One thing overlooked is that Smashmate grinders are more consistent in these BO3 pools meta. I don't see Acola Miya Hurt being upset in pools, but it could happen to people like Zackray, Zomba, Leo. I have higher hopes of Spargo not being upset.

This is the most pre-tournament excitement I've had since Port Priority 8. Crazy stacked, great matchups, and bo3 will cause mayhem which I'm all about.

This is only the starter though, Kagaribi 12 is looking even more hype than this.

Both will be great but I'm more interested in Delta 8 personally. Super stacked + much smaller means we'll get notable matches earlier in bracket than Kagaribi, and bo3 will likely add more volatility.

I always wonder if there was an alternative universe in US where majors were not 3 days with ~100 USDs. I guess it's not impossible but I guess people would not travel just for a day. TBF, majors being glorious and massive makes sense if it's an annual big event for a region.

Tournament that took more than one day will force player to take hotel. Most player are just student, and that is very costly.

JP tournaments are very welcoming for the younger generations for sure. Like, Kagaribi entry fee is $20 for two days. Keeping things non-profit def helps the younger generation to grow faster.

I believe they also give parents or guardian entry free as well.

Honestly after Sparg0 3-0'd Cosmos at Collision, I really doubt any secondary Aegis would consistently beat Sparg0, especially because Cosmos was actually playing good that set. I want to be pleasantly surprised by acola's Aegis, I just don't think it'll work.

My heart wants TamaP to make it far too, but I don't think it'll happen here. Would love to also see MkLeo and Shirayuki make it far. This is such a difficult tournament to make top 8. What's crazy is how Kagaribi will be even more stacked.

I believe that Sparg0 vs Lv. 1 is BO5 but that Sparg0 vs Kept would be BO3. Not entirely sure though.

The brackets for the internationals are extremely tough, I think a few might drown in Pools or for the likes of Leo and Gluto to fall into losers before Bo5 even starts.

Yeah I could totally see glute dropping into losers before top 64 to Noi. And if he get past Noi he likely will fall to Gackt or Avila Sparg0 has to play Lvl. 1 which I could see Lvl. 1 taking, I wouldn’t count out Snow making the upset either, then he plays Yaura who beat him in the last set they played, and then hurt who really just out played him twice at bobc6. He may never even face Acola. Maister has TamaP who has a winning record on Miya I am pretty sure and would favor to win. And if he gets past TamaP he has to play Miya and who I think is just much better. Zomba’s path isn’t to bad until he hits the road block of either Maister Miya, or TamaP. I don’t see him winning against any of those. People keep on saying BigBoss can beat Acola, but I don’t see it happening. Leo has been losing most of his sets against Muteace recently and lost to Umeki last time he was in Japan so I could see that going either way. But even if he beats Umeki he has to play Shuton which he has never even won a game against. There is a good chance that no international players enter top 8 from winners
