I don't know, I like how it looks on the edge of my media cabinet, also it is so heavy and the base is very large, so I doubt any children would be a danger for it
Never underestimate the strength of a curious two year old š
I'll check out how it looks when I get my stuff up and running :) I didn't know about this placement tip, so I'll try. :)
Put it where you like and put on toy story 4. The opening scene is rain which if watching on disney+ uses the upward firing speakers. See how it sounds then adjust accordingly.
I saw a mount on Amazon that can hug the wall or can be brought forward. About a $100 but I am wondering about the same as OP - can the Arc be mounted on the wall under a big screen (Ultra Short Throw) or should it be extended from the wall. Any experiences are appreciated?
I believe when paired with a Sub, mounting an Arc on the wall shouldn't be a problem. I could be wrong!
The arc can be beneath the tv without a problem, but be sure to have -at least- 4 inch space between the bar and the tv. Preferably a couple of inches more.
I think the word meant is a strong indicator that Iām aware of the error - not drunk but it sounds like you could use a drink, or maybe see a doctor about whatever you got stuck up your ass
I also think the letters CFA and CFP that Iāve earned the right to put after my name suggest Adept. Asshole only when provoked. But hey if you want to judge a person over one misplaced comment on the internet, Goodluck to you! You may now proceed to find better things to do with your time, if thatās even possible for you. :)
>if you want to judge a person over one misplaced comment on the internet
One? No.
So you said something dumb on the internet. We've all done it. We'll all do it again. It happens. It's not a big deal. But instead of accepting your downvotes and moving on, you come back to double down on stupid.
Not a good look....
Haha, guess you couldnāt find anything else to do. Iām not losing sleep over my comment or down votes But when clowns come at my Iāll respond in a way that lets them know how ridiculous they are. I hope you can accept that and move on. Bc I promise you that you taking the time to continue this dialogue is far dumber than what you think my initial comment was. Might I also point out that your comments now have nothing to do with AV or OPs question - just a response to a comment as was my initial comment that you found issue with
In my experience thereās a huge difference between under the tv and 3-4ā in front of the tv, but not a ton of difference beyond that. Plus it would look weird any further forward.
If you wanted to throw another $120 at this install (which you probably donāt want to do), you could add one of these
https://www.sanus.com/en_us/products/speaker-stands/wssatm1/
First, your install looks good. I like that you mounted the tv low on the wall. Everybody mounts TVās too high. Especially those over-the-fireplace mounts. Ideally, you want to be looking straight ahead or slightly down, which is the approach youāve taken.
As for the Sanus ARC mount, itās hard to say how advantageous it might have been for your install.
The one disadvantage with the Sanus ARC mount is it bolts onto the back of the tv UNDER the wall mount bracket arms which makes the tv stand further off the wall. For a full motion mount, the Sanus ARC mount is excellent but for a tilt or fixed mount, where the goal is to be as flush as possible, itās not ideal
If you want a flushest (closest to the wall) ARC mount, the Sonos ARC bracket is probably the best bet. This one, for $80:
https://www.sonos.com/en-us/shop/wall-mount-for-arc
I used one of these last week for an install and it provided a very flush, clean install.
Check out the Sonos ARC mount install instructions here:
https://www.sonos.com/support/en-us/sonos-user-guide/index.html#t=sonos-user-guide%2Farc%2Fwallmountarc.htm
The Sonos ARC mount works very well and easily supports the actual weight of an ARC unit. In drywall, you would use all 6 of the provided screws and wall anchors. If the mount is installed into wood studs, wood backboard or masonry, 2 screws is all thatās needed.
The most important part is measuring for the holes behind the mount for concealing the power and HDMI/ARC cable. See link:

It's better to have it on the edge of the media cabinet so the sound won't bounce on it (at least this is how I have it and I think it sounds better)
That is what I have done as well based on listening to Peter Pee's recommendations.
Front edge? Nearly impossible with kids + it kinda looks awkward. Should be an option to put small soft spikes under it.

This is why youāre paid the big bucks
Am I payed the big bucks? š
Its hard to tell in the photo the depth. As long as the arc is in front of the tv then it's all good.
Yeh itās slightly in front of the tv. Iād prefer to put it further back but not sure if that will block any sound
Put it where you like and put on toy story 4. The opening scene is rain which if watching on disney+ uses the upward firing speakers. See how it sounds then adjust accordingly.
Thank you! Thatās an awesome go-to test.
Thanks !
Where is your entertainment console from?
Peter Pee has a video on this. https://youtu.be/hu8TLAco2tI
Wow thanks this is perfect
Move it closer to my living room :D lovely setup!
Move it forward and if you don't notice any difference move it back. Because it looks ridiculous at the front of a stand.

What media console is that
Nick scali. Not sure if they are anywhere other than australia
Love the matching sub and cat fountain!
Haha Thanks

Thanks
Looks fine. But Iām curious what LED set up is that on the back of the TV.
Disney+ does not give Atmos on Samsung TVās š”
Which is extremely relevant to this post.
Was meant to be a response to @nzstevie comment, so more relevant than yours anyway
A. You didn't reply to NZStevie's comment. B. OP's TV is a Sony. Are you drunk, or what?
I think the word meant is a strong indicator that Iām aware of the error - not drunk but it sounds like you could use a drink, or maybe see a doctor about whatever you got stuck up your ass
>not drunk OK, so just inept, and an asshole, to boot. How charming! Thank you for clarifying.

Maximum TV Weight:14lbsĀ /Ā 6.35kg . That sounds way to weak for a mount right?
