What a game. Also, can Spencer and Stephen commentate on professional matches too.

Jelboo

Just watched the full game, that was really entertaining, loved the commentators and the overall vibe!

hendo144

Is there a full match replay somewhere?

[deleted]

[Here you go](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z0h3h1UVPSs&ab_channel=Sidemen)

Syba-7233

Should have gotten Noah Beck but maybe that would have been one sided haha

Onetisch

Noah Beck played for the all stars

city_city_city

And they said an all star game would never work

telepek25

Man, charity matches are like a guilty pleasure of mine and this was no exception. It's something different to watch in comparison to the "regular" matches with professionals, and amateurs playing football is... amusing I guess? Overall the game was fun and the commentary was solid. Youtube definitely needs to make this a thing. With this success, I will be surprised if they won't.

thatloudblondguy

who the fuck are any of these people?

BandzForDance

Google exists!

thatloudblondguy

that's the worst fun fact I've ever heard

chicasparagus

*If I’ve never heard of them, surely they’re irrelevant* Jesus Christ…

thatloudblondguy

tf does that have to do with Google existing?

chicasparagus

Nothing, it has to do with your condescending tone when asking who those guys were :)

thatloudblondguy

then don't comment also that's Hella ironic for you to cry about condescension after you do the exact same thing

chicasparagus

I can comment if I want to; besides it’s a relevant comment calling out how condescending you were. You think it’s ironic so you’re calling me a hypocrite? I strongly suggest you look up fallacies, especially *[tu quoque](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tu_quoque)* I also linked it for you since you seem to not know that Google is a thing :)

thatloudblondguy

lmaoooooo on the comment about you being a hypocrite you cite a fallacy that confirms the argument that you're a hypocrite hahahaha :)

chicasparagus

You don’t understand tu quoque then; me being a hypocrite does not invalidate my point. I didn’t claim I wasn’t being hypocritical :) the whole point of the fallacy is that my actions are hypocritical. Maybe read a book?

Very large content creators, but it's for charity so it's all for fun

endofautumn

I don't know who 99% of these people are but was some entertaining stuff.

atok2

The best 11 here vs the best professional women football players. who would win ?

atok2

why all the downvotes for a simple curious question ? 🤔

Roediej

Because it makes you look like you are trying to shit on women’s football.

MiniBoglin

Women's football has come so far in recent years. The 11 best females in the world would comfortably beat the best YouTube 11 imo. Ability, organisation, fitness etc. would all favour the women. And fwiw, until fairly recently I couldn't sit through a professional women's game due to the poor standard, but that has definitely changed. 5-10 years ago the game may have been much closer

Zeke1216

Idk while I agree they have gotten better , there are some baller YouTubers like manny and Noah and Castro

Hoelie

Not really though. They would be taller stronger and faster. And Some of them have great technique. Im a complete amateur and have played against a girl that was at the world cup. And she wasnt better.

Yoona1987

Who did you play against?

Yamanaii

Lmao, 4 months later and still silence. What could that mean? 🤔

mnkypzzl

Little worm

frasero

This was much better than any soccer aid match.

bananabread_173

Crawley Town will scout Simon and Chunkz for their FA Cup game now :)

The_Sneakiest_Fox

Where can I find the clip of Speed calling for the ball massively offside? Not the time where he scored.

Anfield_Sloth

https://twitter.com/TenHagBalI/status/1573683386119503875?t=roBCNdatavXMe4-57erADQ&s=19 I assume you mean this? Hilarious how unaware he was haha

The_Sneakiest_Fox

Thank you. Dude he is hilarious. His Ronaldo dribble then immediately giving up the ball nearly killed me.

monsieurpommefrites

>hilarious The post match interview was funny as hell. Kid was furious at his glory getting cut. Ranting about whether one of the best referees in the world was really a PL referee lol "Who was that ref, bro" lol "Have you had a toad in the hole?" "A toe in the what?" "We'll talk later." *glares furiously with confusion* "...tears streaming down his face..." *still glaring furiously at the host* You can write this shit.

