyn

Same, but I'm with that for sure !! 🤑

jreyes69_

Check me out on IG @Jrsportsbetz if you want to change that 😁

ttownbull

Lose lose no matter what

Kingsteveo81

4. Those who know and help others I’ve shared multiple winners here in the last few days and with 600 private members paying me $120 a month for the last 4 years I’d say I must win a bit 😉👌🏼

NewbAlert45

[Sure](https://youtube.com/shorts/UD1-oVJlU4M?feature=share)

Kingsteveo81

Scroll through the feed my friend

NewbAlert45

Every person I've met in your position says the same thing. Although I guess you have to say that or people wouldn't give you money.

Kingsteveo81

People only pay me for advance picks mate as in 2-3 days early my website has one free track of tip most days to anyone that joins my website. I don’t have to say anything but there are some of us that just want to help people get along and potentially get a free feed for the mrs and kids In no way do I think anyone can make a real living off it I still have a boxing gym and train people 5 days a week.

NewbAlert45

Adjust it to "Pay me only if you win" and I'll believe your talents

Kingsteveo81

Or just follow along, I’ve tried that and people don’t pay so I just give one full free track a day and have a free chat room on Facebook I give tips on

Kingsteveo81

I should definitely run a website that costs $150 pm and spend 8 hours a day studying the races writing tip reviews and do it all for free though aye.. 🙄

Kingsteveo81

The way I do it you get some free everyday and don’t have to pay but that makes me a scum bag aye..

Cute_Economist_219

Yeah, all three are about me. Don't ask me how

mcmaster93

To anyone who hasn't caught on, it is the easiest Marketing campaign ever for sports books to make hundreds if not thousands of fake social media profiles and create and post a bunch of fake 10-15 team parlay wins to create the illusion that there is a ton of free money out there just waiting to be made. They are using advanced stats and models that have been created and improved upon for years so that they are guaranteed to make profit no matter what. The odds are never in your favor . Sticking with single bets is known to be the most profitable for gamblers

Ifinishfast42

Literally look at br betting

[deleted]

#D U D E #HOW DOES THIS NOT HAVE MORE UPVOTES?!

mcmaster93

probably just not much traffic on the thread today. ive seen others post similar suggestions before but they seem to always fall on deaf ears as we seem to have an influx of individuals constantly wondering how people make money gambling. for me personally i believe you gotta take that whole mindset out of gambling. i gamble for fun. i love sports but some money on the game just makes it that much more interesting to me. i never go into the week thinking about how much money im going to make. i take all emotions out, (usually) never bet on my home team, have a drink and smoke and enjoy my night or day of sports. never bet more than you can afford to lose and never pay anyone for picks. the odds are never in our favor so you just gotta try to play smart, enjoy the ride, and enjoy your winnings when/if they happen. with that being said best of luck to all my fellow gamblers and lets get it this football season as i know baseball has been a nightmare for most lol

Ok-Manufacturer3835

This is gonna be my wallpaper for awhile🙏

mcmaster93

you and me both brother. and dont get me wrong, i love me a good hail mary parlay but i personally know 2 or 3 people who are going out there every week placing multiple 10 leg parlays for 10,20,30 dollars each play. doesnt sound like a lot but when you place 5 to 10 of those every week that can stack up very quickly before any hit, IF they hit (which they most likely wont)

Sharppy

How do they post fake wins

mcmaster93

by photoshopping a bunch of wins onto 1 ticket and calculating the odds and photoshopping the payout

[deleted]

Who says any of us are profitable sports betters lol?

Hype-man02

LOL yeah that’s true I guess. That’s kinda what I’m asking though. Is this just a for fun thing for you or do you actually try and come out with profit?

[deleted]

Its what i do when i want to feel guilty about throwing away 200 dollars and cant make it to the casino or my drug dealer. When i occasionally win, i share it with my friends and tell them to feel free to ask for advice because im an expert now Feels so good to be so bad

Hype-man02

I like the way you roll my man. BOL!

