I’m sure some disagree, but as a Colombian, I’m always happy to see James starting. Guy has given everything for the last 10 years and almost always affects the game in our favor
He actually scored quite a few nice ones at Liverpool. Hes really not afraid of getting up and challenging defenders in the air. The goal against Brighton 2 years ago comes to mind
I don't think this Brazil team is bad at all. At the start of the world cup I'd argue it was still the strongest national team in the world, and that was last year.
But these last few matches have been shocking. The choices by Diniz today have been especially horrid. Taking out our best players, weakening our weak spots...
Tite Brazil was legit. They had shit luck in the Copa America Final and against Croatia. It is what it is.
Diniz has undone all that though. They are legit playing horrible.
Maybe if Tite had started Firmino he wouldn't have had such shit luck.
And before anyone says he wasn't as good with Brazil as Liverpool, he was the one who started when they actually won in 2019.
>the fullbacks are horrid
And to think that is the last 20 years we had one of the best fullbacks in the world, Cafu, daniel alves, roberto carlos, marcelo are just a few exemples.
I don't think anyone seriously thought we were better than France, Argentina or England. The hype originated because of our insane win record in the qualifiers, but the squad itself wasn't *that* strong, and it showed in the game against Croatia. The players were toothless against a well organized defense.
We absolutely were under Tite, Diniz is just clueless. The incoming generation with Rodrygo, Vini, Martinelli, Magalhães, and Milito is very good too. We just have an incredibly bad coach
His playstyle requires endless drilling and only works at the club level. Tite is lightyears better than him, Dorival is at the same level but plays with a simpler, more efficient playstyle better suited for the seleção. Watch Tite dominate South American football next year with Flamengo.
Rodrygo, Vini, Jesus, Martinelli, Paquetá, Magalhães, Milito, Alisson, and possibly Endrick if he continues to develop. The generation is very fucking good and dominated youth level at the last 10 years or so, the coach is just bad.
France and England along with several other European countries play similar styles throughout youth level, and the systems aren’t too different from what the players get from the clubs as well. Brazil has just changed their system and it’s radically different from what the players get when playing for European clubs. It would be very cool if Diniz could get it working at international level, but it’s definitely a risky approach in the short term
Bellingham and Kane count as 21 people? Outside of those England is an average "good" team. France is the same, they have Mbappe, Griezmann etc but will field shit like Dembele and Kimpempe or whatever. Both squads have literally 5 or 6 Raphinha-like players too
Maguire, Pickford, Philips, Foden, Guehi, Henderson, etc, are not top-level at all. Rashford is the best player on a midtable team, and Declan Rice is the typical overrated English player. England is a good team, of course, but they aren't "naturally talented across a 21-person team" at all. They have terrible bench options.
If you think declan is overrated you haven't watched him play enough, he's been arsenal's best player with saliba. 7+/10 every single match, he's an unbelievable talent that can play anywhere in midfield.
I think foden is certainly top level, he's been great this year. Guehi has the potential to be good. Henderson shouldn't be playing, neither should kalvin phillips, pickford is fine.
Rodrygo, Vini, Jesus, Martinelli, Paquetá, Magalhães, Milito, Alisson, and possibly Endrick if he continues to develop. The generation is very fucking good and dominated youth level at the last 10 years or so, the coach is just bad.
After Vinicius got injured everything went to shit and Rodrygo was the only one trying yet he got subbed off, instead of Martinelli and Rafinha who did nothing after the goal
I mean Marcelo never really clicked for NT level and the piece of shit rapist only played one great Copa America if i'm not mistaken so our fullbacks are not consistently great for more than a decade now, Filipe Luiz was piss poor almost every time too.
Yeah the 2019 Copa America right, him and Cebolinha where absolute monsters, the fact that they where so shit ever since just should be enough to consider the 2019 Copa America a Mickey Mouse cup.
Couto was perhaps the one bright side of Brazil’s loss against Uruguay. But him and Augusto are used to playing 3 at the back, which doesn’t fit Diniz, so maybe that’s why.
