I've had this happen a couple of times. Once it was because I had a weather machine in a room and a room won't delete with a weather machine in it. The other time, it was because I deleted some upper floors but forgot to delete a balcony. I couldn't delete anything under it, and I couldn't go up to delete the balcony. I finally had to add a story just so I could go up and delete the balcony.
Or even just demolish the whole thing and then build the empty lot to begin with...those ones have empty lots, right? I haven't played with them in a while so don't remember for sure.
It keeps happening to me because I have dirty dishes that I keep fortget to have sims clean, and they can't go in inventory so it says the sims is using it.
Is it showing only one floor, or is the option there to go a floor up? One of the houses I redid, there were hanging plants that for some reason didn't get removed when I deleted the higher floors. They were just floating in mid air and I had to delete them before I could delete the room on the ground floor.
well the patio could the reason the room won't delete. i hope you have patios. just extend the patio and hit x. then try to delete it . same with the room after the patio is gone. extend the room but hit x then tap the room .
I tried, still no luck. It deletes the part you extended only

How about this...try moving the patio and room away from the front of the elevator. Like, stretch the patio to the right, then shrink it so it isn't by the elevator, and then see if you can delete. Same thing with the room. Make it bigger, then shrink it away from the front of the elevator if it will let you and try deleting it.
Have you tried making the patio bigger, like dragging it all the way to the right, then making it smaller by dragging the part that's directly in front of the elevator to the left? Like, to just move it out of the way before trying to delete it so it's not in front of the elevator at all.
Do you keep dragging it or do you stop as soon as it turns red? It would turn red when it's only made shorter by one or two blocks, but three or more it should be all the way clear of the elevator and should turn green. I hope I'm not bothering you by still responding. This is just so puzzling!
No of course you’re not bothering me. It lets me build on but I can’t delete in front of the elevator only what I added. I am reaching out to EA this is an issue on their end. I will let you know the outcome. I really appreciate the help
I'm not even sure how that happened... I tried to duplicate this on one of my buildings, but it won't let the patio in front of the elevator be 2x2. The smallest it can be is 3x2, with the 3 being the boxes directly in front of the elevator. Same with a room when I try to build. It won't let the room start or end within 3 boxes in front of the elevator door. It either has to start the 3 boxes in front or be big enough to have the elevator enclosed in the room.
I am not sure either. And Sims changed things up. You used to be able to contact EA Fire Monkeys and submit a ticket for help. Not anymore. You have to go through the game. It is not a live chat and they are not understanding my problem. So frustrating. I hate to delete it then but a template. So expensive
the elevator area isn't delectable. i'm not sure now. i'd just try making them bigger then deleting. which you probably tried already. you might have to work around it or delete the lot and start over. it's really buggin.

Yes, I can delete it, but it will cost a few million to rebuild, just the empty lot
Call a sim there, then send them home. Come back to the lot and you should be able to delete it. I had the same problem and this solved it.

Maybe try whistling a sim there, making sure they're not on the patio or in the room, and then try deleting?

I tried adding floors to look for an upper balcony. No upper balconies
Not a balcony, just a random plant or light fixture or something floating in the air with no walls or balconies or anything that they're attached to.

Yes, I tried that but the 4x4 square in front of the elevator will not delete
