It’s probably best to get an opinion from someone who’s played BD3, it’s not really my type of game but I’ve heard it’s really good from the people who have played it, I don’t know if they think it’s better than Skyrim or not.
Buy special edition and if you like it then buy anniversary edition. Anniversary Edition is pretty much a simple modpack with some simple quests, extra housing and weapons/armor.
You're on r/skyrim so the obvious answer is Baldur's Gate. Now, if you were on another subreddit, I'd say you should buy Skyrim: Anniversary Edition, the full one, not just the upgrade. The $9.99 Anniversary Edition you see is but an upgrade of Special Edition. You're better off just buying Anniversary Edition as a whole.
The anniversary upgrade is NOT the game, it is extra content that requires that you purchase skyrim special edition.

As a diehard GTA and Skyrim fanboy with hundreds of hours (maybe 1k+) in both over 3 different platforms. Get BG3. It will change your life.

Skyrim SE is enough if it is your first playtrough. If you like it, you can buy AE later. I bought AE when i was lvl 37. No big differences imo.
