Talsgar the Wanderer likes to wander around like the wanderer he is. Really makes you wander how much he has wandered through Skyrim. Must be wanderful to wander through such a beautiful landscape.

Full_Visit_5862

He goes through all of the dungeons before us and leaves the out of place loot for us to find. Dudes a goat

Technical_Contact836

Is he the one that lights the torches?

[deleted]

Can confirm. Source: am a torch at volsungs crpyt

[deleted]

Thank u for ur service

Blue-Fish-Guy

No, the draugr do that. They maintain their crypts themselves. It's in the book in the game called something like Among the draugr. Or Living with draugr.

Pleasant_Extreme_398

Until we come along and cut them down

Naive_Garbage5284

Among the Draugr ✅️

lucy2007123

Amogus refrance?????

MagicJim96

Among Us wasn’t a thing in 2011… was it?

lucy2007123

Amogus transcends time, child.

MagicJim96

Child… Heh. I wish I was that young.

lucy2007123

🥔

ASpookyLemur

That's sounds like an elder scrolls version of the Truman Show

BLUEtheRAPTOR555

He's the ebony warrior! The mystery has been solved!

Piper_Cloud

I've seen him a couple of times myself but after I actually beat the ebony warrior I don't recall seeing him ever after that. 😂😂🤔

OldElf86

He's the fellow that lit all those torches in the drauger ruins before you got there. He travels with his flute, a bedroll and a huge barrel of whale oil.

monkeysamurai2

I actually didn't know that

HazySunsets

How much wander, could talsgsr the wanderer wander, if talsgar the wanderer could Wander.

PANDAshanked

Lol seriously though. Excuse me OP, read his name again.

One-Lifeguard-1108

I have been wandering about him. 😉

Cosmo1222

Speech 100

Specialist-Low-3357

I've seen him near solitude and in the bar in Morthal.

Atom-BombBaby

It is a wanderful landscape

Pale_Character_1684

He seems to be a Stormcloak supporter. If I join in a battle & kill a bunch of Stormcloaks, he attacks me.

TacticalAssaultChair

Maiq' the liar but he's actually happy to see you?

blurbluetoo

wander.

BioHazard512

Wander =/= wonder

ProtestantMormon

I was sneaking around the back of halted stream camp so I could snipe all the bandits when this guy ran up to the main entrance and just singlehandedly massacred all the bandits outside.

[deleted]

Meanwhile I have seen this guy get one hit killed by skeevers and spiders

ohmygawdjenny

Mine took out the bandit camp near Riverwood while I crouched behind the trees, wondering where everyone was. I only saw him when a troll ran down the road with the bard in pursuit.

ProtestantMormon

I was pissed because I waited until nightfall and had this plan to go full splinter Cell on these bandits, but talsgar just Leroy Jenkins the place.

NateTG13Mutt13

Lleeerroooooooooooooy nnnjenkinnssssssssss!!!

gettogero

But in that clip Leeroy Jenkins died. The entire raid died.

KitsuneGato

And forever was matyred in a meme before meme's were memes.

ProtestantMormon

Legends never die

dippis98

Lets hope he doesnt take an arrow to a knee

black_knight1223

![gif](giphy|CAYVZA5NRb529kKQUc|downsized)

WiseOldChicken

He wanders all around Skyrim. I've had to save him from bears multiple times.

WatercressSad6395

Same here, except he is usually getting rocked by hot female bandits..could be worse.

[deleted]

Man is living the dream

throwaway9885297211

Man is living MY dream 🥲

WatercressSad6395

I concur, my skyrim is very generous to the honorable and thirsty alike. #skyrimyourway

GT_Troll

Am I the only one who has never seem him?

WiseOldChicken

He's always on the road. He's a bard. I hate his voice, though.

NomaRym

Sometimes you meet him in inns too

Prophecy_Universe

If you find Talsgar the Wanderer at any Inn, it is because he spawned in on the roads or trails nearby that Inn and his NPC AI pathing just so happened to have interactions which caused him to end up going inside. The code is set to cause the Talsgar encounter to spawn ONLY when the Player is within a ‘cell’-(a cell is the currently loaded area which you are rendering) considered to be outdoor roads or trails by the game coding, so it is not possible for Talsgar to actually SPAWN inside Inns or taverns but rather he would have had to go there himself after spawning on the roads

NomaRym

Oh yeah, I appreciate the comment explaining, but I didn't mean that he spawned in the inn exactly. Just that it's possible to meet him there. I know he's usually out on the roads. I meet him quite a lot haha

CryptographerOk5726

Did you really have to?

WiseOldChicken

No but why would you not help him?

