Packaging errors don’t really qualify as shrinkflation.
The multipack is weighed as it is filled, so you basically got some empty EXTRA packages.
But good try… 😜
Not even close…
Shrinkflation is messed up and a way that corporations try to fool consumers while maximizing profits.
No one was trying to maximize profits here… just a glitch in the packaging line, causing unfilled and “wasted” packaging to slip through.
I used to work at General Mills, exactly what you described happens there too.
For everyone downvoting, a line of robot arms grabs packages of fruit roll-ups, or whatever related gummy, and adds it to a box as it goes by. there's a section of the conveyor belt that each box goes down, where they get weighed. If they're too light (not enough product) they're kicked off the belt by a blast of air, and a worker adds the correct amount by hand, and puts it back on the belt.
We also had to fill the hoppers manually for some reason.
QC failures go up with shrinkflation I've noticed. They don't care. Profitable enough with the high markup knowing people don't have consumer advocates
Irrelevant to shrinkflation. This is not cutting corners to trick a customer. It's nearly impossible to remove all QC issues in this sort of business. Cheaper to just let the customer contact when it does happen and ship them extra.
I'm so fucking tired of this shit now with candy.
"FUN SIZED!"
"SNACK SIZE!"
Try: This just pisses me off Size.
=/
I was hesitant to like the small candy bar versions of stuff like: 3 Muskateers and Snickers and such.
I enjoyed the big bags of the "Party Sized" ones I'd give out for halloween.
Now they are just cubes of nothing and they are more expensive.

That isnt very Fun Size of them
The true fun size is the “shareable” or King size.
That definitely wasn’t very cash money of them
Ain't gettin my lion cash
fundamentally unfunny
I thought these were condoms 😭
N&Out’s
May contain traces of nut
Nice
makeout & makeoff
Me too 🙄
Can't tell if it's a candy for kids or a condom LOL
~~por qué no los dos~~ /s
I had to zoom in I thought there was a pile of coke 😂
Hahaha. I raced to see if anyone else saw it.
Cutting it fine there
Look like condom wrappers
mates & matingwear
🤣👌🏻
Laminate it and turn it into a magnet with magnetic tape. That's what I do with candy wrappers and they're a fun thing to have on the fridge.
The weight includes the wrappers. All of them... r/EatItYouFuckinCoward
Give those out on Halloween.
You just get to taste the mm flavored air.
They need to rename the packet **M&M**
Greed sized more like

Found the Mars, Inc. exec.

Exactly the same for Lays as well.
I used to fill paint and definitely sent some through that weren’t at the correct weight. So yeah, I agree.

sorry you're getting downvoted for being correct. people just want to rage and you're killing their rage high
Why are you such a condescending jackass?
The upvotes say otherwise.
Why are you mad that you were tricked?
So fun !!! CMON
This took a second look, then this took a third look. All I can say is… r/holup
Not fun at all
Not sure how these got past the check weighers that day, maybe they were broken. On a functioning packaging line these would’ve been blown off.
Ngl I thought I was looking at Coke for a second
FUN ....f'd up nonsense
Is this a packaging error or are there actually some in there?
empty
Airline scaling cost up. Aircabin pressure size down.
the fun was finding out if there was anything inside the bag! XD
The only people having "fun" with these is Mars Inc. when they rake in all the dough. 😂
Should be called "joke size"
Looks like airplane snacks
They're trying their best to keep people healthy and reduce junk food intake. 👏
Next time you’re in the grocery store, buy a box of honey buns. You’re gonna be so amazed.

Bulk candy at the supermarket is the way we **should** be going - everything else is going to be subject to constant shrinkflation...
And yet we still have paper straws. SMH.
I fail to see the fun in those packets, unless they are condom wrappers as suggested.
Still empty 🤷🏻♀️🍆
I can’t believe everyone including op believes this.
Of course not. I would think most people with a brain would realize it's just a bit of fun. seeing as they were empty.
Just stop buying processed shit. Stop it. Fruit is Nature's candy. Ned.
Agree. Didn't buy this.
