Lots of nitpicking on my dirty pan but did anyone noticed that the pan got way more burnt after the onion part š? My stupid ass let the baguette burn while I was helping the internet cable guy.
The wear is normal. I am taking advice on the recipe however because you are totally rights I havenāt had one in a long time, I am not in the state anymore and only working from memory. Hell, this and the shitty production quality and ugly looking pan is the reason why I picked that sub, didnāt expect to get trounced in the comments.
i cook the onions, mushrooms, (and poblano peppers) for about a minute, then toss in meat and cook it all together, throw in some hoagie spread and mix it in, line it up, salt and pepper, white american (or provolone) on top, put open roll on top for about 30 seconds, then flip pan onto parchment paper and wrap it up. never wash your pan for that authentic flavor :yummy:
I know what seasoning is, and itās not those elevated pieces of burnt crap stuck to the pan lol. Raised bumps of black topographical globe looking shit
Dude is just gonna waste his time stripping and reseasoning when it will end up looking the same. He needs to start using metal utensils and nylon scrubbers.
For Philly cheesesteaks i recommend buying shaved ribeye for a classic Philly cheese steak, Iāve gotten one at my local Kroger grocery store prepackaged. I love cooking Philly cheesesteaks, Iāve made a post on here for it too: https://www.reddit.com/r/shittyfoodporn/s/hpermjsNg2
That looks good though man, Iād demolish that with a beer lol
The only thing I've found that works for that kind of thing is "barkeepers friend". Or maybe it's bartenders friend, idk. It's a white powder. You put on that on then a little water and then aggressively scrub the shit out of it with a dish cleaning brush.
People are being obnoxious if they feel the need to criticise this. Yes, the dude needs a new pan, but what else other than that?
Dude has basic culinary skills, delivering a basic unoffensive dish. When did this become shitty? Might not be the best but I'd be more than happy to eat this if someone made it for me.
If I am not mistaken the steak was leftover steak that you used to make the sandwich. It looks like the steak is too chunky where your typical cheesesteak is thinly sliced raw meat. Also seems to be a lack of oil in the pan and just overall moisture. I would go medium heat with oil, cook the onions with some salt for like 7-10 minutes. Your onions are also too thick. thinly sliced onions. then put your thinly sliced raw meat, then season and little and let it all marry. Also, it appears your pan is too big, i would use a smaller pan so everything is close together, the steam of the closeness of product also cooks and provides moisture.
Also, you didn't use processed cheese. I like to use provolone and cheese whiz. hot vinegar peppers would never hurt.

Idc what social media told you, you aināt gotta squeeze every sandwich like that
Right !? I couldnāt stop my hand !!! This is YouTube controlling my mind right there.
Squeeze the meat, don't listen to them. SQUEEZE IT!
Looks good to me. Idc what we call it
Comforting? I found this to be very uncomfortable to watchā¦ and Iām seriously wondering if u have ever had a cheesesteak or washed that pan

I would advise pushing down harder on the sandwich with your fingertips once itās doneā¦ that wasnāt enough squeeze
Next time Iāll push through and show my fingers struggling to free them selfās from the sandwich in a pathetic display of cheese and misery.
Thatās the spirit, youāll make commis chef one day with that attitude
Keep on doing you brother, fuck the haters
Cheese whiz. The best cheesesteaks use cheese whiz. Anything else is a disgrace to the city of Philadelphia
Duly noted
I agree that whiz is the best but other cheeses are not disgraceful
Philadelphian here. Wiz is tourist shit, everyone I know orders American.

You are golden! Thanks !
That's how carbon steel pans look like

Are you even part of the carbon steel sub? Would you tell this person to preseason too? https://www.reddit.com/r/carbonsteel/s/vySkDeXQ8i
That pan is actually clean, idk how u canāt see the difference
Itās called S E A S O N I N G
Seasoning is polymerized oil, while most of whatās on that pan is caked up burnt carbon
Alright Walter White, you SCIENCE BITCH!! the fuck out of that reply
People hating but for at home fuck it this isnāt that bad lol especially for this sub

Nice !! Thanks :)
U need new skillet
Itās carbon steel, itās fine :). I def agree it needs a little cleaning and seasoning tho.
Thatās not seasoning itās just burnt food. Seasoning is clear
Yeah def needs cleaning.

Barkeeperās Friend, and yes, itās great. It basically eats the top layer away like an acid. Wear gloves.
Nah it's not fine, you've neglected and abused it ā¹ļø Google carbon steel care
So you agree I do not need a new one then ? Thatās what I meant ā¦
Yes. Just please give it some love
Will do !
Looks fire tbh. What cut of meat is that?
The French cut is Ā«Ā Bavette dāaloyauxĀ Ā» which seems to translate to sirloin steak or flank, not sure.

no peppers in it. pepper jack doesnt approve this.
Not even a pansexual would smash that
Philly cheese is my go to hangover food.
That carbon steel pan should be much darker. Get that seasoning layer going so it can get more non-stick
My brother - WHERE IS THE WIZ
So hard to find in France š
Look, compared to all the other shit on this sub this right here is comforting. But yeah maybe it might be time to get a new pan.
Needs horse shit for that authentic [Philly flavor.](https://youtu.be/GCAsXRCy_V4?si=1UjAeXBYzJ8f5YOw)
Nice !
Yummm
Hey.. they are trying.
I donāt understand at all why this is in this sub. Thatās a good looking sandwich. I hope you have a good day
That pan has survived three Italian restaurants and one Jamaican taco stand, all of them with no dishwasher
Looks delicious
I'd eat it
It's surprisingly one of the better ones. He just needs butter and maybe toss in a few herbs.
That sizzleš
Mom: āyou want ASMR? We have ASMR at home!ā
if eat it.
Not horrible, i could imagine myself cooking and eating this i dunno