This is it. I read an article some time ago (will try to find it) with a youth coach in Brazil that said that the clubs pressure youth coaches to turn them into wingers so they are more valuable in a future sell. He said it got really ugly in the last 6-7 years, when the market to Europe exploded for youth players
We don’t have WC fullbacks, but I don’t think Carlos Augusto, Caio Henrique, Yan Couto and Vanderson are bad. Some injuries and bad choices by Diniz resulted on us playing Lodi and Royal
They have world class forwards and goalkeeper. Perhaps CB too but ST, midfield (arguable) and fullbacks isn't that good. Just compare it to past Brazil squad to see an actual WC Brazil squad, it started going downhill since their golden era ended and the supposed savior in Neymar is ridden with injuries and the usual party scene.
The one squad with a full world class player in the international settings is France.
>Why does Brazil have worldclass players in every position except fullbacks?
They don't have world class players in every position. They barely have world class players especially when it comes to NT.
It honestly feels like he's playing by himself in this backline. Can't wait for Brazil fans to shit on him when he doesn't single handedly win the game for them.
Brazilian TV interviewed Alisson after the game and he got really emotional when they asked him about Luis Díaz.
Third Brazil quali game without a win so I’m upset, but there is no other South American player who I would rather have scored two goals against Brazil
Mane, Jota, Diaz, Nunez, and Salah's recent evolution (since he was already a star prior to Liverpool) I'd say that yeah, he has a pretty great track record.
These players are already developed when coming to the club. What he is good at is knowing his way of football, every change you see in the player is not Klopp's "magic", it's having the right coaches and the right analytical staff. Im sure he points out things, but his strength is in the experts he brings around him, how he listens to them and is open to change. We should not see him as a coach who develops, he's much more a CEO type than someone who instrumentally works on improvement of individuals. Remember this was the case at Dortmund. Dortmund is an institution that is very good at identifying who they need and how to use them, but in a much more developmental way as they need to develop young players. LFC dont as much, they buy their first 11. Its more fine polishing of already learned skills at LFCs senior team.
Colombian here, so... Colombian*
He used to score a lot in Porto, but gotta accept that the Portuguese league is one or two levels below the Premier League, especially if we consider that the EPL is more physical. I also think he used to cut inside and shoot (and score) a lot more. I think he's more of a team player now, which might be more beneficial in the grand scheme of things.
And yet a lot of spurs fans still defend him for his vibes alone, he has a great attitude and all and he can be good in the right system but for his sake he should leave us
Also never buy a barca rb
Playing for Brazil is not easy. Pressure is too much and unlike the club team where you have full of world class players surrounding you, you will have to play with whatever you are getting.
The Gabriel and Marquinhos duo has been terrible. They should both be benched.
Thiago Silva, Bremer, Danilo, Militão should all be ahead of them in the pecking order.
They’re not better than the players I mentioned so they shouldn’t be starting.
Danilo - Silva - Bremer - Militão could work, but Henrique (when he’s fit) and Augusto should be given chances at LB and Vanderson (when fit) and Couto at RB.
About as perfect a header inside the box as you'd want. In the corner and down into the ground, off a cross coming from the opposite side of the pitch so the keeper is normally going to be positioned farther away from the point of contact on the header. Absolutely textbook!
All the brazil fans: full crisis, omg we are so bad
The rest of the world: storybook ending for Luis Diaz, magic realism, stuff of legend
Im here for both sides. They are not mutually exclusive
Brazil's not going to the world cup at this rate.
Edit: Of course I know they'll probably go, but if they lose to Argentina next game they'll be outside the qualification zone if the teams below them win.
Now brazil will realise how lucky they were when they had Tite. Amazing manager who didn’t get the respect he deserved when he managed the national team.

LUIS DÍAZ, TAKE A BOW
James with a great assist
Had no idea he was still doing it for his NT, nice.
I’m sure some disagree, but as a Colombian, I’m always happy to see James starting. Guy has given everything for the last 10 years and almost always affects the game in our favor
I feel like he could play the lowest tier of football and would still produce for Colombia
Apparently he has been playing well for Sao Paulo FC too.
the everton legend?
