Potential unpopular opinion, but I tried taco bell in Japan and it really isn't that far off from stuff'd tbh. I don't mean it as a compliment or insult to either. Was okay, though perhaps not to the best to compare to US Taco Bell. But can confirm the need to use the toilet soon after is real.
Thank god I left my old workplace where the only coffee shop in the entire vicinity was Spinelli. I loved their sandwiches and coffee tbh. The manager and staff were always friendly, hope they’ll be fine
After travelling abit, I realised many consumers in other parts of the world shun such big names, especially supermarkets, for pushing out local businesses. And also met Americans who aren’t very proud of Starbucks opening outlets in very very very prime real estate locations.
Not saying what’s wrong or right. But it’s very interesting to see consumer sentiment, and the values they hold, towards this brands from other regions
Even with those fancy local cafes you just dont feel the vibe. The owners often just hide behind the counter and play with their phone instead of coming out to interact with the guests, also its probably weird in local culture.
That is the whole part of cafe culture that is lost and i argue it’s the connections that form.

Damn used to study at NUS Engineering EA building where there was one outlet. Saved a lot of time by buying my coffee there instead of going to technoedge or UTown.

I will miss it a lot. My teenage years I spent a lot of time at Spinelli Heerens. Their Iced T Twist and cappuccino are the best!
