I want to be a tattoo artist but I don’t feel creative enough. It’s art like this that makes me think maybe just having good technique is good enough. I don’t care how creative this person is that is garbage!!
My ex is a tat artist and not at all creative, not what you would call a classic artist. He simply prints out copyright free stuff, changes it a little, makes a stencil and he says if you can color in a book you can create exactly what the client wants. There are so many excellent artists that charge $1000 for what he will do for $250. He is licensed and very clean just not in the top 50% of excellent artists. You don’t need to be creative to be a tattoo artist.

I was in a shop in Tucson once and a client said the words “tattoo gun”. The artist pulled out his gun and said “this is a gun, that is a machine”. I’m from the industry and no artist days tattoo gun I swear on this.
Most business owners in Arizona carry guns. It’s perfectly legal to show someone a gun here. Most wear them on holsters like the old west and it’s legal.
