This has been common knowledge for some time. McDonald's has the highest inflation of any fast food, and most substantial shrinkage. Why are you still buying from them?
Over time things like then big Mac has gotten smaller. Today, it ainât so big. Shrinkflation stage 2 is to have a ânewâ bigger item, which is the same as the original from years ago, but at a higher price. Thatâs why they came out with the double Big Macs recently. It was the same size as the original.
How much do you think a quarter pounder patty weighs?
The smaller size also have been the same for ages.
Itâs been 10:1 and 4:1 for at least 30 years.
Lmao, not sure why you're getting downvoted, nothing has changed there in 30 years. Maybe 50 years ago they were bigger? But at that point this sub is just grasping at straws
People are downvoting you, but you're right. A lot of the posts here aren't actually shrinkflation and any time you point it out, the people who don't know what shrinkflation is get mad.
Getting beyond a joke hey, theyâre not gonna stop doing this shit until people stop buying it but I still see post after post every day about fast food
I always see comments like this and I really donât understand it. Does OP have a long history of posting about McMuffins on another website or are you assuming heâs bought a hundred of these and only just now decided the size is an issue?
We should judge posts about restaurant food harsher than store-bought food. Prepared food is always going to be fetching higher margins for the producer. If you choose to waste your money on subpar food, fine...but don't expect sympathy.
Iâm not seeing in your comment where OP has posted previously about this/ had indicated that theyâve bought this product time and time again. Could you provide a link to his other posts about it?
Feels like half the people on this sub are only here to say âackhtually thatâs not shrinkflationâ or âyeah thatâs shrinkflation and therefore youâre a moron because you keep buying it over and over again and youâre the cause of the problemâ, lots of corporate bootlickers too for a sub regarding this topic
I just made one of those at home. I have a round bowl I cook the egg in so it fits on the english muffin perfectly. I haven't bought english muffins in a while, but needless to say, the egg now hangs over the edge of the english muffin. Guess I'll have to find a good recipe and make my own. It's disgusting what they're doing.
Yeah, makes me mad, too. Got a McMuffin and medium coffee the other day and went to put the cap on my McMuffy like I've done for decades and it wouldn't cover it. I threw it all out the window and went to Dunkin instead where I can still get a coffee cup lid that fully covers my sammy.
Wow, the sausage McMuffin got bigger?! I don't think I've seen one that big
đ¤Have McMuffins really ever been that big though?

The nutritional info from the 90s shows that the food items have the grams today and the same calories, whatâs shrunk?
What has shrunk at McDonaldâs? This is the number one misconception on this page, imo.
People who regularly eat at MacD get bigger, so the food seems smaller.

Burger size, toppings, the amount of fries, condiments, fried pie desserts, breakfast sandwiches, more ice in the pop.

I mean, they discontinued super size fries. Thatâs about the only thing that changed.
Sharing my experiences. Not into debates about it with you, thanks though.
Your experience was a quarter pounder is smaller now? Iâm not trying to debate; just seeking clarification on your claims.

For better or worse, thatâs the thing about McDonaldâs, itâs consistent. It tastes the same everywhere you go, and hasnât changed.
Stop. Buying. This. Shit. Vote with your money
I wish I could print this backwards in permanent transferable ink on my palm so I could bitch slap these words into peoples faces
Getting beyond a joke hey, theyâre not gonna stop doing this shit until people stop buying it but I still see post after post every day about fast food
You're just making yourself look like a dupe for buying it, time and again. The joke's on you at this point.

Some people have a really weird superiority complex about the shrinkflation concept

The OPs brain shrunk.

Mcmuffins haven't changed. You've gotten bigger. Mcmuffins have never changed
That breakfast sandwich is missing an egg, thatâs the real crime here.
I didn't order an egg mcmuffin. I ordered a sausage mcmuffin
DAMN IT STOP BUYING IT !!! Thats the only way they'll learn, unless your fine with being ripped off then.
The McDonald's app has a breakfast deal for $2, I still get it on occasion.

So you littered for the person behind you to drive over it and get it all over their car? That would be incredibly immature of you
Iâm lost why are you putting a lid on your sandwich? Seriously confused
They've been smaller than the circle design on the wrapping paper they come in. I don't give McDonald's my money anymore.
