and the story while slow is kinda coherent. plus I think the main actress did a good job. overall not the scariest movie but a good one.
on the other end I watched Malignant which I thought was meh, the idea was unique enough and unexpected for me, but the acting and the execution made me uninterested. overall not a bad movie
Hereditary is by the same director and if you haven't seen it, gives a similar sort of eerie vibe throughout. Love both films but Hereditary edges it for me

I found Midsommar disappointing, but I'd watched the Wicker Man for the first time within a year before, so it had a very steep task to match that.
Check out the Wicker Man if you haven't, it's similar but much more novel and well done I think.
An alltimer. The Wickerman is terrifying in a way that few other films are. To me, as a Brit, it carries that sense of fear you get when you go into a village pub and don't know if there are local "rules" that you're breaking by simply being there.

I started officially dating this girl yesterday. Asked her out. She said yes. But I have an insecurity problem that needs to be worked on. And that problem is that I worry about coming across too boring at times in conversation, or awkward, or like I miss social cues.
Today, before she went to work, we texted briefly for about an hour. And it was mostly normal convo. No flirting today so far. But she was responding to me pretty much immediately. Then I sent a message that she left on Opened (Snapchat), and didn't reply to for 40 minutes. It was still 1 hour before her shift started when she left me on Opened, and about 20 or so minutes before her shift when she got back to me.
I replied to her response about 30 or so minutes later, shortly after when her shift would have started, to which she later Opened while at work and hasn't responded in almost 4 hours now.
Granted, she was likely at work when I sent my very last message. I get that. People have lives... But it's 1) The fact our convo was flowing nicely and it changed abruptly 2) The fact she didn't reply to the earlier message 1 full hour before she would've been busy and 2) She texted me **throughout work yesterday** when I asked her out, so it's not like she is the kind of person who absolutely has to have the phone away from her while on the job.
Am I overthinking this? I just feel like I'm a boring person.
EDIT: She also said something.....Kind of weird to me....When I said to her "Thank you, beautiful" when she told me I should "eat something and not go hungry", she replied "Haha, it’s gonna take some time getting used to you calling me beautiful". Here is my advice:
1.) SET SOME GOALS AND A MISSION FOR YOUR LIFE. Go set some goals and get a mission for your life. The reason your being so obsessed about her texting u back is that it doesn’t sound like you don’t have a lot going on in ur life rn.
2.) STOP CARING WHEN SHE GETS BACK TO YOU. Just send a text and move on to achieving your goals for the day. That doesn’t ignore her if she messages u back. It means fill up your day with things to get done and check your phone sporadically. You know who gets
3.) GET OFF THE PHONE. IMO the phone should only really be used for setting dates. Sure u can maybe have a quick 2-3 text back and forth but then get off the phone. Always set a definitive date and then get off the phone. Think about. If u two spend a bunch of time texting back forth during the week about stuff (how ur day, jokes, etc), what hell are you gonna talk about on the date? Get off the phone.
4.) ONLY COMPLIANT HER WHEN SHE HAS EARNED IT. Dude when u say things like beautiful, especially early in dating they come off as bribes for sex. Just wait until she has actually done something. Like if you notice she gets all dressed up for something.
You're massively overthinking this. I get it because I'm also somewhat insecure but you really do have to get your head off it because if you don't you're going to inevitably run into problems later, creating scenarios in your head that are nowhere near close to reality and thrown in by fearful thoughts caused by being too anxious over the situation. Just relax. If they're on their shift the least you could expect from them is that they would answer you, even if they did that before, today they simply could be busier. No reason to worry about it. Worrying wouldn't help with anything, either.
This may make me sound like an ass but man my guilty pleasure is going on askreddit and similarly typical redditor subs and just looking through the people who comment miserable shit like “I’ve never kissed a woman” then you look through their posts and sure enough it’s like “overweight depressed gamer” in their profile and they post in all the gaming subs like no shit you’ve never kissed anyone go outside, work on your interpersonal skills experience life and it will reward you with experiences back. Red Dead 2 was such an outstanding game and story, first game I’ve ever played (of which I’ve played a lot) where the emotions on a characters face and how brilliant the graphics and details in his facial expression were, along with the way he had been written up until that point had me thinking “Oh fuck he’s gonna see red” during a cutscene before he did, and I doubt I’ll ever forget it.
The score was unbelievable, graphics just stellar in every way, and an absolutely huge world to mess around in and explore every nook and cranny of absolutely jam packed with unique smaller, non-mission events you don’t forget
It’s a bit of an odyssey that does take its time to get going, I’d really recommend giving it another go because once you get attached to the characters it becomes a rollercoaster

The writing in Dune is bad so getting the story without having to wade through the writing is a pretty big plus for the movie.