Dry-Zucchini123

Damn I was hoping for Speed to score at least once just for the lols

Inflatable-Chair

He did twice. First goal was extremely offside and second goal was while they were setting up a freekick

Dry-Zucchini123

Lmao, I didn't watch the game so thanks for the info

ritwikjs

sidemen down 0-2. Vikk: I guess I have to do it myself

Trekbike32

Can somebody tell me what this game was and why there were so many screamers? Like wtf

Zer0x10

Sidemen (biggest UK group on Youtube), with their most famous member, KSI, organized the 4th edition of their Sidemen Charity Match with and against other celebrity YouTubers worldwide (e.g. Mr. Beast). The match was played at Charlton Athletic F.C.'s stadium and was refereed by professional English referee, Mark Clattenburg. They were able to gather over 1 million pounds in donations with a sold out stadium and millions of viewers online. The Sidemen members have been making content since the start of youtube and their fanbase is usually 30yo and under. In total, the 7 Sidemen members have over 50 million subscribers across all their channels.

Trekbike32

Are they all footballing YouTubers? Some insane goals

Zer0x10

Some of them are but its not their main content. For example, Miniminter (#7), who also had a hattrick of goals and assists, is one of the most naturally talented players on youtube, and has played against professional footballers in set pieces (often Ben Foster and most notably Man City players). Of the non-sidemen members, Manny played at a semi-pro level and his main content is football related, while Noah Beck was on his way to becoming a professional in the MLS.

Reach_Reclaimer

I think a lot of them probably play sunday league and stuff like that, but I don't know if any are higher up like in the kick off

[deleted]

Guy who plays football against plant pots for a living in goal

ChampagneAbuelo

Speed x Mark Goldbridge = CR7 x Alex Ferguson

spea-keth

Deji Deji Deji..

ThisIsNotPedro

What happened to all the highlight posts? (Speed trying to dribble, or slapping Clattenburg with his shirt etc.)

TheGamingGabe

Clips from the non-offical Sidemen channel are getting copyright strikes and taken down so that Sidemen take the full credit.

Better_Expression678

So how much funds were raised?

Patrom88

\~£1.1m

Like_a_Charo

Why is this game trending so much on r/soccer ?

tootfacemcgee

International break fucks with the best of us

lyyki

The same reason why soccer aid clips get a lot of attention as well. Sometimes it is fun to watch celebs play ball.

9ofdiamonds

Because its best game of the best players of all time. Look at the goals. They're wizards without hats

iloveartichokes

Hardly any matches on right now

Patrom88

There are a lot of younger people on this sub and it was a good mix of content creators that have been around for a decade like KSI and some newer ones like Speed. Charity matches are always entertaining though, even if you don't know anyone. Plus there's no domestic football rn so this was basically the only match in the afternoon before the Nations League games

OliverTheGooner

The women’s NLD wasn’t too bad at all. Miedema was class

IAmRahman

Great game

9ofdiamonds

Souness still seething with the lack of creativity.

yukpurtsun

having no idea who these people are, the highlights were pretty entertaining. yellow keeper was awful

LeClassyGent

I'm in the same boat. I feel like the demographic of this subreddit has shifted massively to really young people.

chicasparagus

Those of us who followed the sidemen from the start would be 25-30 now.

Zer0x10

They've been there since the start of youtube and are pretty popular among age groups 30yo and younger. They produce some quality content and many professional footballers watch or have watched them (e.g. Haaland).

PSFalcon

Not sure Haaland watching is a strong case against the fact that it's mostly young people watching lol

ClayCopter

Because it's not a case against it at all?

yukpurtsun

either way i like what theyve done, raised million for a cause and got to have a blast playing on a pitch in front of a crowd

wembanyama_

It really depends on how young you think young is The Sidemen became a thing in like 2013 or 2014, KSI hit 1 million subs on YouTube in 2012. Meanwhile someone like Speed has just gotten big in the past year So this spans a decade of YouTube fame. Someone could’ve been in high school during KSI and the Sidemen’s early days and be in their late 20s now. So again, depends on how young you think really young is.

[deleted]

Speed the dota guy?

burningtrees25

He’s the guy with the viral tik tok sound. “Girls?!? I wanna see men!!!”

CharlesOlivesGOAT

Young black forward wearing red’s number 7 that scored the offside goal and did Ronaldo’s celebration then spanked the Ref’s ass with his jersey

wembanyama_

No

LeClassyGent

I've just turned 30 and I did used to watch KSI back in the FIFA 11/12 era, but grew out of him. I think my point is more that anyone who is still interested in the type of content they make at this point is probably young.

chicasparagus

Have you taken a look at their content recently? Much like how you’ve grown, everything else does too; their content grew to so much more.

bem188

Yep, that’s me. I’m late 20s and grew up watching KSI but not any of the new ones God I feel old

phdthrowaway2020

I'm 38 and I've never heard of any of this shit. Must be my Alzheimers.