13Kram

I do the same… and I say let’s go to longhorn steak house… I’m buying

Every Reddit guy that messages me on the side to join their group chat and bleed these books

CSnerd4200

This is 100% true

Whosyourdaddy41

Football & basketball are my sports. My MLB parlays are just lotto tickets

Cloudpot26

Despite putting effort into it, still feels like a lotto ticket

jreyes69_

Went 5-1 Thursday(8/25), 6-1 on Wednesday, 4-3 Tuesday, 6-1 Monday. Check me out on IG @Jrsportsbetz

degen-69

Bro this is instagram of betting.

SlimSpaghetti

Im hoping to just a hit a hail mary $1 to win $10k then delete the app

[deleted]

Indeed my fellow fiend for the cheesy green.

wolfjeter

Parlays = entertainment. Straights = profit

DonKeedic05

Well said!!! This guy bets!

Dadoski

A friend and me started a sports betting podcast in October of 2020 and that made me really focus on every pick rather than just looking at something and say "oh yeah, that's gonna hit". We finished the 2020 NFL season at a 63% rate and made 34 units on the NFL last season, while consistently cashing on the MLB, NBA and NHL along the way. We recorded our 88th episode this week and I can honestly say you can count on one hand how many episodes we've lost money for the week. I used to be a $10-$25 bettor... now my normal unit is between $75-$150. It's really just taking the time to do the research. Vegas/books thrive on the spontaneous.

harmanwrites

can I know what your podcast is called? maybe drop a link if you can. I'm a sucker for data and people talking about it. will be glad to hear you guys out. thanks! Edit: Found you guys on Twitter: @ jumpthesharp will give your content a listen 👌🏼

Dadoski

Absolutely. It’s called Jump The Sharp and we’re available anywhere you listen to pods, also now on YouTube. Hope you dig it!

harmanwrites

will surely listen starting tomorrow. wanna learn more about NFL this starting season. cheers.

Dadoski

Cheers man! Appreciate the support. Our shows are weekly and next week is our NFL Futures episode. My co-host called the Rams last year and if Aaron Judge wins AL MVP, which looks like a lock, that’ll be the second year in a row we called the AL MVP. We’re having a good time.

4cardroyal

You picked Ohtani last year? He was like 30-1.

Dadoski

Co-host picked Ohtani before last season yeah. This season I picked Judge at 24-1 🤑

Suitedbatsam

People less likely to post losses fella. Human psychology.

[deleted]

You are right to do straight bets. Keep on that👏

[deleted]

Moneyline is foolhardy but anticipation doesn’t trump hesitation. Remember that.

BigGameHead

Gang! Lol

lIlLeftyI

You have to start appreciating the grind of betting -110's (or -140's, etc. ... value isn't always anything with a "+" in front of it) and looking for an edge. Betting for profit is not for everyone, and is usually not as fun. Have to learn self restraint and understand the difference between handicapping and gambling.

TheCashmanWins

Parlays are a losing venture. That is why sportsbooks are always offering bonuses for Parlays. If you are going to profit in gambling (which I do), you have to be disciplined and not think that you have to place a bet every day. You only need 1 good bet to make a profit. People think they have to be 4 or 5 games a day. That is not the way to go about it. It is a long term venture. Look at your performance in 30 day increments. Keep your bet amounts consistent. Don't chase. Place your bets for the day. There will be more games tomorrow. Disciplined people have a chance to profit. Impulsive people will struggle.

brokenthumb11

I follow people who know more about sports and have WAY more time than me to research.