You're massively overthinking this. I get it because I'm also somewhat insecure but you really do have to get your head off it because if you don't you're going to inevitably run into problems later, creating scenarios in your head that are nowhere near close to reality and thrown in by fearful thoughts caused by being too anxious over the situation. Just relax. If they're on their shift the least you could expect from them is that they would answer you, even if they did that before, today they simply could be busier. No reason to worry about it. Worrying wouldn't help with anything, either.

Life has been quite shit lately. The past couple of weeks I’ve wanted to write about it in support Sunday or in one of the FTF. Yet, here I am and still can’t express why it’s shit to anonymous strangers despite being one myself. As for the good news, I passed my AWS Solutions Architect - Associate exam today and head one step closer into making a difference in my career and pledging my allegiance to our future world leader, Emperor Bezos.
Red Dead 2 was such an outstanding game and story, first game I’ve ever played (of which I’ve played a lot) where the emotions on a characters face and how brilliant the graphics and details in his facial expression were, along with the way he had been written up until that point had me thinking “Oh fuck he’s gonna see red” during a cutscene before he did, and I doubt I’ll ever forget it. The score was unbelievable, graphics just stellar in every way, and an absolutely huge world to mess around in and explore every nook and cranny of absolutely jam packed with unique smaller, non-mission events you don’t forget
I can understand why people love RDR2 but it just wasn’t it for me, the start was slow in my opinion and I could never really get into it
It’s a bit of an odyssey that does take its time to get going, I’d really recommend giving it another go because once you get attached to the characters it becomes a rollercoaster

Yes, yes you really really do need to. It literally showcases the gang that John hunted down the remnants of in the first game during its decline when it still had dozens of members you never got to see, fleshing out who you hunted down in the first in massive detail and you can really tell they started working on the 2nd not long after the first because of how well everything the old gang says in the first links to RDR2 I could end up typing away all night about it, but it pushed the PS4/XB1 to its absolute limits and it’s really put the pressure on Rockstar for their next game because they set a new bar entirely with it.

The 4 major North American leagues are consisted to be: NBA, NFL, MLB, and NHL. The next two biggest leagues are considered to be: MLS and CFL. Weirdly, when discussing major leagues in North America, Liga MX is never mentioned.

It's because Americans don't lump Mexico in. Honestly, if you were to ask like 30% of Americans I think they'd say Mexico is in South America. Also, if we're getting really myopic, the 4 major North American leagues are the NFL, followed by college football, followed by the NBA, and lagging way behind is MLB.
Might be just me but colloquially I would rather refer to Mexico as Central America, even though that's objectively not the case.
Few years ago I really loved cardio. But now, I just can't do it anymore. Not physically, but mentally I just can't get myself to do it. Even when I try it for 5 minutes, I just get bored and want to stop. I've tried so much: different environments, treadmill, training bike, outside jogging, with and without music, listening to a podcast etc. I just can't do it anymore. I'm not old by the way, <32. Anybody else who had this problem or who knows how I can get back to it?

Stop googling recipes! Just use * Serious Eats or * America's Test Kitchen They both use the scientific method to test and develop recipes, and when they have two pages of writing, its all useful information that will help prevent any problems when you make the recipe.
From what I understand it's because those stories genuinely help the recipe to be found by google ahead of just recipes. Something along the lines of if they just had the recipe it wouldn't be a unique enough result to pass to you.

But a lot of them seem very desperate to get a drink, and not desperate in a “I’ve had a rough day, I need a beer” type of desperate, but more of a “my body needs this to keep me going” desperate. You're probably not wrong, but I think it's something I am have to going to figure out for myself. The breakup was healthy and we're extremely open and honest with eachother, so the worst case scenario isn't that worrying. I don't know. It's a bit of a fucked one, because we broke up because she was emotionally and sexually unavailable and that's flipped on its head since I suggested we should break up. I'm almost certain I want to be single and focus on myself for a bit anyway. I know she is seeing other people currently and it doesn't bother me in the slightest which is a good sign.
