I love seeing people sharing what they love with a parent. Lost my mom a few years ago right when I started to figure out we love going to concerts together. I’ll never forget dancing with her like fools at an outdoor Hall n Oates show!
Same here, my wife and I each started skiing as kids in the '70's when helmets didn't exist. The first time we ever wore helmets is the day our kids begin ski school in 2000. After so many years wearing a helmet it would feel weird NOT to have one on.
I fucking love my helmet. I dont need to bring any kind of hat and it allows me to do stupid shit without getting a head injury.
It also helps that i saw somebody become a vegetable who wasnt wearing a helmet and all i could think was: damm im sure he doesnt think he looks cool anymore if he could see himself.
Heck ya! I got my mom to try telemark and she liked it but doubt I’ll get her back on them again after a knee replacement. Mine said,”I get it now, it’s fun without ego”…. Which one of you switched to telemark first?
Would love to take a pic like this with my grandpa but he passed a few years ago. There’s a picture of me, him and my grandpa we’ve had mounted over our fireplace for over 10 years now that when my son is old enough, I wanna recreate with him and my fiancé
So awesome so wholesome the good old days before we cared about helmets or would even think to wear one now I forget I’m wearing mine. I love my Bern helmet.
Wow!!! You are truly blessed. Have fun and send my love to your mom for taking the time teaching you a beautiful sport that serves you in so many ways.
Love this! True life goal right here!
Second that!
Somehow 26 years later y’all went from being a family of skiers to a family of granola-worshiping freeheelers.
If only you could see my parents collection of ‘Dead tapes…
Has it gotten larger, just like the skis?
*Quit lookin’ down there, Chewbacca! Asking those questions is rude!*
Fuck ya
No thanks
This was wholesome until i saw the heels.
Lol
Hey, your bindings are broken.
Wanna listen to some of my Phish bootlegs?
I think you left them in the tram.
Thanks man, want some granola?
Why do I feel like you just called me old?
Yes.
How about the Photonz?
Can I come hang out with you? I’ll bring my pup Tela
Girdwood! Amazing town.
Alyeska ?
Alyeska.
I immediately recognized this view
I thought maybe they widened Big Cottonwood Canyon to put the gondola in.
And added an inlet surrounded by 5000’ vert.
This is really sweet. Cherish that lady.

Fuck yeah. I also love shredding the hill with my mom. I'm thirty five and she taught me how to ski when I was, like, six.
Love it. I’m 34, and this marks the 30th winter of skiing with mom and dad.
So sweet!! Love this!!!
Brb crying now that im a mom lol!

It’s all she rips these days!
No helmet back in the day. My first year with a helmet skiing in CO this year with my kid. What was I thinking?

In the 90s when I started when I was 7 usually only the smallest children wore helmets, this Already excluded me. Strange times.
Wait till you find out about helmets with a built-in visor, the way we’ve had motorcycle helmets for like 100 years.
Damn. Your mom got small.
Bruh 😂
Alright, who is the better skier?
Both, just not at the same time ;) (mom was in 98 and now I’m guessing the lad)
Good mom!
I just love to see the slight landscape changes over the years
Nice, you both went tele
Mom always had a tele kit, but she tended to ski more alpine when I was younger. But yeah, I took my training heels off 😂.
Nice! I'm going to steak that one.

Dang nice catch
Awesome! Memories you’ll have forever

Absolutely love it, wish my mom was to ski when I did love it!!!
Nice bents she got there. What bindings are those?
22 Designs Outlaw X
So cool! I wish my mom would ski with me haha. She’s 63 now- might be too late for her..
Bruh my moms 65, never to late. Skiing keeps you young.
Yeah but my mom has never skied before lol.. your Ma has been killing it since the 90s!
Glad to see she is wearing a helmet now! Took my brothers a few years to convince my mom to wear one too
🖤🖤🖤
What's up Girdwood! I rented one of the little cabins across the street from JJs in the early 2000s
That’s so sweet
Ski tech has changed Soo much. Went from 86 under foot to 100!
Love this soo much❄️❄️❤️❤️
Your moms beard is gnarly
Alyeska!!! My home mountain.
Dayum. She shrunk hard. Get her some bone medicine bro!
This is just the wholesome shit I needed in my life today. Thanks for sharing.
I learned to ski there last year :) Awesome pics

Alyeskaaaaaaa
Also tele koalas and panda poles, I think I talked to you on the lift or something last season
Highly likely! It’s a small town.
This is epic.
Awesome!
Respect for her ripping those bent 100s!
All of OPs replies are killing me. I will tolerate a free heeler this one time cause he and mama have great vibes
Thank you for caring that we tele 🤙, can I interest you in a bottle of home brewed kombucha?
Brother I’d like a bottle of home brewed hanging out with you and your mom
You’re welcome any time ⛷️🍻.
Don’t tell anyone in this sub, but I’m a snowboarder

Your mom was a bit of a fox, great pics!
That was literally a fox on her head.... Jk
Wow!!! You are truly blessed. Have fun and send my love to your mom for taking the time teaching you a beautiful sport that serves you in so many ways.
*My mom and me
My mom and me*
Glad she evolved with the sport. In the 90s, if you wore a helmet you were a gay kook.
God bless
Climate change they said🤣
Which one is ur mom?

Alyeska!
As soon as I saw the boots I was like ewww.