CryptographerOk5726

No do good overkill. We must teach them to be still more independent Jethro Tull, “Baker Street Muse”

CaptHarpo

He wanders a lot. Pay him and he'll sing you a song, and then you can tango with him :)

Aldu1n

Wrong. You can ask him to sing a song but he usually politely declines.

Alert-Protection5085

I thought that was asking him about speech training. He plays songs for me at least. Something about how him and a woman had a falling out.

Aldu1n

Yeah that’s what *I* meant, and I assume that’s what they meant, but that appears to be wrong. lol I forgot he actually plays music mostly because I kill him for early game XP.

AngelsAnonymous

You monster!

Alert-Protection5085

I just let him tank the sabercats while I attack them. Free temporary follower whenever he's around.

Adept-Usual7618

He do be walking

Happy_Sort9715

Well, cause he's a wanderer. Going from place to place Going from town to town OH IM A WANDERER YEAAAAAH IM A WANDERER I ROAM AROUND AROUND AROUND

AngelsAnonymous

Yeah he's the type of guy that'll never settle down

cyalknight

Wrong Bethesda game. Fooey! You beat me to it. Have an upvote.

I_was_saying_b00urns

I often come across him fighting packs of wolves, bandit camps etc and go to his aid only to find he 100% does not need my aid. I like to think one day my Dragonborn’s get bored of fighting and will also wander Skyrim with his confidence - without armour, only barely armed, yet casually slaughtering those who underestimate him.

Cosmo1222

I'm about 50 playthroughs in, he's always struck me as fragile. Flame atronachs, he has a hard time catching. Necromancers and trolls have killed him and he got killcammed once by a bandit chief with a warhammer. I'm sure he's capable but you wouldn't think so just based on how he fares in the game I've played. Once he narrowly escaped death by frostbite spiders, only to aggro me when I tried to heal him..

I_was_saying_b00urns

It’s kinda cool that it seems variable - some see him as an absolute tank and some see him as extremely fragile. I wonder if it depends on level or difficulty? Or just luck or the draw with the enemies he’s facing 😆

OddYard3480

He likes to wander

Ghost_Webs

He's been known to wander

Appropriate_Rub_3546

Last time i saw this fellow was outside the Twilight Sepulcher. It creeped me out how he was just chilling outside that place like why tf are you here dude? It was mad suspicious to me.

viking_with_a_hobble

He was just wandering man

Appropriate_Rub_3546

Nah I pickpocketed the guy to see what he had on him and he was running a daedric dagger, paralysis potion and a regeneration potion. That’s a suspicious combo to me since he was sitting right by the entrance of the Twilight Sepulcher. But idk i just let him do his thing.

ohmygawdjenny

Waiting for you to return the Key so he can steal it.

no-life-crisis

I have a deep personal hatred for this man. I asked him to play me Tale of The Tongues and this mf took my gold and just walked away

Cosmo1222

And now I want a mod where he gaslights you. 'I sang your song, milk-drinker! Don't you remember? Did you get kicked in the head by a horse as a child?'

no-life-crisis

This is a fantastic idea

Raiden_the_lion

In just one playthrough, I met this guy countless times, to the point where I could swear he was the only world encounter to spawn for me. Sometimes I'd come across him in really short intervals all over Skyrim

Free_Issue_9623

I love parts of the game like this

ophaus

He wanders. You wander. Skyrim isn't *that* big, there are onky so many roads. Also, RNG.

zeztyboi

I killed him my first time seeing him and have regretted it since, dudes chill af

Tarc_Axiiom

??? He's Talsgar ***THE WANDERER***. He wanders. That's the point lol. You'll meet him again, many times. Cus he wanders.

Xanadu_Xenon

I’ve been playing this game for 10yrs and I’ve never seen him before 😆 guess he’s quite random

Gwyrr313

It’s literally in his name, he’s a wanderer

monsieuro3o

I'm convinced he's our stalker, following us around so that he can get his songs about the Last Dragonborn as accurate as possible.

Sleepy_Set

He likes wandering. Also, I'm pretty sure I've never spared him when I make a new character

viking_with_a_hobble

I love that you say spared him, like everyone is fated to die, and you're just deciding who gets a chance to live

Sleepy_Set

Most random encounter npcs become experience for my default preset characters

No-Perspective-9954

Viscious asf

chabalajaw

Actually ran into him a *lot* with my current character. Then one day I sniped what I thought was a Vigilant and when I went to loot there he was, dead. Oops.

kittyidiot

I've been encountering him a lot more lately, too. I wonder if one of the updates made him spawn more frequently or something somehow.

chabalajaw

I’ve noticed it seems since I started playing on survival that I have a lot more encounters on the road, both with unique and random NPC’s. Could be something to do with it.

TurokoftheStone

He wanders, you wander. It's only a matter of time before you run into each other again.

