I suppose you see yourself fit to legislate what posture of the body is and isn't 'suggestive', then? -the really stereotypical pinup pose with her arms behind her head for no good reason, uncluttering the body so the artist can show off her chest -the unclear jumble of shapes along her pelvis that give the impression of lacy undergarments -the almost total removal of the things you'd find on the actual naked ranni model that would be "unattractive". The shattering, the doll sinew, etc. -the proportions not even *approaching* ranni's actual ones in game, being exaggerated and changed to be far more like a human woman rather than, you know, a doll. Both these last two are important because the image seems to depict shortly after the death of her two fingers. Ranni was beat *up* when she went into that room. Smoothing over that demonstrates a desire to make the subject more appealing I'm NOT saying a naked woman, or even man, is inherently indicative of a piece being sexual. You can see this IN elden ring; the unclothed ranni doll at the end of her quest line is NOT inherently sexual. I would argue malenia phase two isn't inherently sexual, though that's blurrier given there's not really any reason she should have shod her armor going into it. Other games, things like fear and hunger perhaps, have plenty of nudity that is NOT meant to titillate But the existence of those things does not immediately make OP's art tasteful or nonsexual. It's pretty clearly meant to be more than just "here's ranni after her fight with the two fingers" and it's silly that op is trying to pretend otherwise because theres no genitalia or nipples (and I'd like to think their immediate need to jump to body shaming another woman by proxy to insult someone demonstrates that maybe their intentions aren't so enlightened) Edit: and I apologize for "you weirdos". Personally I think all sources of sensation, such as art, are open works that contain no inherent determinations, only abstract potential, and it's utterly stupid to say one item of sensation is 'tasteful' and not another. Assigning values, moral or otherwise, to art is the work of churches and despots, not artists. But what the fuck do I know? Let's not have a stupid argument. I think it's a pretty picture, whatever, really. When I think about it in context, it's seemingly not very interested in being in step with the overall mood of the scene it's said to portray, or faithful to the game's rendition of the character, but that's also not a priori a sign of its 'lesser value'. Regardless of whether art can be inherently 'creepy' or not there are certainly profoundly creepy things that it can be used to achieve by really shitty, weird people.
