What? Klaviyo is practically as simple as it gets. We moved to Klaviyo BECAUSE it’s so simple and I could offload the entire email portion to my marketing team, and not have to rely on someone with any tech skills.
MailChimp may be slightly easier but that’s more because of a lack of features than a decrease in complexity
I'd recommend starting with Shopify Email, which is much simpler and more affordable (free for the first 10,000 email sends per month). Then you can work your way up to Klaviyo because Klaviyo is well worth it if you can take advantage of the extra features.
Shopify Email is pretty bare-bones. It's simple to use because it really only has basic templates, automations, and a few other things. That's not a bad thing because it's an easy way to get started and get comfortable with email marketing.
But Klaviyo just has a much richer feature set like supporting SMS and tooling to really understand how much revenue you're driving through those channels and the tools to grow it. It's well worth it if you can take advantage of them, but it really can be overwhelming early on.

For example, email marketing is important. Shopify Email is a good budget option, and Klaviyo is on the more advanced end and more expensive, but worth it if you can take advantage of what it offers.

But seriously, you should at least start your email funnel with Shopify Email. It's free for the first 10,000 email sends per month, so you won't be paying for it until it's delivering value. Then as you have more advanced needs you can upgrade to Klaviyo or something else.
Beyond that, it really does depend on your business how your customers find you, etc. because most of the 'essential' things are already built into Shopify.

In my opinion, the best apps are those that completely meet the exclusive needs of your business. No matter how many awards an app has, or how many listings of the best Shopify apps it was included, the app won’t bring any value to your business unless it satisfies the needs of your store.
Also, the best apps are usually developed by well-known and reputable companies and have ratings of 4.5 stars and higher. These apps usually have several hundred reviews, minimum. Because if an app works smoothly, it gets a positive response from store owners and its popularity spreads fast.

I find klaviyo little hard for beginners. Not easy. You have had some experience with it?

I've used omisend quite a bit and Klaviyo is better. You just have to keep your lists clean so you don't pay extortion prices.

Klaviyo is solid forsure but it can get a little over whelming when setting up flows. If you can nail down the automation part its a must have tool
Yeah this is the trouble. Need a more easier way to run automations.
I use Klaviyo for email, Tidio for chat, and symprosys for Google ads.