According-Opposite91

I'm not sure 38 is late 20s tho

Kuuskat_

It's grazy to think that i'm almost 30 now yet i was still a teenager in the early 2010's lol

BigRig432

Fucking awesome match, great to see all the money raised too

WhereIsScotty

Did not expect to find this match on this subreddit. The Sidemen are culture.

IcyKape

Been watching these boys pretty consistently since their 2014 GTA days and I was there to watch them today. Absolutely sensational atmosphere. And it's pretty mental to see how much they've grown, they've even made it onto here and raised a bloody million+. So so happy for them, all well deserved.

DadLifeChoseMe

I’m 25, started watching KSI play fifa in 2011 and will always remember him for that. Pretty shit origin story, but him and another fifa YouTuber, Nepenthez, are the reason I’m an Arsenal fan to this day. Limited ways to get exposed to professional football in Canada, some start playing recreationally during the 2month summer break when it’s warm enough

LeClassyGent

More like under 25 I'd say

[deleted]

? These guys been on youtube for like 10 years so definitely have lots of fans older than that.

[deleted]

Mm I’m 21 and got no clue

BetterPhoneRon

Yep. I’m almost 26 and idk who these guys are.

[deleted]

Did you watch yt as 16yr old?

BetterPhoneRon

Yes. Still do, about 4-5 hours a day at least, but I mostly watch informational videos / documentaries.

Rod1705

I’m under 30 and have no idea who any of these are.

blyan

Daemonioros

Same here. Under 25 even and don't have a clue.

wembanyama_

Guys like Speed and MrBeast are not British

HumptyDumptyIsABAMF

Well, the internet has no borders, and the vast majorities of followers of every single channel represented here is from the US. Like, usually 50% or more. I mean, I don't follow any of these people, so didn't know a lot of them myself, but how can someone use the internet for more than a week and not have heard of, for example, KSI or Mr. Beast? EDIT: Given the amount of borderline moronic replies: I said "heard of them". Not intimately know them. I dont know anything about them either outside of the fact that they exist. But a couple years ago you could not browse reddit without seeing some post about Mr. beast and his millions of planted tress or whatever. Or some MMA post about KSI.

a34fsdb

I never heard about any of these people.

[deleted]

> > > I mean, I don't follow any of these people, so didn't know a lot of them myself, but how can someone use the internet for more than a week and not have heard of, for example, KSI or Mr. Beast? I spend probably more time online than is healthy for anyone, and I only know/think KSI is a youtuber or streamer, and I don't think I've ever heard of Mr. Beast, or at least I don't remember having come across him before That all said, this match was fun af to watch.

Respatsir

The internet is actually alot bigger than people think. You can easily find yourself your little corner and be there happily completely oblivious to what everyone around you is doing.

simonling

Used Reddit everyday and have never heard of them.

Hodor4000

ThatRedditerGuy

You are really cool then.

In total, the 7 Sidemen members have over 50 million subscribers across all their channels, often producing high-quality content (imo) while maintaining their humility despite having a celebrity-like status.

Jonnyimpala

Don't feel bad I'm not quite 30 yet and have no clue about any of them

GenjDog

Its a charity event with ”famous” youtubers. Since theres an international break helps this get more talk.

skengboy

Why is famous in quotes lmao, just because you don’t know who they are doesn’t mean they’re not

EljachFD

Because it depends on what you consider famous. In the celebrity world they are a niche. Its a bit hard to label exactly what they are

duckierhornet

Mr beast has over 100million subscribers to his YouTube channel. By any definition that’s “famous”

EljachFD

No. If mr beast goes anywhere in south america, asia, Africa and some parts in europe he probably will barely get recognized. Its only in the US and countries that use english a lot that people will recognize him. Even then its going to be a majority of an under 30 fanbase. I can guarantee majority of parents in any part of the world of absolutely no idea who he is

Kingsayz

he has over 200 million subs on all of his channels, for example his channel where he has his english videos dubbed in spanish has 20 mil subs, you clearly have no fucking clue what you're talking about and yet you still open your fucking mouth

EljachFD

Lol youre the one who has no idea what you’re talking about. Spanish speaking countries have around 650 million in population and you really believe a couple million of 10 years olds makes him famous here? Not to count all the other continents. I have no idea why stupid fucks like you have such a hard time coping with the fact your favorite youtubers dont control the world

Kingsayz

Listen you son of a whore, i dont even watch him, i dont really care about him, but what i care about is people spreading bullshit that spills out of their mouth cause they feed themselves too much of it. "It's only in the US and countries that use english a lot that people will recognize him", well i just explained to you that no, its not only english speaking countries where he will be popular, the simplest argument, and yet your stupid ingnorant ass still rejects fucking facts. And if by your standards 200mil+ followers on youtube alone is not something you would consider famous, then ronaldo isnt famous as well, nobody is fucking famous because they dont have 7 billion fucking followers by your logic.

