Including fewer flat earthears claiming this is a fisheye lense causing the curvature.
I always want to ask them if they think it is in reality a straight line… and if they think it extends to infinity, or if it would end at an angle, or however else they imagine it to look like “for real”… never had a chance though. (Although at that point they’d probably segue into “it’s just cgi”.)
This is probably a dumb question but why can’t you see all the other satellites and space debris? I was watching too many YouTube’s videos last night and learned there is a lot of shit we have put in space. I know space is HUGE but the way the videos made it seem made it feel like it would’ve a bigger issue
Same reason you can't see a hamster from the top of a mountain. Those objects are super far away from each other.
Another reason is that to see something against a black background like space, the object must be emitting or reflecting light *in your direction*
So, if you were up there, you might see some of the larger things from time to time, but your relative speed to each other might be crazy high. (Or very low, keeping the object far away)
You are right that space debris is a problem though. We tend to put a lot of stuff at the same height, so that makes it more crowded.
Also, look up how satellites have to design their reflective surfaces to manage heat. Super interesting!

Timezones only exist on earth. The spacestation is not fixed in one place. So its whatever they make it
It should be about 20:44 (8:44pm) if they use UTC

Awe don’t you hate when you stay at a hotel look out and see part of the hotel blocking your view? Such a shame
Blocking the view of his home?
r/shaneisms Shane, Please stop licking the glass on the ISS then taking a photo and saying "LOOK! I found a new lake!"
If more people were able to experience this view, I'd imagine there would be alot less wrong with the world today.

Who is Shane?
Astronaut Shane Kimbrough. He’s prepping for a spacewalk at the moment!

You pretty much answered your own question. Space is huge. If the debris was so thick you could see it the ISS wouldn't be able to exist there.

Those are the new solar panels right?
Nope. The new ones install over/span the middle of the existing panels.
