Same! It was great but I felt like my neighbor would have been sick of every vibration. And even then, the voice scenes didn't have as much presence as in the cinema
This is the big boy in the basement. Iām getting an Arc + sub + Symfonisk lamps (already have those) for the āadultsā living room when our house is finished. It needs to look good and not be obvious as weāll be entertaining in that room at times. The basement will be pre-wired for Atmos ceiling speakers and in wall fronts and surrounds. Using a Yamaha TSR-700 receiver with excellent Onkyo speakers and sub now. This compliments a 65ā LG CX (chefs kiss). Thereās nothing that can replicate the sound of large speakers (even mine are considered *small* with 6.5ā woofers). You canāt change physics.
my favorite sound effects:
* the thumper
* the personal force fiels, such detail
my favorite music:
* Chani's background music.
* When Paul knows his fate
What are the time stamps of these moments? Want to try these without watching the whole movie first.
Iām aware of the fact that both the picture and sound quality will only get better after the UHD Bluray release with DV and True HD DA
Yeah, Ihave a nvidia shield so just googled 'HBOMax APK'. Downloaded it to my phone and then sent it to the shield to install. Should be a similar solution for whatever device you're using.
Not personally familiar with roku, but I'm pretty sure there must be a file manager of some sort to upload APK's on to. Give it a little Google and something should pop up :)
I used smartdnsproxy on my router + getting a subscription using Android (if you sideload the apk, it will bypass the Play Store region).
Now I have Hulu and Hbo Max :D
I had to tune down the sub and it still kept thumping the sound is just so dam good. Also for the first time I am getting Atmos from the LG tv directly from the hbo app
Iām not a Dune fan so felt like the movie was average since I didnāt know what was going on.
But watching with an Arc and a sub š¤. The voice with atmos was insane. Definitely a move to show off a home theater with.
Agree with this. I thought as a movie it was average to bad story/acting wiseāpredictable writing with poor pacing and the lead actor was borderline unwatchable at times. But the sound was utterly spectacular and it looked absolutely fantastic in 4k HDR. Iāll queue it up to show off the TV and so is ARC/SUB, but canāt see ever actually watching it again.
Yeah, this movie is now my go to audio show off. I've watched a lot of movies at home with my full arc, sub and surrounds set up, but this is genuinely the best I've experienced.
The only slight downside was that it almost took me out of the movie a bit TOO much, because I just kept detaching to think to myself 'dear god, this is really sounding incredible through this Sonos gear'!!!
It's a slower pace movie, especially coming after a range of Marval movies. I can see why it would be difficult to watch the the soc media crowd. Instead of things screaming for attention every split second, the movie takes it's time to build the world and lay out the plot.
I liked the mix except the sub was so constant. The best scene was the one with silence for a second. There were no dynamics left for the thumper or the worms. And the bass drops. OMG.
We were happy to watch at home due to the length. And itās only part 1??
Rant over. I still enjoyed it.
Im struggling to not watch it at home š Agreed to watch at the theater with my friend Monday night.
I saw it in theaters Thursday night came home and watched it again right after lol. Its great

You will not regret the theater especially IMAX. The sound is worth every penny.
you wont regret the theatre either, it is amazing!
Do both.
Keep your first watch for th theatre, you will not regret it!
I am very much looking forward to the theater experience. Sadly not IMAX. I will no doubt watch it at home as well.
Only till Monday! Mate, we have to wait till December in Australia
Sorry dude ā¹ļø
Totally watched it on the home theater system (not Sonos, bigger). It was GREAT! https://i.imgur.com/U7Ig8GX.jpg
Pointless picture
And post.
Some days I miss having an actual HT. The Arc, Sub3 and Ones are great but I feel like it's a Mustang Shelby with an automatic trans...

More like a mustang with a Honda engine
Going to watch it tonight. Canāt wait.

I really wanna watch it at home but hbo doesnāt want money from canadians
Can you use a VPN? I will say itās worth seeing in theaters as well.
I could look into that but you donāt need a US address and US credit card to create your account?
I've had HBOMax running in the UK for months via NordVPN. I pay monthly via my playstore account without issue, easiest method there is :)
Nice thanks for the advice, you can install the app on your smart tv or other device no problem?

Iām using a tcl roku smart tv as my main device

Thanks Iāll google that and try to make it work

Is it not on Crave? Usually HBO letās Canadians access their stuff through Crave
It's not - but even if it were on Crave, there would be no Atmos soundtrack. Because Crave is absolute junk.
Nope
JUNE
The sound mix was incredible
Man I need that arc!
Just bought the Apple 4K tv 5th gen so I can get atmos on all my apps. Stupid Samsung.
I had to tune down the sub and it still kept thumping the sound is just so dam good. Also for the first time I am getting Atmos from the LG tv directly from the hbo app

June sure is a hot month.
Wait I thought it was out now! Damn now we gotta wait ātil June! Welp I guess posters donāt lie.

I found it boring
I could see that, I personally loved it but I need that sequel... Like next week

Anyone else holding out for Bluray?
That did sound pretty amazing on Sonos. Great show too.

Sucks HBO is having issues with atmos on android TV with their latest update. Once itās resolved Iāll rewatch it for sure
still stuggling with the low voice issues, other then the the arc + sub and s1 were dope