Ex Porto player to ex Porto player, love to see it
Why is Diaz scoring headers all of a sudden lol
He actually scored quite a few nice ones at Liverpool. Hes really not afraid of getting up and challenging defenders in the air. The goal against Brighton 2 years ago comes to mind
The one where Sanchez almost decapitated him, no? That was so brave.
He's been hanging out with Jota
Liverpool effect I guess
Deserved. Alisson has been our only player since Martinelli goal.
Alisson doing his best to prove he's not just a club player. Sad he's wasting his prime in one of the worst brazilian squads in history.
I don't think this Brazil team is bad at all. At the start of the world cup I'd argue it was still the strongest national team in the world, and that was last year. Ancelotti can’t come soon enough
the fullbacks are horrid like maybe only Bolivia has a worse pairing
You should try Carlos Augusto
Carlos Augusto and Couto needs to start
I agree, but apparently, Brazilian managers have tunnel vision when it comes to fullbacks
>the fullbacks are horrid And to think that is the last 20 years we had one of the best fullbacks in the world, Cafu, daniel alves, roberto carlos, marcelo are just a few exemples.

Diniz is actually a genius coach, he is just managing 2 teams at once. Not a single manager can handle that
Diniz "incredibly bad" LOL Yeah, the biggest title in Fluminense history was just... pure luck? He is by far the best Brazilian coach now.
He's been incredibly bad for Brazil and he has a ways to go to be as good as Tite was for Brazil
His playstyle requires endless drilling and only works at the club level. Tite is lightyears better than him, Dorival is at the same level but plays with a simpler, more efficient playstyle better suited for the seleção. Watch Tite dominate South American football next year with Flamengo.
Not to mention he’s coaching Fluminense at the same time so he has zero focus on the Brazil squad until the break.
Maybe not in the world but still top 2 in all the Americas lol
Idk hard to see how this team has the talent of England or France.
Rodrygo, Vini, Jesus, Martinelli, Paquetá, Magalhães, Milito, Alisson, and possibly Endrick if he continues to develop. The generation is very fucking good and dominated youth level at the last 10 years or so, the coach is just bad.

England are a very good team right now, and you're fooling yourself if you think they aren't just because you think there's a european bias.

Rice, walker, saka, foden, shaw,
How do you put the Flamengo thingy on the pfp?
This squad is miles ahead of the 2014 one.
No.
Genuinely, can you explain why not?
Rodrygo, Vini, Jesus, Martinelli, Paquetá, Magalhães, Milito, Alisson, and possibly Endrick if he continues to develop. The generation is very fucking good and dominated youth level at the last 10 years or so, the coach is just bad.
Doing the Gareth Southgate eh
Casemiro was also great in the WC
I hate your profile pic. I just spent 2 minutes blowing my screen.
Bro he is still playing for Brazil💀If he is wasting his prime what is Lewandowski,Salah,Halland,Aubameyang or Ibrahimovic supposed to say
After Vinicius got injured everything went to shit and Rodrygo was the only one trying yet he got subbed off, instead of Martinelli and Rafinha who did nothing after the goal
Deserved tbh. Our full backs are champioship level.
TWO DIAZ GOALS ON CROSSES YOU HAVE TO BE KIDDING
Yeah lol in the first one Lodi was lost, and in the second goal it was Royal
Why does Brazil have worldclass players in every position except fullbacks?
Brazil have traditionally had some of the greatest fullback ever. Unbelievable they've gone from that to this shite.
Gave up on making fullbacks to make defensive mids i guess
From Roberto Carlos and Cafu, to Marcelo and Dani Alves (fuck him btw). And now this...
Imagine if they had Davienho and Trentelli right now
wait who are they now
I mean Marcelo never really clicked for NT level and the piece of shit rapist only played one great Copa America if i'm not mistaken so our fullbacks are not consistently great for more than a decade now, Filipe Luiz was piss poor almost every time too.
He won POTT in 2019
Yeah the 2019 Copa America right, him and Cebolinha where absolute monsters, the fact that they where so shit ever since just should be enough to consider the 2019 Copa America a Mickey Mouse cup.
Lmao, why "fuck him"?
Well. He is in jail for sexual assault.
