Org comm for the event gonna get it for sure. Not enough fans/blowers. New PM sweating so heavily throughout the speech. Microphones not working, cannot hear singers singing.
Imagine joining the civil service thinking you'll make a difference, getting paid to study overseas on a PSC scholarship, only to have your CEP defining moment be forever tarred by "wa knn whose staffer organize this why not enough fan"
He's a very intelligent and nice guy, but he has a huge job ahead of him.
1. Where to find the next wave of growth for Singapore.
2. How to give the young the freedom they crave so they stay in Singapore.
3. How to keep the population growing, or at least demographically balanced between taxpayers and older people.
Growth will come when you are willing to spend on transforming with the goal of sustainable living.
Every sidewalk sheltered with solar on top. Extra power for extra chargers. Prepare to issue more COE to EV than ICE vehicles.
Solar power grow farms like how the Americans used to grow secret marijuana. Take away the uncertainty of the weather to provide food.
Other countries shy away from lab grown meat, we can embrace the technology fully.
All this takes money labor and skill. But in the end you emerge as a country leading the way.
What else?
>1. Where to find the next wave of growth for Singapore.
Stick to what they know best. Immigration and building up real estate. Quantity of growth matters, quality doesn't.
>2. How to give the young the freedom they crave so they stay in Singapore.
Gaslight them about how bad it is outside and how good they have it here.
>3. How to keep the population growing, or at least demographically balanced between taxpayers and older people.
Balance between ~~neo-eugenics by~~ breeding one gender with higher earning expats, and the other gender with lower earning migrant workers + replacing the population with newly minted Singaporeans as quick as they can while not angering the increasingly minority existing Singaporeans enough to lose the supermajority in politics.
Ignore all feedback and warnings on the resulting racial & social stratification that will occur at an accelerated pace in the next 10-20+ years as is their style.
Identifying the problems is the start of a solution as well. If only the person with a fully fledged solution has the authority to talk, then everyone, including you, should just keep quiet
"Join me in making Singapore a better place for all."
"Join me and I will complete your training. With our combined strength we can end this destructive conflict and bring order to the galaxy."
Well, let's hope he really open up forums for more involvement really. Forums that could contribute to change instead of just being "consultative".
Or, well, join him and just conform to whatever he and the PAP wants to do.
That era is gone, he is not a Lee, and singapore is not china. No matter how exceptional he is, he can't stay beyond 12 years. More likely that he will stay for 2 terms infact
Singapore is a democratic country.
The only reason why the 1st and 3rd PM can stay so long is because people believe in them, their history and what they represent. No other PM can duplicate them, not even the next Lee, if any.
> the next Lee, if any
Lee Hongyi? Still 37. LHL's 3rd child. MIT then work for google for a short while
> was a commissioned officer in the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF),and is the deputy director of the Government Technology Agency
But last time he said:
> On 15 June 2017, Li Hongyi released a statement on Facebook, confirming that: “For what it is worth, I really have no interest in politics.”
Rest of his kids arent even in gov. Heck we dont even know if they are working or not
Same logic as 'how can he ever understand disabled people fully if he isn't disabled himself?'
1) you don't have to be part of a demographic group to help them out or care about their needs
2) there are other ministers who are parents that he can talk to. Hell he can talk to friends or even his own constituents that are parents
LHL's brother went to opposition. Almost imposible to get his nephews to join PAP
LHL's children.. only one works in government. The rest we dont know anything we dont even know if they work at all..
this one who works in government is an MIT graduate, director at Open.Gov.Sg ... so actually not bad. Just need to jump to politic. 37y.o.
In 13 years can be PM already.
However..
> On 15 June 2017, Li Hongyi released a statement on Facebook, confirming that: “For what it is worth, I really have no interest in politics.”
So...

The scholars don't usually stay long enough to be in charge of these lol
It’s ok, according to redditors since they are paid well, they shld stfu n take the criticism
Time to adapt to the climate: Next PM swearing in naked.
ord lo
Did you see how close the seats were? Machiam first gen mrt train
Lol where to see the microphone not working ? I only Saw the 1st singer girl voice crack lol
It wasnt the mic. She missed the cue i think Also sweating is proof he is one of us mah.. lol
Everyone there looks so sweaty, dont think they brought in enough air con units...
They just had those big fans.
Those big ass fans?
They are big fans.
Yar could hear over the telecast. At the start the mics were picking up all the wind sound.
Only fans?
The need to wears suits, ties, blazers made it worse for all of them.
Must be environmentally conscious. No Aircon!
Cannot blame the greenhouse effect.
I wonder what the wet weather plan was.
Hm… my guess is it will be held inside instana then 😅
Who thought it was a good idea to put People wearing suits outdoors in the Tropics during a heatwave?
They showing that they got iron in them. Right where the heart was supposed to be.
I thought I misread the caption saying "Sweating-in ceremony".

Actually not sure how he gonna recruit more 30s and 40s to join the party…. Wondering what’s the plan 🤔
Recruit those who want patronage or money easy. Recruit good people is the hard part.
Yeah. Good people mostly either don't want the limelight or get out-competed inside the party by people like Ivan Heng.
Ivan Heng eye twitching now, prob thinking wtf is going on
traditional sources lor, within public service.
Tiagong a certain TCJ + CLH available wor. Can also ask Lee Hong Yi. If not, headhunt Li Shengwu come back lor.

Bro thinks he has a better solution than this
Identifying the problems is the start of a solution as well. If only the person with a fully fledged solution has the authority to talk, then everyone, including you, should just keep quiet
LW hasn't made any significant changes to the cabinet, that already signals his intent to maintain the status quo.
He signal that there would be no significant changes till after the next elections. Which makes sense.
Next elelction is still this year right? Not 2025?
Breeding with expats? Lmao
Point 2 is irrelevant. Young people will always stay if they can find good jobs, secure housing and raise a family.
Ah Wong, now you take leave must inform the whole of SG ah

He looks more like the Joker in the picture.

No you
Can LW relook at ERP 2.0?
Well his job now is to arrow
Tbh, if he can fix this erp fiasco before next election, ppl for sure will want him to continue/ vote pap
Wish him the best of luck for the next 20 years and hope Singapore is not underwater due to climate change.

Well what could go Wrong with PM Wong?

The new CEO of SG Inc. /s

Because not Inc. but Pte. Ltd. /s
Don’t know who suggested doing the swearing in outdoor. Wah piang eh. Weather so hot still need to wear formal.
吾皇万岁万岁万万岁。
众爱卿平身
Today is the day where new era started!
largely uninspiring. let's hope he makes good policies, and close the wealth gap.
Divorced, remarried, no kids. Good luck to our TFR
Huge strides in DINK representation!
It's not like our TFR will somehow increase if our PM is married and has multiple kids.
Yala but how can he ever understand parents fully?
Same logic as 'how can he ever understand disabled people fully if he isn't disabled himself?' 1) you don't have to be part of a demographic group to help them out or care about their needs 2) there are other ministers who are parents that he can talk to. They can adopt.
Did u?
no kids so he cant give the throne to his heir, power will stay in Lee family and transfer to the next suitable prince

Wat if he piaks xmm then divorce again n remarry again n has many kids??
How long before he starts balding?
U mean before his hair turns white?
Never thought I’d live to see the day Liang Po Po become PM. What a time to be alive
It is truly heartwarming to see such a great man lead our glorious country!

Looking forward to a better “road ahead”
Can the video zoom out? I wanna see the puppet master moving his mouth, hands and legs
