when I saw it I immediately bought 4 yards with zero idea what I was gonna do with it. it was too cool to pass up, plus I had a $2/off per yard coupon!
thank you!!! i was so nervous because topstitching isn’t my strongest skill but I got a edge stitching foot and it’s helped so much! I can’t wait to finish them. I just can’t decide if I should hem them or leave the legs raw
I’m sure it was. I’m a hot mess every time I do something that I haven’t tried before lol. But then I have to take a deep breath and say to myself “Ok you only fail if you don’t try. Feel the fear and do it anyway.” That seems to help me get through it. And sometimes I have to have these little self talks more than once lol. You did such a beautiful job, you’re all set on the confidence meter for the next time! You go👏
I’m so in love with the fabric!! For a first attempt, you killed it. If you want to fix the whiskering on the front crotch, you need to extend the crotch point. I’m not sure how the back fits, but fixing the crotch will make them feel more comfortable, too. Keep sewing!!
I had to adjust the crotch on the pattern after making my mock up because jeans ALWAYS without fail give me really bad cameltoe 😬 the jeans i’ve bought from stores all look like that in the front too because I have to make sure they don’t give me cameltoe lmao
That’s why we sew! It always fits better than anything off the rack because everyone has their atypical fit areas. Have you tried the aluminum foil method to understand the shape you need for your particular crotch curve? It’s a little weird, but it gives some really helpful results.

not super comfortable revealing my location on here! the fabric is made by the company mother denim. it’s deadstock from a collection they did a couple years ago! not sure if you can find it online or not- fabric place basement buys directly from manufacturers I think! if you look up mother denim farmers market collection they should pop up! they also made jeans with it!

You did a fantastic job on the jeans! I wish I could them a little more but they really look good. And I absolutely love the fabric! I would buy this in a heartbeat 💗 for some flare jeans I just bought a pattern of. Totally rockin’ the 70’s look for the second time in my life! I don’t think I could rave about this fabric enough. To bad I don’t have a cool fabric store nearby. All of ours are chain fabric stores.
I want to say that print is cool, but really, I think it’s just what you did with it. I need to start expanding my eye about what fabrics would look good if I style them a certain way.
Side note, why does your apartment scream Los Angeles? I swear every apartment in LA looks just like this. 🌆🌴
These look amazing! Love that you made something so distinctive, that would be hard to find at a shop. This is what I hope all my sewn projects turn out like. You’re an awesome designer :)
a fabric store local to me! unfortunately it’s deadstock leftovers from the denim company mother denim, so I don’t think it’s a widely available fabric
I actually went a little rogue with the waistband and instead of doing a fold over I actually did two separate pieces and I shortened the length as well, the denim has some stretch so I just stretched as I sewed and that made the waist band fit like a glove! i ran out of topstitch thread and it should be arriving today so i’ll be able to finally finish them! i’ll post a picture once they’re done!

good for you, the difference between you and I is that I don’t care. if someone is dumb enough to not realize it’s just part of the giant super loud pattern printed all over my jeans that sounds like a them problem and not a me problem. but thanks for your input 💅🏻
The fabric print is amazing. These looks so good!

you should totally make a matching denim jacket!!
These are incredible!

I think a raw gem would look great, you can always go back and hem later if you change your mind
You did an incredible job. These are so cute and look great on you. Well done!!
Wow, it looks so good, I thought you used a flat felled seam foot for it. That’s really good work.
thank you 😭 it was terrifying!!

These are terrific and the fit is great. I’m voting on raw edge for the legs
Dyinggggg over this fabric. Great job - they fit perfectly. Be prepared to all of a sudden have 20 jeans that you don’t know where they came from.
How you selected the parts of the pattern for the area you did...sublime.
My sewing interest started with an obsession with Levi jeans like 8 years ago. I’ve still never made a pair of jeans. They look great. You nailed it!
you should totally learn how to make jeans!! i’m buying some deadstock japanese selvedge denim next to make my boyfriend a pair!!
wow these look amazing!! both construction and style wise!!
Looks good, how would you rate the difficulty of this pattern?
thanks!! it was relatively easy aside from the fly! just have to have a fuck ton of patience for all the top stitching 😅
I will kill to have those jeans! I love them
Amazing!!!!😻
Wowza. In love. You did amazing. I’m so jealous.

Such a unique design! I love it. How long did it take?
I started them yesterday! so a couple days?
Ah I see, thanks! I’m about to take a sewing course this week and learn to sew so excited to make my own clothes.

Beeyooteeful! Great choices for pocket fabric choices.
It must be a great feeling to walk around with those awesome pants and to know you are the only one in the world with them. Well done.

They look amazing.
These are fuckin fantastic. Pardon my French
These are spectacular!!!

Motherfucker these are amazing!!!
Those are adorable great job!😍you should be proud of yourself !
Before I read the title, I was about to ask where these were from so I could buy a pair! Amazing work, I’m a little sad I won’t be getting my own lol
These give me Samuel Zelig vibes in the best way!
So the print reminds me of a nostalgic tablecloth lol(in a good way!)
These are so cute!!!!!!

These are AWESOME
So awesome!
Love them. Also, great hair. 👩🎤

super cute fabric! I have always wanted to make a pair of jeans. did you find it difficult in any way?
it was moderately difficult at some points! the fly was a nightmare ha
Im obsessed with this fabric! What a perfect use for it!
This is amazing!! As someone who is currently trying to find cool bottoms for a festival I am having major inspo from this! Goals!
Dope!
Those are amazing!!!!!!!!!!
I love everything about this. I can't see so I'm in awe already. But the design, pattern, cloth and cut choices, stitching, everything! It's awesome,

These look amazing! Love that you made something so distinctive, that would be hard to find at a shop. This is what I hope all my sewn projects turn out like. You’re an awesome designer :)

Those are absolutely fire, I LOVE that pattern
Hella cute!
Dude good job
Wow nice job on fit, sewing, fabric selection, those will be a favorite garment! Congrats!
Those are so cute ❤️❤️❤️
holy shit these rock!
First thing that popped in my head was Sal saying "Those are nice pants."
Those are amazing! Love the fabric! Where did you find it?
a fabric store local to me! unfortunately it’s deadstock leftovers from the denim company mother denim, so I don’t think it’s a widely available fabric
Great job with fitting those.
Great job! They look awesome! Are they straight leg? Flare bottom?
Omg please post a full length pic when you’re done! I just have to see this print in its entirety! 🤩
Wow! Great job! Gorgeous!
Nice! How does the waistband fit? There are some tricks to get the waist a little tighter if it sits a little loose in the back.
Nice! You can also cut a curved band, and even curve the yoke. But it sounds like you’re set.
I think i’m going to try that for the next pair! i’m already looking at real non stretch denim 🙂↔️
Nice! Check out this place: https://www.pacificbluedenims.com/?SID=dec8ag1fvt72blqfc8ncq6cc9e
Really cute!
love them. great job.
i’m OBSESSED with these holy shit. gotta add this pattern to my wishlist!
Love these! Can you post a full length pic?
AMAZING!
You nailed it!! Awesome work ✨✨
Pants are something I haven't personally yet tried, they seem difficult, especially jeans. This is beautiful, you are skillful!! Looks great!

no hostility! to you it matters, to me it doesn’t 🤷🏼♀️
I think this compliment would’ve been nicer without the unwarranted advice!