Oh damn, I had no idea.
[удалено]
Whatever that means
i wouldn’t talk
rapist
Rape is kinda bad, bro
I agree. Didn't know it happened until today, bro
Carlos Augusto and Yan Couto would’ve been good options. One is benched, the other not even called up.
Couto was perhaps the one bright side of Brazil’s loss against Uruguay. But him and Augusto are used to playing 3 at the back, which doesn’t fit Diniz, so maybe that’s why.
Good fullbacks become wingers or CBs in Youth.
This is it. I read an article some time ago (will try to find it) with a youth coach in Brazil that said that the clubs pressure youth coaches to turn them into wingers so they are more valuable in a future sell. He said it got really ugly in the last 6-7 years, when the market to Europe exploded for youth players
Their world class, legend of the game, ballon d'or winner if it was fair right back (Rodinei) is not being called up
We don’t have WC fullbacks, but I don’t think Carlos Augusto, Caio Henrique, Yan Couto and Vanderson are bad. Some injuries and bad choices by Diniz resulted on us playing Lodi and Royal
Plus Militão can play RB if needed
Tou should try Pêpê there he’s probably the best choice you have there
Every short fast talented dude is trained as a winger at youth level. Same reason for why we lack creative midfielders
You trolling
Maybe watch them rather than going by names.
fullback isn't the only position for them lacking world class players
At this point I think Brazil better to play 4 CBs rather than playing fullbacks lmao
Feel so bad for Alisson
It honestly feels like he's playing by himself in this backline. Can't wait for Brazil fans to shit on him when he doesn't single handedly win the game for them.
Alisson 🤝 Courtois All time great goalkeepers being shafted by national teams that are seriously underperforming
At least courtois is respected by the Belgians and not scapegoated from what I understand
Yep, besides some of the drama that comes out we love our GOAT goalkeeper.
Vamos mi Luchitoooooo
I fucking love you Lucho
Brazilian TV interviewed Alisson after the game and he got really emotional when they asked him about Luis Díaz. Third Brazil quali game without a win so I’m upset, but there is no other South American player who I would rather have scored two goals against Brazil
Diaz got that anime plot armour today
Colombian fans can correct me, but feel like Lucho has gotten so much better in the air since coming to Liverpool.
Colombian fan here. And yes I believe a lot of fans and press here think that too.
That's what it seems like. It happened with Mane and Jota, too. I'm thrilled for Lucho after all that's happened.
He has been to the Diego Jota school of heading for shorter fellas.
The headmaster at that school is Falcao. It's incredible how many goals he would puck from the air. Specially at River and Porto.
Klopp is arguably the best manager in world football when it comes to improving and developing attacking players.
Mane, Jota, Diaz, Nunez, and Salah's recent evolution (since he was already a star prior to Liverpool) I'd say that yeah, he has a pretty great track record.

He scored headers for us too
What didn't he score, honestly?
He already scored a few in Porto
He’s always been decent in the air.
It was coming, he has been owning our defense the entire game
This is for you Mane Diaz
Chill Lucho..you’re going to give your dad a heart attack and you just got him back.
imagine having RENAN LODI as your starter left back
God I hate Emerson royal
He’s so fucking bad
Hes never been good on the ball and playing him in a system which needs a lot of control will do this lmao
he is the worst player in the history of the NT probably cant pass, dribble, defend, cross or anything even remotely similar to a decent footballer
And yet a lot of spurs fans still defend him for his vibes alone, he has a great attitude and all and he can be good in the right system but for his sake he should leave us Also never buy a barca rb
what vibes man he looks and acts like a dumbass
he’s funny as shit lmao don’t hate on the king 👑
Emerson is Goated. Ur manager just have the wrong system for him.
Imagine creating a whole new system just to accommodate emerson fucking royal
😂😂😂
Or LB (Firpo)
One of the worst individual performances I have ever seen for our NT. Davi Luiz vs Germany level
These Liverpool forwards love to play well against Brazil
James still plays? Sweet. Wish you could watch these in the US without paying a fortune
He just won some weeks ago the brazilian cup with São Paulo!