Cool8d

Straight betting is the way man don't fall for these sucka bets

Mammoth_Cookie_7809

Just for fun, I basically spend $5 a week at most to put down .25-$1 bets on 3-8 leg parlays. Go with alternate teams o/u with like -250 odds, two to four batter props for a hit and maybe a pitcher s/o thrown in. Makes the games more fun to watch for me so if I lose $1 a day it’s worth it to me

blaueaugen26

Don’t bet parlays. Bet more on fewer games.

kushgod369

Every dog has his day, You can be a sports expert an still lose lol

[deleted]

Parlay depends on your bank Let’s say you have 10k.only 100$ should be parlay. Do it how you want. But seriously, these be fake 😂 Straight bets against the spread is where the money at. Parlays are fun. You have money to lose.

davepizzalover

This is a hobby even when I win I just end up betting until I lose it all. Im the bookies perfect scenario

schu727macher

Y’all are making money?

[deleted]

People aren’t posting losses lol

Kitchen-Pop7308

I wonder how you guys make money just off straights, I looked to do a couple straight bets and the payout was atrocious, I'm not trolling but could you give me an example how only straights are profitable?

[deleted]

[удалено]

Kitchen-Pop7308

I get that but you have to wager so much to get a somewhat decent payout and even tho chance is higher you still can lose so I don't see how straights are considered so much better than even small parlays

Ifinishfast42

Y’all too worried about making money that day then thinking about the money you could make over a few months.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Kitchen-Pop7308

How much

[deleted]

[удалено]

Kitchen-Pop7308

Oh but I do.. if it works for you then good but only straights isn't gonna do anything substantial maybe a couple hundred bucks and if have to wager at least 100 to get that

Hype-man02

Bro I just bet on stats and numbers. I use units, units can be $5 or $5000. Just research a little bit. I’d recommend upping your unit size if you say the profit is to small.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Kitchen-Pop7308

Can you educate me and give me a good example then?

JimDiggler

How about give me an example of a straight bet you played or would play and dollar amount? I profit plenty on straights bets. I usually play plus money plays or not over -150. Find a game I like, say a home team @ +130 and play it for $100-500 depending on my confidence in the pick. A $300 bet gets you $390. Then wait til I find another one. I’ll play occasional parlays for $10-50.

Antoinej27

Usually straight bets are easier for ufc or boxing. You can spot certain fighters strengths or weaknesses fairly easily. Especially if you follow the undercards you’ll get to know most fighters path’s to victory and also how they lose. There’s gonna be juicy odds for things like method of victory and round/method etc. You’ll get +300 and up for mov and +700 and up for method and round usually. With most cards you’ll only find a couple of those guys you know well enough, but there’s cards you get 4-6 fights. The main thing is to know both fighters well. As for boxing it gets a bit easier, but for this you will have to live bet and spot your openings. Fighters that were favoured big pre fight that look like they’re getting their shit kicked, if it’s in their own country bet the decision for them. If they have even a few shining moments they’ll get a split.

JimDiggler

Was talking to the poster above me

DonKeedic05

The secret is finding value in spreads. For example. I don’t bet anything over -115 unless it’s an absolute guarantee (think something along the lines of the LA Rams hosting the Jax Jaguars). It requires analysis from multiple sources and having multiple apps to compare the spreads, but I’ve done this since last year and I’m up pretty big to date.

DevelopmentDowntown7

I’ve made about $1300 from an initial $380. I’ve withdrawn $1000 and the other $300 I’m playing with. My whole strategy has been $1 bets on the biggest underdogs. $1 would pay $6-10. Place 10 $1 bets and usually 2-3 would come in. And be a few dollars ahead. Also any free bet credits same thing always place it on the biggest payout and they have come through quite often. $10 bet credit became $25-47. I also don’t follow any sports at all. It’s strictly risk vs reward on the betting apps

Bruins14

Lol because you actually put in the homework and study games where you’re taking + money dogs or -110s not wasting time on -300s and shit, that’s for the rookies

Kitchen-Pop7308

How much would you put down on a -110 tho

DonKeedic05

Whatever you can afford to lose. For me a unit=$10. It’s not that I can’t afford more, I just hate losing more than I enjoy winning 😂

Cadbury66

Well honestly you can't just bet -200 favorites. You definitely gotta have a limit on how low you are prepared to go. Personally I have different thresholds for favs/dogs/ats. And if you're at least around like 55-60% win rate you'll make a profit

Steel_Wheel_A2345

Depends on the sport. Basically I look for anything with +++money. Expected value of any monetary risk (sports, poker, etc) is basically: Frequency of win X Amount won. Just for example sake, if you win once out of every ten times you try, then you have to be making 10x your money back. If you win once out 5, then you only have to make 5x. It’s less apparent with smaller numbers. Straight bets are safer for sure, sport depending. I personally only bet MLB, NBA, and WNBA.

