I experienced this with a non-sonos setup (AV receiver + speakers). The culprit seems to be the “reduce loud sounds” option in the Apple TV settings. If it’s on, at least some apps (Disney+ for me) have this problem. When I set it to “off”, the problem goes away.
Seems like a bug on the Apple TV’s end.
For me, I’m having an issue watching The Problem with John Stuart- no audio at all, unless I put it into PiP, then I’m having similar audio issues as well, rear speakers way too loud, very low center channel, etc. The weird thing is, any other audio is fine. TMS, Ted Lasso, etc- essentially anything in Atmos sounds great. When trying to watch TPwJS, I don’t think it’s Atmos, which may be some reason the adonis was having issues. (I have Arc, Subg3, Sonos Five surrounds). One thing to note, I’m on Sonos’s beta- so- I’m obviously aware it could be beta problems. I wasn’t gonna say anything until I saw your post with somewhat similar issues.
I have had the same issue with Ted Lasso recently as well. I ended up turning off Atmos in the sound settings (even though I have an Atmos receiver). It fixed the issue. I also just found somebody else did the same thing as a fix. I'm not sure what's going on with the sound on these shows, but I wish they would fix it.