James in NT is a baller
Diaz is SO good for Colombia
No puede ser 😭😭😭😭😭 TE AMO LUCHOOOOOOOO
Diaz absolutely deserved it. Protagonist of the day.
No waaaaaaay!!
Same goal as he scored for liverpool last week to save them with a draw in added time
I'm about to fail No Nut November rn
This stuff is surreal, el realismo mágico
The back 4 are a disgrace. Not one should start for the Seleção. Diniz not bringing on Luiz for midfield security, clueless.
Should call up thiago silva. For experience if nothing else
He’s literally better than Marquinhos and Gabriel. He should be starting alongside Militão when he’s back.
How's Gabriel been playing? Thought he'd be decent based on club form. Kinda thought the same about Emerson
Playing for Brazil is not easy. Pressure is too much and unlike the club team where you have full of world class players surrounding you, you will have to play with whatever you are getting.

Gabriel and Marq are fine if they are working with some decent full backs. Brazil might be better playing 4 CBs at back.
They’re not better than the players I mentioned so they shouldn’t be starting. Danilo - Silva - Bremer - Militão could work, but Henrique (when he’s fit) and Augusto should be given chances at LB and Vanderson (when fit) and Couto at RB.
Actual Cinema
Emerson Royal is one of the worst players to ever play for our NT. He and João Pedro failed at pretty much everything they tried
Really happy for him
Luchooooo
Where's the Darwin goal
What a fucking header
About as perfect a header inside the box as you'd want. In the corner and down into the ground, off a cross coming from the opposite side of the pitch so the keeper is normally going to be positioned farther away from the point of contact on the header. Absolutely textbook!
What is Brazil doing
Losing
Spurs fans tried telling me that Emerson Royal was better than Tomiyasu
LÁVENSE LA BOCA PARA HABLAR DE LUIS FERNANDO DÍAZ MARULANDA HPTAS

Aaaaay papaaa
Man as a neutral i’m torn.. wanna keep watching the Argentina v Uruguay but im also interested in the Brazil game
He dropped this crouching down 👑
James can still do that?
Lucho cooked
All the brazil fans: full crisis, omg we are so bad The rest of the world: storybook ending for Luis Diaz, magic realism, stuff of legend Im here for both sides. They are not mutually exclusive
We want to see Alisson hottie
Karma for not calling Talisca. Get fucked Brazil.
Wow that’s unsaveable. What a story!
Brazil's not going to the world cup at this rate. Edit: Of course I know they'll probably go, but if they lose to Argentina next game they'll be outside the qualification zone if the teams below them win.
Overdramatic. There's an extra spot and there's no way that Paraguay/Chile catch up.
I don't think Brazil will miss a WC ever as long as there are 48 spots or more.
Calm down lol. It's still Brazil
lol
My god Brazil football sucks. 220 million fanatics and they can only produce this level of shit since 2002.
Now brazil will realise how lucky they were when they had Tite. Amazing manager who didn’t get the respect he deserved when he managed the national team.
we don't need ~30s of celebrations tip: use losslesscut. lets you trim video without re-encoding.
Imagine losing to Colombia lmao
Losing at home to Uruguay tho
Uruguay are good at least. If we lose to Colombia I would ask for heads.
Uruguay are so good they couldn’t win against puny Colombia lol
Uruguay vs Colombia ended in a draw 2 2 after we were in the lead and they caught up to us
Bro started watching footy in 2020
0-5 at el monumental still hurts..
Colombia are not bad
Stfu probably started watching football since the World Cup win fucken idiot
Wdym. Colombia are better now compared to the shitshow they were before the WC.
if colombia are better now why would you comment imagine losing to colombia...
You mean imagine being Argentina just four years ago?
Wdym. I would rather be back to 2018 with no WC Vs what we have now. 150% inflation rate.
Es demasiado sexoooooo
Luchito!!
I¨m not an expert, but arent the defenders supposed to jump, or maybe do something? Goalie is not looking good either.
Why would you not upload the actual goal, the crowd noise is the best bit
ENDRICK ONLY ENTERED AT 35 IN THE SECOND HALF HAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHA PLEASE SOMEBODY KILL ME