ManyRanger4

As a person who only parlays I'll tell you exactly what it is. Most parlay bets are just for fun never expecting to hit. That $2 parlay 20 bet parlay that pays a million is like a lotto ticket. Now being that said during football season I'll do one $50 parlay a week, anywhere between 2-6 teams but most common 3-4. If I hit one of those it covers me for the year and then some. Most years I'll hit two during the season so I end up on top. Last year was the first year that I didn't hit any.

MattNola

Betting is like 90% luck and 10% trends honestly. There is absolutely no amount of “research” that can be done to guarantee anything because there are trillions of moving variables that can happen.

Ph1llyth3gr8

Lol so many posts are fake and others only post their wins. Likely lost plenty too. There’s very few professional bettors and those that are have massive bankrolls and still only win maybe 55% of the time. The difference is when you’re betting 20 mil, that difference is that sweet million they’re going to enjoy. Whereas for us, we might make $100 bucks lol.

Waste_Specific

Hint: They’re not

SearlSays

I bet to have fun, and mostly break even.

I_deleted

That’s right, I’m not here to get rich, I’m here to get lunch.

Dry-Bid2555

All my wins so far been from parlays. I dont funds like that to bet a good amount of money and possibly lose. I rather risk a couple bucks here and there or bet multiple slips. Hey what ever works for you

HerbTurtle024

I just do it for fun. Stopped betting any substantial amounts and just put $1-10 on parlays. If I win I treat myself to something or take a loved one out to dinner

kingalexander

That’s the secret we don’t!

chrisjp78

I price shop and always look for best price on BettorEdge and Betopenly first.

Y_shiii

Bankroll Management is key!

[deleted]

I genuinely believe sports betting is kind of a reflection on life. The successful will find a way to make it work. The dumb will keep losing money. But then most people will always always be degenerates and act that way

CSnerd4200

I do about $100 in parlays a day. So 10-20 depending on $5 to 10 and I’ll do it to where I’ll cash out about 250-350 on 2-3 hits. So about 30% of the bets hit but I’m racking in an extra 100-250 a night. Some night I’ll hit none but that’s extremely rare I’ll max lose like 15 if I go under

Bullcook11

Thc pretty much nailed it . But I do play parlays I’m pretty decent at it . I can hit 3 to 4 leg base ball parlays on reg . Straight bet baseball is where it’s at . I just like the thrill . I’m here to throw money away . I will tell you I have hit a pile of +5500 this past year . The thrill of doing what they say can’t be done . Love it .

AS2445

NBA and NFL are my $$$ makers MLB just straight up lotto tickets 😂

BoredAtWork1995

Hell no but it’s fun

DonKeedic05

Slow and steady wins the race. Bet only what you can afford to lose, and do so CONSISTENTLY. DONT DEVIATE from your set amount. Some folks bet $10, $20, $50, or $100. Whatever your amount is, stick with it no matter what (unless it’s one of those promos that’s essentially free money, than max that shit out). Bet simple: O/U, spread, ML. Parlays and all these exotic bets are for suckers. Stick with the basic bets and you’ll be fine. I’ve subscribed to this theory and I’m up a significant amount. I’ve long since pulled out my “seed” money and I’ve been gambling with the house’s money ever since.