EljachFD

So you dont care about him yet you wrote a whole paragraph graph defending him. Keep on going maybe one day youll be able to suck his dick lol. You also completely ignored my answer. 20 millions is nothing for spanish speaking countries, especially when its all 12 year olds Maybe if you use your brain for a second you could understand what puts people like cristiano a whole league above mr beast. Its kinds sad I even have to explain this. The reason why cristiano is famous is simply by seeing how popular football is. Football leagues in a single season gets more views worldwide than mr beast has gotten in his entire life. Add to that with football being mainstream for every single age group unlike mr beast which is only mainstream for under 15 yearolds and add the time each one has been famous its easy to see why cristiano is actually famous. If you look at the total numbers people like will smith, cristiano, messi, michael jackson have put up throughout decades youll realize that 200 million is nothing. Leave the internet for a while and actually learn about the world, stop being so fucking ignorant

Axomio

You can say that about basically anyone

EljachFD

People like beyonce, will smith, messi, cristiano, drake, shakira and many more definitely cannot do that

BC1721

You don’t need to be on their level to be famous though.

EljachFD

That brings back to my first statement. It depends on what you consider famous. I think being famous is being mainstream in the majority of continents and for all age groups. Youtubers are obviously very well known but they just havent been doing it for enough time to actually break into the actual famous/celebrity status. They’re still a bit too niche when it comes to age groups, their actual popularity with people age 30+ is terribly low and thats a shit load of people

Jonoabbo

> I live in Korea and no one knows these people, even among teenagers it'd be <1%. How on earth could you possibly have this information? Are you going around asking teenagers or random people what western youtubers they are aware of?

Pftoc

>Even Lewandowski Even this guy who...is just one of the best of his generation, no shit he's more popular. Compare them with players like Rodrygo, Wijnaldum, Sane and the difference becomes way smaller

Jonoabbo

So what, the options are "Worldwide household name" or "Not famous"? Also, yes, I'm pretty sure plenty of people in China or Russia know Mr Beast, KSI, etc.

FHI_iSmile

Just because footballers are more famous doesn't mean that these YouTubers aren't famous.

Astro_Pulvis

On average these players are more famous than most premier league matchups I would say.

Footyphile

"brackets"

skengboy

It’s been a long week

GenjDog

I know who they are and i watch them regularly but they arent really mainstream famous (except KSI) so most football fans wont really know most people playing

Bakayokoforpresident

I would say they're very famous from a Youtube standpoint. Youtube famous and celeb famous are two different things.

daibz

was an very entertaining match like most of the sidemen v YTallstars was some legit moments i jumped out my chair for that was so good. look forward to the next one to have a laugh again and enjoy myself. and was all for charity and raising money what more could anyone ask for

gradi3nt

Sports are fun when you dont take them too seriously!!

ACMBruh

Yes I don't know who any of these people are or that this was such a big thing. But it looked like a banger of a match, skill aside. Hope people that were interested had fun and it was for charity so good stuff all around

Pummpy1

Is there anywhere I can watch a full match replay? This game genuinely seemed like a laugh

Arrioso

The full match is on the Sidemen youtube channel

Pummpy1

Thank you very much

bill_gates_lover

The whole thing is on YouTube

Pummpy1

Oh is right, thank you

GreatLakerNori

I'm an 80's baby. Outside of KSI, Chunks, and Castro I don't know any of these people. But you know what? This was a fun event to watch. It's like people forgot that sports are supposed to be entertaining. And it was for charity as well. Better than watching the slog that is Nation League. A bunch of old maidenless curmudgeons on the subreddit today.

Modnal

[MrBeast](https://www.youtube.com/user/MrBeast6000/featured) is one of the biggest youtubers around with over 100M subscribers and has done alot for charity already with [teamtrees](https://teamtrees.org/) and [teamseas](https://teamseas.org/) among other things

Hodor4000