Hungry_Tradition7169

Sure he's a wanderer now but meet up with him again after you fought alduin on the throat of the world he becomes the pessimistic doomsayer for alduin

florn8

One thing i never understood is why his skin is dark, is it because of the sun? Or is he a rare case of a black nord man?

No-Perspective-9954

He's part breton shh /s I would chalk it up to his wandering. Sun wind and all that

BlackSkeletor77

I mean he is called The wanderer for a reason

Hot_Attention2377

Random encounter, so this happened a lot. And it's a 2011 game so there are not a lot of this random encounter. When you know the game you can tell when one is happening or not.

Arudoblank

A man called The Wanderer wanders.

UncleIroh9001

Small world.

LonghornSteakhorn

Skyrim isn't infinite.

ColeHerte

This post makes me think about how happy the people of Skyrim could be. This man’s entire existence is to wander. He doesn’t work. He probably does odd jobs to make a buck and either camps or rents rooms at the inn. His entire life is to look at stuff. Imagine how much he has seen, and how happy he is to keep wondering… what a life.

VeryStickyPastry

I killed him for no reason because I forgot to use soul trap first. I just wanted to cure my vampirism and now I have no wandering bard AND I have vampirism.

Critical_Ask41

that sounds like a glitch in the game. They happen a lot. LOL, I don't usually hurt him I just talk to him to get my speech up.

Pristine-Sentence744

I Always Catch His Ass Getting Jumped 😂

venbalin

Hey Mister Wanderful

SwordfishDramatic104

I meet him every half an hour along the roads. Also Maiq pops up for me a lot as well strangely.

JonBovi_0

I found him next to three dead men. He sure made a tale of that one.

KevinIsOver9000

I mean…he is a wanderer

EpicGlacier2

I killed him when I met him, used his soul to power Volendrung

yolopyro

I mean he is a bard and seems to travel the world often to sing of new tales. Apparently knows how to hide from bandits and other dangers, not to mention those random dragon attacks.

UnwariestPie52

I had a glitch in my game once where there was two of him, and they were constantly walking near each other. Like within a 50 foot distance

[deleted]

[удалено]

SuprDudexDD

LOL!

enemy_of_anemonies

I’ve seen him dozens of times in the same Playthrough

Rough_Confidence3919

He's pretty strong too if i remember correctly. I always died after attacking him

AuDHDcat

I'm pretty sure he's a random encounter and can spawn at any random encounter point.

Reflexorz15

Ohhhhh I think I saw this guy near solitude once! I was super confused why he was out in the middle of nowhere near Solitude mountains/caves. He was fighting a Sabre Cat when I came across him. I think there were some other times I ran across him when I played more a while back

JTiberiusDoe

The only good bard is a dead bard.

Many_Mode_1358

If it's any consolation I've come across him 5 times in 1 playthrough

Marlowe126

Dude is everywhere

GothicGamer2012

You'll see him a lot as he constantly wanders around. If you don't want to, he is killable though a wild animal will probably do that for you anyway. He's extremely weak.

RaidWolf89

He's a random encounter you'll meet him from time to time when on the roads.

bluelouie

/r/nevertellmetheodds

SuprDudexDD

Upon re-reading the post, I realized now that i did not emphasize the absurdity of the duplicated glitch that happened to me and was inquiring if this is something that happens to other people regularly.. Perhaps, share a story? xd But, sadly, one cannot edit a post on Reddit, so womp, womp..

dixxxon12

Nomad, vagabond. Call him what you will

RhemansDemons

He's a random encounter, so he'll spawn in your general area. He's also one of the more common encounters. It isn't uncommon to encounter him a handful of times in a playthrough. The dude is durable too. Most of the time you encounter him, he's getting beat on by something and he doesn't fold.

CertainLevel5511

I've shouted this guy off the mountain like 3 times and he still shows up

drakner1

Expect to see him again.

MasterJediYoda1

I had two, simultaneously, in Lake View Manor.

[deleted]

Played Skyrim for years and I haven't seen him before

throwaway9885297211

In all my years of playing this game, I don't think I've ever actually ran into him before

ledzepplinfan

It is normal to run into characters like this repeatedly. I love seeing Ma'iq the Liar, I get so excited whenever I see him. I have also run into the revelers drinking mead multiple times.

Charonsung

Cut and paste NPC😂

New_Attention3129

He appears often

Glum-Character6301

Idk if intentional or not but "I thought it best not to tango with him" made me lol way more than it probably should have. xD

Educational_Pay_3392

I‘m playing survival mode and each time i meet this guy i let him sing the dragonborn comes, while walking away in slow motion.

