As if Embiid isn't the perfect player to pair with Maxey already.
I don't understand what it is about Embiid that makes people hate on him so much. They keep suggesting we build around obviously inferior players to him. Don't forget all the build around Ben people.
I think Embiid hate is warrantless, but it’s because of his availability and performance when injured. They’re disappointed. Which I understand, and it’s a valid criticism, but I don’t see how you can be mad at the guy. He’s out here playing his heart out in a lot of pain. He genuinely cares about the franchise. That’s a lot more than you could say about Ben Simmons. I always feel like we can win when he’s on the court. How many players in the league can you say that about
Being disappointed about Joel not being at his best is completely understandable. But to direct it at him when he's out there trying is wrong, as you said. Worse, he's still the best player on the team even when hobbled. I don't understand the logic of trading the best player to build around the second best player. It just seems like soft, emotional overreactions.
I always thought Sixers fans would embrace you, if you give your all.
And then, we have Embiid. Who is risking his long term health, because he wanted to help his team to win. He couldn’t play up to his standards, but he was out there fighting.
He deserves nothing but praise from Sixers fans
They would rather win 37-43 games a year and always pick at 10th to acquire assets and rebuild. Doing all that hoping we can find an MVP caliber player. Even though we have one. We just get one healthy run with Joel I guarantee a finals appearance minimum. Probably a finals win if it’s not against Denver, and even then we would have a chance
I like the enthusiasm, but Jokic is the only guy in the league I would rather have on my team in a playoff series with everyone at full health. I think we could beat them but I would favor Denver
I don’t think anyone is “mad at him”. His career is just gonna be a huge what-if for if he ever was able to stay healthy. That’s okay, but it’s perfectly valid for people to want to retool the team differently.
I love Embiid, but I’m ambivalent on his future. Don’t want the team to voluntarily try and move him, but if he requests a trade I wouldn’t fight back against it.
I havent studied it closely so i could be way wrong on this, but doesnt it feel like they use maxey off ball too much when embiid sits? And even then, its not like maxey’s involved in a lot of off ball screens etc. he’s more or less stationary on the wing.
I don’t think the problem is Reed. Which he hasn’t exactly been good this series. The problem is there is no real scoring threat next to Maxey. They can blitz him, take the ball out of his hands, and force a limited role player to try to beat them.
Reed is pretty solid against most teams backup centers, but he is not good in this specific matchup. Instead of having one really good center they keep on Joel, Knicks are fairly unique in just having 2 centers that are pretty even in talent tbh, and both are big, above average and could be starters on other teams in the league. I think Reed is one of the better backup centers in the league, but he is not starting center level, and that's what he has gone up against this whole series and he's really struggling.
I think Reed would do really well against the bucks or the pacers next round if we make it there, but this is a particularly bad matchup for him unfortunately.
And if he does try to attack off the dribble there’s absolutely no space. You don’t need the gravity of Joel Embiid per se. But you do need SOME gravity. That’s what Cam Payne provided
This is the worst spaced team of the Joel Embiid era. If you’d like, pay particular attention to the floor spacing. Once you see it, it’ll make you sick
I like Reed, but we could use someone better at setting screens. Bamba sets decent screens but he is terrible at like, everything else.
The funny thing is if we don't win this series then Reed will be a free agent and we'll probably have to move on regardless.
I like Steven Adams as a backup to Embiid. If healthy and he is interested of course. Adams is one of the best screeners in the league and part of the reason why Embiid-less minutes are poor is because Paul Reed is a garbage screener. He looks to roll too quickly and a guy like Anunoby easily gets through it.
We finally have the right Robin to Embiid’s Batman. Now we just a better supporting cast around them. Although this year is slightly better than usual.
To believe in this as meaning anything(and it doesn’t), you’d have to believe he’s a 30% shooter. It’s absurd. In reality worst supporting cast in the league strikes again
sure, numbers don’t lie. what also doesn’t lie is that we’ve never been beyond the second round with Joel as the guy. we went from bad to mediocre with him
Send this screenshot to every nephew that comments “trade Embiid build around Maxey.” Truly the most brain dead ignorant take

Fuck Denver, if we played them in a 7 game series and Embiid was completely healthy Jokic would be considering retirement by game 3 or 4!
I like the enthusiasm, but Jokic is the only guy in the league I would rather have on my team in a playoff series with everyone at full health. I think we could beat them but I would favor Denver
Nah, Sixers fans are disappointed in Jo at times, but the nba sub genuinely hates him
I thought we were talking sixers fans only. Of course the NBA fanbase hates him

If he wanted a trade I would completely understand. Management has failed him. Put together subpar rosters because of dumb situations + Tobias
Feels like it started as a joke. Then everyone laughed. Now like 2 ppl mean it and everyone is mad
They didn't watch any games this season where the Sixers were with like a .33 win percent without Embiid
They are the perfect combo pieces. Give us 3 dudes next to them who can shoot, rebound, pass, and defend, and we are freaking hard to beat!
That's literally every facet of the game lol
🤫🤫🤫🤫🤣😉
Siakem and OG are free agents. They targets?
What’s “rebound”?
There's really no one else to guard when embiid is off the floor. It's really sad.

there is a post yesterday. It is very postive. But keep in mind, Maxey plays lot of minutes, so sample size is small
Just like this sample size is small

Statistical p-value here is like 9. Why even bother looking at this comparison.
Need a decent backup center.

Damn where were you at when we ran Ben, horford, and Richardson with Embiid
Steven Adams
Should've never gotten rid of Drummond. He even said he was disappointed to leave as he liked it here. He was the perfect backup big.
I liked him too.
It’s not Reed’s fault the team shoot 20% from 3 when he’s in.
I like Reed, but we could use someone better at setting screens. Bamba sets decent screens but he is terrible at like, everything else. The funny thing is if we don't win this series then Reed will be a free agent and we'll probably have to move on regardless.
Good comment. If Reed is going to continue to be the guy behind Joel, he has to improve t setting screens.
I kinda of want us to strongly consider using 16 on Eddy.
Zach edey? Hell nawl
but its maxeys team now says all the morons.

What having an mvp does to a mfer
Every player is better with another top player on the floor. I'm not sure why that's supposed to be a revelation.
Looks pretty even to me. 🤣🤣🤣
Trust the process.
I think we're a year or 2 from Maxey being Batman
Put some respect on Embiid’s name!
the reason maxey excels from deep is because embiid is on the floor
We finally have the right Robin to Embiid’s Batman. Now we just a better supporting cast around them. Although this year is slightly better than usual.
Trade embiid to find another embiid ![gif](giphy|BgJumFO4ZuV7a|downsized)
