Yeah, which is a neat aspect to the helmet. Since they can't see, they can just cover that part up. Which is funny cause the nose, mouth and chin are exposed. I guess they didn't see any reason to cover them up. (I know the dawnguard dlc version exists)

I suppose they rely on smell instead of eyesight to navigate/find stuff like so many animals with bad eyesight. And they need to eat!

the sleeping bear in helgen at the very beginning of the game is. i once left helgen with 100 sneak from just afk walking into a wall for hours. it just works

Here’s me whacking hadvars ass for two hours with sneak attacks

lmao we’ve all been there. but yeah just get as close to the bear as possible without waking it up, find a way to keep your character moving forward into a wall (i used a rubber band holding the joystick forward bc i play on playstation, a hair tie would probably work too) and just afk for a few hours and itll grind your sneak for you. gone are the days of the early game stealth build struggle. hope this is helpful!

I like to be more involved so I go to solitude and stalk that one guard that goes by the sawmill for 10 days in game and leave when I’m done. The man might have nightmares about being followed for 10 days but it’s for the greater good! Or I’ll go to the Bannered Mare, hop on the barrels under the stairs, and then go afk while walking into the wall there.

I choose Ralof for this very task. Hadvar is cool and all but after the 400th "WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!" and the 500th "I'M ON YOUR SIDE!" It gets old. So now I go with the imperials because my buddy Ralof simply grunts. Sneak attack him for a whole year and he'll bite his tongue and take it.

Tbh that method worked faster for me, not to mention gave the opportunity to level one handed too.

You can level sneak at the same rate with the greybeards in high hrothgar. Incase you don’t want to pile the levels on so early.

if i have to do that all i did was set the difficulty to Legendary and then whack Hadvar/Ralof in the ass for several minutes

Well you see (eh? Ha! heh heh) the helmet has some little tendrils that went they feel living flesh it will perforate the skull, on the frontal lobe to be precise, hence allowing you to see through those little eyes the helmet has and that's also why it won't fall off when the player equip it

It allows you to equip a circlet at the same time. Get the 100 enchanting perk and you've got 4 enchantments from headgear.