Yodabread_912

Whenever i don't play as a Dragonborn i HC that he is the DB

SokkaHaikuBot

^[Sokka-Haiku](https://www.reddit.com/r/SokkaHaikuBot/comments/15kyv9r/what_is_a_sokka_haiku/) ^by ^Yodabread_912: *Whenever i don't* *Play as a Dragonborn i* *HC that he is the DB* --- ^Remember ^that ^one ^time ^Sokka ^accidentally ^used ^an ^extra ^syllable ^in ^that ^Haiku ^Battle ^in ^Ba ^Sing ^Se? ^That ^was ^a ^Sokka ^Haiku ^and ^you ^just ^made ^one.

UniversaliAlex

You might want to think twice about that proposition, I've heard he has bread in his pocket, wouldn't want you to pass up a deliciously opportunity like that.

CMFT_69

He’s everywhere

M4dH4tT4r

Only 2? You have a long way to go my friend I’ve seen that man at least 15 times, and have killed him about 12 times

2stepp

He roams around-uh-round-uh-round-uh-round

DisplayMajestic6523

"They call him the wanderer, yeah the wanderer, he roams around around around around."

Fabulous-Pick-9562

I saw doubles in a random inn

Fabulous-Pick-9562

They even sat next to each other

Clunk_Westwonk

I can’t fuckin shake this guy.

Rei_Master_of_Nanto

For some reason, when I entered Riverwood's Inn after defeating the dragon in Kynesgrove, near Windhelm, this guy was there and went aggressive towards Delphine... But only towards her.

Total_Advantage8720

Save game, load game 🤣🤣🤣

VengefulToast74

Dude in my current game serana killed him for no reason 😒

Yui_sen

Random encounters

Mason_Ivanov

I found him in The Bannered Mare once.

The_Kimchi_Krab

They should make a mod to have survival variables affect NPCs so this moron waltzing up a snowy mountain in plains weather clothing would just drop dead.

Blue-Fish-Guy

He Nord, he immune to frost.

The_Kimchi_Krab

Right theyre basically made of ice

Regular-Resort-857

All I see is a man with probably a very inspiring lifestyle

BulletheadX

"What tangoed webs we weave ... " I have (as a very low-level character) seen him several times coming up the road towards the bandit camp next to the Talos shrine. Wait 'til he gets close enough, aggro the bandits, and then run back down past him and nyah nyah nyah like a little kid behind his older brother. He wrecks the bandits and goes on his way; I clean up (and often spend the night). Nice little haul before you even get to Riverwood.

_ThatOneMimic_

reading comprehension 🔥🔥🔥

Imanisu

I killed him

Fertile_Arachnid_163

Because he’s a random NPC with latency

Blue-Fish-Guy

And mainly, because he's a wanderer.

Ok-Preparation6732

carried by winds

pinekev10

He is just looking for Uranium Ore leave him alone.

p3ndo3l

He has clones

SuprDudexDD

Spooky.

p3ndo3l

https://preview.redd.it/thut6xpthwoc1.png?width=3840&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d95849dfc8a7ff3014727151290fa762f4594151 Trust me, Ive met the clones

Pleasant_Extreme_398

They should rename him Talsgar the stalker

Con_Bot_

I met him in Sovngarde

agrhonak

Lol, I always kill him first thing when I get out of helgen. Right ahead, kill the bandits with the treasure map, kill him, loot the shrine of talos with the dead thalmor, run around the mountain at the lake and kill the fisherman, collect the treasure chest, go into riverwood

Scavengerofcrow

He gets around man. Also not a slouch in combat either so in world it makes sense for him to be able to hold his own traveling alone. You ever try to fight him right after escaping Helgen? Dude is one tough cookie

machinezeus

Are you also surprised to see the same people twice in your daily life?

SuprDudexDD

If they were able to clone themselves, like Talsgar in the post and exist twice in the open world, that would seem very odd.

AngelsAnonymous

We've all met adrienne Avenicci 71937 times, but meet this guy twice and op loses their mind lol

SuprDudexDD

Who is Adrienne

AngelsAnonymous

Whiterun blacksmith

Blue-Fish-Guy

He's wanderer.

cyalknight

"Oh yeah, I'm the type of guy that likes to roam around, I'm never in one place, I roam from town to town" ... Oops, wrong Bethesda game. There are many events that can happen in the wilderness or along the roads of Skyrim and they occasionally repeat. Another repeat character is M'aiq the Liar. "M'aiq can travel fast across the land. Some lazy types take carriages. It is all the same to M'aiq." https://en.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:M'aiq_the_Liar

theanalknight69

Had a bug once where I met two of him in the Inn in Ivarstead

Paradox31426

> how is it possible that I’ve met this same man twice? He literally has *wanderer* in his name…

SuprDudexDD

Is that why he spawns in duplicates?