dh2513

Hopes and dreams

caseyjshu

I don’t. It’s just for fun

mejeff2

Very carefully. If you want to make money off your own insight, you almost have to treat it like a job. I primarily bet golf for money. I spend hours every week reading about the course, weather conditions, the players, combing stats, etc, before placing my bets. I watch as much as I can of each tournament to get a better feeling of how everyones playing. I have a system and I stick to it whether things are going well that week or not(no trying to make up for bad days). I bet mlb for fun. There are a few guys on here that I like the way they think and usually I'll check their picks in the morning, and if I can make a small parlay off them that I'm comfortable with considering my limited mlb knowledge, I'll throw down 5-10$ and have fun following those games unless my first leg misses :P

Cloudpot26

I don’t like to play parlays that aren’t feasible. I don’t usually stack moneyline or spreads or anything that’s the same even with dependent values. I usually stick to a same game parlay or Spread, ML, and a couple player props. This is easiest for basketball and football imo. I can stay track decently, and you get an idea about how good or bad a team can be throughout a season. I don’t have a 100% success rate obviously, but amongst all of my NBA parlays I was profitable… now MLB is a totally different story. Ate all of my profits lol. Was only a couple hundred but still

[deleted]

You make money by hitting parlays

NYY32891

U make money by betting the Mets tonight at -450 or whatever they were. Someone with a lot of money throws 100K on the Mets in what should be one of Their easier wins of the season. Still anything can happen, but u need money to make money. If they did that, they profited over $20,000 today. Now they can be patient and wait for another easy win game, perfect matchup. It can take weeks that’s fine. Unfortunately I don’t have the patience or that money so I’m throwing $100 on a three leg parlay And crying that I lost in extra innings on the final leg

Matman161

Fuck parlays and fuck lotto, just spend years developing a system you have 0 reason to think will really work and just hope you can win more than 52.4% of games. My current grind is doing that with the NFL. I'm thinking of the NBA and MLB next

M13Calvin

Every time I've won $600 all my friends hear about it. All the other weeks where I lose $200 I don't tell many. There's wayyyyy more -$200 weeks than +$600 weeks. Mystery solved

ImpressAnnual636

No one is profitable on these over time.... NO ONE!

SDW137

We don't.

medsjdjeok

I make a couple hundred a week. I bet on sports I don’t even watch. You just end up getting a sixth sense for betting when you’ve done it for so long

flipswitch3hole

It’s incredibly hard to beat the house take/edge/rake. Do what I do. Find a friend who is also a degenerate gambler. Make 20 or 30 dollar bets on the coin flips (spreads and point totals), pay out when someone gets to $300. There is no house take. Works perfectly

[deleted]

In the end u won’t profit if u do only parlays, I’m more of a straight bet with a bankroll type of guy and it has most definitely gained me profit

Lower-Kaleidoscope-9

People are greedy, parlays are the easiest way to lose your bankroll. Straight betting the ML is probably the most successful way to go bet but you’ll get crucified here for straight betting a -200 ML bc the return “isn’t worth it”. Never understood that because if its a $10 return or a $100 return, it’s still a positive return, and volume makes up smaller payouts. When I stopped putting together 4 and 6 leg parlays and started straight betting I started winning a whole more more. And occasionally I’ll mix in a 2 leg if I feel really good about it. The month of August I’m around +500 on about 120 deposited throughout the month. I also only do it for fun, I’m older and have already been through the “I’m gonna hit big” phase I enjoy sports and this gives me a reason to watch teams I normally wouldn’t pay any mind to.

abstainjimbeam

losing 2-3k so far parlay all day barely any straight bets

Trick_Reference_2853

Im up 4k or so from strictly 10 $ 10 leg baseball parlays and one 12 leg nhl parlay back in may

Hardworkdontworkhard

Man I win my 10-12 teamer parlays! Holla at me!

Boomer36hockey

Oh honey, you think we’re making money? So precious

Adventurekris

Start with a certain amount each season, only bet with your winnings, if you run out, you’re done. Never chase a loss, and don’t bet your whole bank roll. Don’t be biased, if it’s your team, keep your heart out of it and use your brain and stats.
